-=seany=- 5 Posted December 9, 2009 (edited) Start the updater and select item 1 and press enter, this will open a web interface after a few seconds. If not browse to http://localhost:16333Note to Vista/7 UAC users: Please run the application "As Administrator" (Right click) This worked fine for me on Vista, I then tried to run it on XP64 and nothing happened. No browser window opens and when I enter http://localhost:16333 into my browser it just shows the default, "page cannot be displayed" error. can anyone give me some advice? thanks PS thanks for the great mod and the effort you have put into it. I must say however that I am not a fan of Six Updater, the majority of people don't want to have multiple 3rd party applications installed just for managing one mod for a game. I don't understand why you could not have used the already established AddonSync? With Six updater I have discovered I have a new folder in my "vista profile name folder" called ".gem", this annoys me, can I delete it? Edited December 9, 2009 by -=seany=-
Gladius 10 Posted December 9, 2009 All your questions have allready been answered, multiple times. I don't think so.Everytime I tell somebody that the SIX updater doesn't work for me, then I get answerded that I'm apparently too stupid to configure that updater propperly. And when you ask a question, then it gets flushed away in that giant dynamic discussion. All I was asking this time was to get some organisation into the different kinds of questions asked about ACE. An Fiach 10 Posted December 9, 2009 SixUpdater: "FILE does not exist in remote! mpmissions/co@12_ACE_Op_Cerberus.Chernarus_1_00.pbo.gz" Did an update now and saw that. Look at it, in the first version it was a misnamed mission file. delete that specific file from your mod file and you won't see it anymore. The updater sees it as an extra file because the name has been corrected to mpmissions/co@12_ACE_Op_Cerberus_1_00. Chernarus.pbo.gz

I didnt see that in the changelog. with the ease of the updater its clear that clients will be forever ahead of servers. Going forward, I am forced to halt updating until servers get ahead of me. SD_BOB 10 Posted December 9, 2009 Sickboy, I understand from one of the mods of a server that it is not possible to update the servers with the auto update (six updater) which would mean every time there are any changes or updates(even 1MB or so) they need to re-download the full mod and then upload to the servers. If this is true, i think its not a viable option. All you have to do is upload the mod once, then for any future updates just update your own game 1st using the update suite. Then make sure u have an ftp client that support the upload of newer files than are on the server. For e.g i use filezilla, when u go to upload the updated mod. All you have to do is tell the ftp client to only overwrite files if the source file is newer than the one on the server. That way your only uploading the files that have been modified in the update, thus not having to do the whole lot.
An Fiach 10 Posted December 9, 2009 It would be helpful if a forum mod would sort this out. A bit of work I know but it will just keep piling up.

whisper 0 Posted December 9, 2009 I absolutely doesn't get your point. :confused:Could it be that you don't understand me? I understand perfectly that you don't want to bother to search in this thread for answers to your questions. Too bad, because that would be the way for you to get all running fine, instead of blaming ACE team. We're in BI forum, sticking to their rule : this is not the ACE2 forum, this is the Addons & Mods, Complete forum, meaning there can be only 1 ACE2 thread. As stated, always nicely, by Sickboy, ACE have there own issues reporting system

Simon C 0 Posted December 9, 2009 I can confirm the bug with ammo crates and mag names is still there, it's also missing from the changelog... has the fix been applied to this version, or is it being worked on still? Posting this here because the ticket has been closed, and I think people would consider opening a new one as spamming. :p
Cool Breeze-ICON 10 Posted December 9, 2009 Hi, I have installed Six Updater 0.1.9 and gone through the web based install/update (option 1). The first issue I have is that when the second dos window appears it tries to load the web page (http://localhost:16333/main) and fails. I manual load the following page http://127.0.0.1:16333/main. Not sure if this is causing other issues but it seems to work. I follow the instructions and install CBA, ACE and ACEX. I load Arma 2 and ACE loads with version 0.1.182 :) I need to update to the latest version and after pressing option 2 it tells me that there is nothing to update, see below. Richey79 10 Posted December 9, 2009 (edited) Seriosuly, 75% of my clan is having trouble with Six Updater. Seems those who ran Addon Sync from the begining got their installed messed up as Six doesn't work for them now. And we had a training mission bound too start 40min ago.. We had to rar the updated files and sent them around lol.. Now i have no problem with Six, but if you could speed up the distribution to Addon Sync by Yoma, that would be great.Anyway, great job on this mod guys! I'm very impressed with the rate you are updating atm :) Cheers V0.9.1 of the Six updater is now working fine for me, and I got my original files using YAS - it knew exactly where to look for the files, too. Persevere, because it's all plain sailing once you get it set up. Just make sure that on the web page you go to -> Presets (right hand side)-> Beta Edit, and select @Ace & @Acex as mods (near the bottom of the page; 'add existing mod'). Click update. Then press 'Main' on the right side of the page. Select 'install and update', and set it all going. The original FAQ is clearer than these instructions: http://dev-heaven.net/wiki/six-arma-updater/Web. I'm using Win7 64 bit and Firefox, for what it's worth. Should work automatically from there. Next time, you just launch the Six updater and select '2'. It got 0.1.184 for me automatically (within about 3 minutes) - and originally I downloaded from Kelly's Heroes. BoxiouS 10 Posted December 9, 2009 I have two folders in my user config folder related to ACE. One has the name 'ACE' the other'ACE_1260280801' I take it the latter is the later version; and they both contain the same files. I edited the clientside_config in the 'ACE_1260280801' one, but I'm confused as to wether I'll have to do this everytime I update the game. Had no problems with the updater, nifty bit of kit in fact, saves loads of pissing about, and have played ACE without issue in the (albeit small amount) of time I've played. Great it is too:) I've searched the Wiki and this thread so apologies if I've missed the answer.
