I think you need the oac addon to. Im not sure though but I think that is needed for anything caa1.

Hi I downloaded the CAA1 mod and I installed it.Then I installed the CWR mod in CAA1 folder and run the game with Launcher and selected all mods

but in the game appare this message "The Cold War Rermed_ mod request the version 1.14 of the application ".How to upgrade CAA1 to version 1.14?

It's not the CAA version, it's the ArmA II version which is not good. It is written for ArmA 1.14, ArmA II is 1.05 right now, in the configs the "required version" line has to be corrected to at least or lower than 1.05, the mod "thinks" you try to play it with an earlier version of ArmA. It has to be corrected by the authors.

how to play the CWR with Arma II?

Banderas post is very clear, i think that for personal use only there is no problem in editing the config files.

It is simpler if you put up OFP Island Pack through Yoma's addonsync, it has Everon, Malden, Kolgujev and Nogova along with a lot of OFP islands.

Anyone else getting crashes with CAA1?

I can open the editor, select any of the CAA1 islands, place a soldier, enter the game. I get maybe ten minutes play before the game crashes to desktop.

Doesn't happen with any other maps.

I'd love help track down the problem. I'm using CAA1 from Yoma with the original Arma plants.

I had this bug too @ testing the cwr Islands with CAA1... O.o

the empty Russian bmp2 from caa1 is crashing the game too when i use it with ace.

I don't know how ace2 is coded but if its using a replacement config there might be problems. Inside of caa1 the bmp2 of russia is part of the extra vehicles addon. Try ace2 with the standalone extra vehicles addon and see if the problem persists.

I think I'll try to eliminate ACE entirely, first of all. The standalone pack is quite a large download for my limited connection to cope with.

If I can run CAA1 without ACE for an hour or so, it'll eliminate some of the possible causes.

Anyone else tried CAA1 + Ensk Map - http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=5597 ? It looks simply awesome in Arma 2.

Btw no crashes here at all running CAA1 after many hours of gameplay (no ACE here).

Other cool maps (imo) tested in Arma 2 - some need a quick edit in the config file to change the required version, its a 15 secs job :

Nice catch.

I've just played for an hour (well, almost) without ACE, without any crashes.

Is this something that needs to be fixed in CAA1 or in ACE? I'll file a bug if it's the latter.

oh yeahh i cant play the map sakakah al jawf with caa1

it comes the loading screen and thats it.

It takes a loonngg... time to load this map, youll have to wait, but itll load. :p

Do you load the Ensk Objects in a differend Mod folder ?

I have the objects and the island .pbo's in the same and sometimes get a Error that says:

Error: Device freed

Any idea ?

No, in the same addons folder, i simply added all objects files into the island folder.

Ok, but i have more questions. :D

1. Have you preview pictures of Ensk, Afghan Village ect. (if you go to "Editor" and chose the island ?

2. How can i remove all those Sahrani Islands that come with CAA1, what pbo's should i remove ?
