Blink Dog 0 Posted April 19, 2002 I know how you guys feel, my web page was banned in Germany. Heaven forbid the period between 1933-1945 in Germany never existed. Best thing to do, move somewhere where the games are not banned.

I think about the only game that ever got banned (i.e. ownership was ilegal) was W3D because of all the 3rd Reich insignia. The restricted games are legal to buy and own - if you are over 18 years old. Also you are not allowed to make advertisements for these games (something that isn't nescessary anyway, as they are usually well known among gamers before they are restricted). The only problem is, that as the shops are not allowed to put the games on the shelves (which counts as advertising them in public) but only to give them out on request, so they think they won't sell many of them anyway. Therefore after being restricted most shops will remove the game from their stocks. But of course they usually can order a package for you anytime - so if you can prove your age, you actually can buy them. And, you always can order a game on the internet... I think it is ok to restrict very violent games to adults, as is done with movies - especially as the games look more and more like the real thing. That's all that this is about. They're not restricting them<span id='postcolor'> You can buy them in Germany legally! In basically any larger store! But they are not alowed to show them. E.g. you are not allowed to put them in the shop-window, advertise them a.s.o. But I think it already has been said often enough! Actually it is kind of thrilling to go into the shop and whisper to one of the sellers: psssst, any surveillance camera here? hey can I trust you? Listen, I will only ask once....and I am willing to pay the price.....I got your name from a friend and he said you are the one who can help me....I need Wolfenstein...actually I need a whole pack of wolfenstein...in german and the full version....now are you the one who can help me or are you not, cause if not, I dont want to waste my time with you and I want you to know that I was never here....
