Seal Team Six Campaign release (SP)

Recommended Posts

Well my track record for installing stuff isn't great.

The thing is its all in the @CBA folder which is in the zip file so not much can go wrong there.

I will check it again though....there are alot of other files in there - docs, serverkey etc and i'm not sure what to do with those. I'll let you know.

Right now i'm stuck on trying to rescue the informant at the end of mission 3, those snipers are really giving me some problems....spent most of today trying different tactics....so far no luck but i'm enjoying myself.

As long as you unzipped it and placed it in your arma directory and added the proper @CBA command to the shortcut. The only reason I asj is because some one else was having this problem, and after realizing they installed CBA wrong it worked. Not saying you did this, but make sure it's been unzipped. Glad your enjoying the mission. That informant is well guarded.

I can´t complete the LHD mission. I really searched the whole ship, even the hangar but it seems that some guy is still missing.

Did you check above and below decks?

dammit, just before I killed the last target in Operation Hunted, the extraction Helo was shot down!! lol

Should I wait or start the mission over and is there a set amount of time to complete the objectives?

I had a save a little while before I got the message that the helo was shot down, so I reverted to that point a couple of times to see if it was just something random that might have happened but it kept happening.

I did take a long long time in between each objective though, it was dark by the time I got to the last target, :P I play real slow

All of them

You might have to revert. First time I've heard of this problem.

No time limit. Hmm i wonder if it ran out of fuel. Sorry about your woes. I put that trigger in to let players know that if something catastrophic happened to the extraction bird such as a random ai crash you wouldn't waist your time playing through the whole mission just to be left stranded. A good hint would be to make sure the area is clear before eliminating the last target or at least most of the threats. This way they don't take down the extraction bird. Also the mission starts at 1420, so you must have been playing a few hours before this happened. I'll look into the fuel issue with the helo's and see what I can find.

Sick,

Just FYI about some issues I'm seeing. I know you're aware of some of them but thought you might like some more feedback:

1. Sometimes have issues with team members not being controllable. But, usually I can use team switch to go to one of them and then back to the leader and then all men become controllable.

2. Sometimes have problems with the helos landing to drop us off. This has happened a couple of times in the second mission and once on the third mission but does not happen every time obviously.

3. In mission 3, after completing the second task to kill the general, the voice comes on the radio saying that the task is complete and to proceed to next mission, however no new task is given. I am now stuck with nothing to do.

4. I'm not sure why but sometimes in the amphibious missions my team members wander into the water and die. I don't know if this is an ARMA issue or an issue with your campaign but I never experienced this in the official campaign. The men would swim instead of die in the official campaign.

1. That is a problem with the game itself. I just assign them to the group leader. No special scripting or unit editing. Can you issue orders? If they are too far away you will have to order them to your location. Commonly mistaken for a bug.

2. I've tested these missions countless times and have never experienced the helo's not landing properly. If you are using mods such as SLX or anything that alters AI, you will get botched insertions. I'm using 1.4 steam version if that helps. Also in a game with such realistic AI, anything can and will happen.

3. Arma 2 has many bugs, and one of them being that you will experience trigger failure. It's rare, but does happen. This can screw up user made missions. If you've ever made a mission you will learn that no matter how perfect you make it, shit will still screw up occasionally. Hopefully this will be fixed in a patch. Save often.

4. Deff not a problem with my campaign, However I'm thinking it's a problem with the Island addon.

Thanks for your info. I hope this helps. My new campaign hopefully will not have these problems.

Thanks for the reply. In response:

1. definitely not too far away from them. Actually, the first time that it happened we had all just got out the boat on the first mission. But, that happened before you enabled the team switch. Since then it has happened twice more but I've been able to use team switch to solve the issue.

2. The only mods I have are the ones you require.

3. hmm, I think I can get a previous save and see if it triggers correctly the second time around. I will keep you informed.

4. BTW, this has happened 3 or 4 times to me only on the first Chenarus mission.

Well, it looks like using the SLX mod is a no go eventually, like you warned us about. During mission 4 my squad loves to surrender to the superior number of enemies in the first camp.

The SLX mod is great stuff, but it causes to many problems with the BIS and user missions.

Yeah sorry bro sorry. I still use SLX. I just remove the AI changing Pbo's.

