-Sof-Jacksonfive 10 Posted August 4, 2009 Surely everyone can appreciate a little constructive criticism yes? How would you rate your level of satisfaction with forum moderators. 10 Being highest.. 1 the Lowest.. Please keep the post friendly and constructive so we may improve public relations. Windexglow 10 Posted August 4, 2009 They do a good job keeping things in order, but sometimes they take it too far.

-Sof-Jacksonfive 10 Posted August 4, 2009 I dont see any reason why it would be removed unless people get out of hand. Just a simple poll to see how satisfied customers are with the forum moderators
weegee_101 0 Posted August 4, 2009 I think the moderators do an excellent job. While they're strict they keep the forums clean of the crud you'd find in the Blizzard and Stardock forums. Honestly, I've never understood why some people have complaints with the moderators here.

I've seen them (particularly one) act childish at times. Any negative criticism is pushed towards massive topics no one reads ect. Stardock forums are a lot cleaner than blizzards which I had the misfortune of visiting today. Felt like I was redirected to 4chan or another awful site like that.. Felt like I was redirected to 4chan or another awful site like that.. a certain mr placebo seems to take things a bit too far, maybe enjoys his power a bit too much. seen him have some of the most retarded and petty arguments on other forums such as gamespot and then acts all high and mighty when a few people argue on this forum. other mods seem fine though
-Sof-Jacksonfive 10 Posted August 4, 2009 Good post so far, looks like the majority are happy. Lets not use any actual names however... as im sure that will be a quick way to get the thread closed
Bulldogs 10 Posted August 4, 2009 Barrens chat.. nothing like it. I see a lot of people complaining about getting redirected by moderators, but I understand the redirection. They mainly do it when people start posting gripes in the troubleshooting forums. I don't see any problem with posting complaints but I can't understand why people think the troubleshooting forum is there for anything other than troubleshooting.... would you go to an Italian restaurant and ask for Peking Duck? BeerHunter 0 Posted August 4, 2009 Being a former moderator on a couple of other forums I think , considering the trash talking and personal attacks that go on in here , they are extremely tolerant sometimes. Topics tend to get locked when they turn sour rather than posters being banned , so be thankfull for their tolerance. Remember that there is no such thing as "free speech" and "freedome of expression" in a forum. You are here because the forum owner (BIS??) allows you to participate and they are free to withdraw that priviledge at their discretion. Mods are assigned the responsibility of "policing" the forums to enforce the forum owners rules.

Bulldogs 10 Posted August 4, 2009 wonder if the moderators are voting ;) Haha.. hope so :) In all honesty, I doubt they'll lock this thread. It's a feedback thread, and while it might not be in the right place, it's still handy and I'm sure they're just as curious as the rest of us to see how it turns out. Bulldogs 10 Posted August 4, 2009 btw.. my hat's off to Jacksonfive for putting it in the general forums. The one about how well arma runs on your system in the troubleshooting forums always makes me laugh. Why would you even look at the troubleshooting forums and vote on the thread unless you were having issues.

bangtail 0 Posted August 4, 2009 (edited) If they lock this thread, I'll give them a 10. Seconded. I doubt it's too much fun being a moderator on these forums and they DON'T get paid for it either. For those who don't like the moderation, the game etc, please go play/do something else if you're not happy. Life is too short to make a career out of complaining about a $40.00 video game, the related forums and staff. They are working on a patch. It will be ready "when it's done". That's it, that's all. BIS aren't going to change the way they work after 10 years so you deal with it or you move on. NOTE : I don't necessarily agree with everything BIS does. andersson 285 Posted August 4, 2009 They do a good job. Alot of new people joining are spamming the forums with threads with already existing topics, sofar I havent seen a topic getting closed unfairly(?). I guess for a new user it must be frustrating to get your thread closed, but as the info/question already exist in another thread if you search i think its good. If not the forum would be cluttered with threads asking/discussing the same thing and information will be lost in the mess. I also have no problems when the moderators answers back to insults from users. The moderators are users just like us and should be treated with common sense as all should be. I gave them a high score, but not 10 as they sometimes contradict each other :D

The typical juvenile thinking that being a moderator adds more neurons to brains and suddenly knows whats better for the others, so they take the freedom to control other people actions. No, my friend, there is freedom of speech everywhere, both the forum and the users benefit from forum posts, there is no privilege of using a forum especially when people paied money for their product. Sometimes the progress comes from contradictory discussions, not to mention that banning people lowers the forum exposure so the traffic etc. The fact they allow the freedom of expression is a plus for this forum, that's why most of the people voted in their favor. You really need to grow up. Edited August 4, 2009 by afp

You really need to grow up. What? You need to go back and re read his post. You have taken his post the wrong way. He is saying generally the same thing you are. 'The forums are moderated well' in a nutshell. No need to go bananas. Oh and if you haven't noticed some stuff in these forums are completely ludicrous. The Mods have been very lenient compared to what I believe they should have been. Also, no there is not (Absolute) free speech and freedom of expression everywhere. (At least in the way many people like to take that these days....) Legally, everything on the forums, BIS has to own up to. They have the right to control what they need or want to. Aswell, this thread looks like it may be technically breaking the forums rules that everyone agreed to. Its not specified exactly under the heading, but the heading includes it in the generalization. :P "§18) No public discussion on how the forum is moderated" :P
Placebo 29 Posted August 4, 2009 I voted an 8, but then I'm unbiased. Thanks for the poll but I know how good or bad a job the moderators are doing so not needed ;)