SLX_AI_TurnMove.pbo, SLX_AI_TurnMove.pbo, SLX_FindCover.pbo, SLX_GL3.pbo, SLX_Mod_Veh_Core.pbo.

Hey this is a great campaign so far. I've only completed the first 2 missions but I wanted to say that I'm having a blast so far. If I finish it in a timely fashion I'll come back to give you some input. It's a great campaign so far, thanks for sharing it with us.

Hi first i would like to thank you for making a great seal team campaign and i respect the fact that there must have been quite some work done with it. But there are a few thinks you might want to consider for making it even better.

* Why do i only have a 3 member team? in the first mission this is ok but in the mission when i have to assasinate all the crime bosses in al the towns this just aint enough! Sure seals operate in small teams but rarly in 3 member teams. Usually in 4 to 6 man teams.

* Where is my medic? This is something that needs to be added there is always a mecial specialist in every spec ops team.

* In fact i like to see to have every team member have a speciality , A demo expert , A medic , Machine gunner etc etc. Offcourse you could give a machine gun could be picked in the briefing menu.

* More realitic missions. Recon , forward air contol etc etc

* Why am i inserted my a marine corps huey? Give us a navy bird! After all we are part of the navy !

* Battle clearance! Had numerous times i got wacked because i could not drag my buddy,s into a save place to give first aid! And lets be honoust Its so seal team like! Leave no man behind!

Just some ideas other than that i love the campaign!

Thanks for the info. I'll try to incorporate these in the next campaign, but I can only use what's available to me. I don't make addons, but I'll look at some community made navy birds. The reason why sadly there is only three members on some missions is because the F.A.V. only has three seats. My second campaign is 50% complete and I'm proud to say that it's going to kick some ass. I've been researching some missions the seals have been tasked with and I'm making missions based on these. Hopefully someone will release some good Seal addons I can use. Thanks!

Sick1,

Not sure if this has been mentioned before but every time I click on "Continue" on the end mission debrief screen the game locks up. I've tried this by completely the 2nd mission and just using the "left shift + num (-) + endmission" cheat and still the same lock up when I click on "Continue". It can't "tab + Alt" to the desktop and when I "ctrl+alt+del" and bring up the task manager it says A2 is not responding.

Other then this I like the campaign a lot. Thanks again bud.

Maybe one of your addons is not installed properly. I've not had this complain yet. I would double check everything.

How many addons does your next campaign include?

Some people have complained about high number of addons, I agree.

I have not played your campaign yet so I don't know how heavily the chosen addons are used in the missions, so I cannot talk about you, but its known fact that many times users use addons (on addons or in missions) without any planning before hand, they just put them in because its "cool'.

It is always good to use addons only when they really make big difference. Quickest example would be that someone includes 100mb weapon pack addon and only uses 1 pistol out of the 50 guns found in the addon. Again, I have not played your campaign so I can't talk about you, just giving examples.

Yeah, it was my first campaign and I've learned a lot from what people tell me. I'm about 50% done with the next one and I'm hoping it only uses three. I do however believe that most new Arma 2 players need to learn how to properly use addons to get most out of the game.

The campaign is decent, just try to be more imaginative in the objectives, most of them it's go to point X and kill everyone (and then perhaps put a satchel charge). Also, try to be a bit more realistic in the mission design/difficulty, in the 4th mission i killed 48 soldiers, one jeep and one T72 with 3 specops. 48 vs 3?

You dont need an addon for a navy bird. Use the stock navy blackhawk in the game. Hell it even says navy on its tail!

Also as a tip for future missions. You dont always need direct action missions where there is allways major gun fights. For example make a mission where you need to lase a certain target for simulated naval artillery of a laser guided bomb. In these mission special forces try to avoid contact to accomplish there missions. Same goes for special recon. In real life special forces are not equiped for long gunfire ingagements when they are seriously outnumbered. 75 % Its all about avoiding contact and when detected they react extremely agressive to confuse and to get the hell out of dodge to fight another day. Dont get me wrong i,m glad someone finaly made a seal campaign in its pretty good. Like turin Turambar said make the objectives more realistic and interessting. My advice is Base them on real events the navy seals have been in. For example arresting war criminals , Intell gathering , Destroying scud launchers etc etc . Really there is plenty of stuff on the internet covering real ops special forces have been in Use it to your advantage! Special forces would!
