because of people like you and these forums are shut down.

When released, then release.

Thats the last official post in their thread. On the one hand it seem there was some beaf, on the other hand the stuff might indeed get released.

I use it together with the Eurofighter, and just have kept the Il76.pbo. :D

As I said, maybe they will change their minds...But then it would go in "Complete Addons" anyway.

And dont take my word for 100%, I just played on a russian server once, and talked with one of the Goonsquad members, who told me all this. (According to him they did some videos together, where his clan did the voices for the american pilots) But I believe him, he was a mature guy, and also if you look at the youtube videos, especially at the one with the MiG-25 and the MiG-31, you can see that the addons are finished, and the video is about a year old.

Ololol, some things never change i see, i just want the addon no matter where its from or if permissions were given.

Personally i rather have one original completely custom made addon instead of 5 converts.

Sarmat has some talented folks so why isnt it possible to make something from scratch instead?

If the original maker agrees a convert is ok i guess, i didnt follow the topic enough to know if permissions were given or not, yet nothing better than to make something directly for the ArmA engine instead of just converting it.

Only my 2 kopeks

Hm I actually prefer five converts to one completly custom made...If they are made well :D

But seriously, especially MiG-25 and MiG-31 in the video dont look converted, and if they are, they must have put weeks of work in them nontheless. Complete and perfect cockpit, all the advanced texturing, the model finetuning...

Also the guys who started the "witch-hunt" in this thread never gave any proofs, it was just pages and pages of hollow accusations. So I can understand if the SARMAT-guys are pissed at the community here, although I hope they change their mind.

No proof was really needed. Sarmat always said that all models and textures were not theirs. They had permission in most cases I believe, but I can't vouch for that. If there are no theft issues then I see no reason to crucify them. They certainly can do whatever they want. Conversion is certainly a fast way to fame, but is still an integral and necessary part of this community (for example some add ons just deserve to pass through to the next generations of ArmA) The problem is that if it was XX's add-on for arma it shouldn't automatically become YY's add-on for arma2 as it sadly does in some cases.

Carried on from OFP? Seriously, look at the MiG-31 in their video. I highly doubt thats even based upon something from OFP.

Same goes for their Tu 95, Tu 160 and Tu 22. It could be something out of Flight Simulator X or some other 3D model if you want to deny the possibility they did it on their own, but still, these things look so good in their videos there must have been a lot of work involved.

They are from FSX. Not form OFP.

Well that was the joke ;):D

The only "MiG-31" for FSX is the one Clint Eastwood flew.

There was a proper Mig 31 and Mig 25 released for FSX over a year ago as payware. I think it was part of a larger pack though.

EDIT - I've just been told it was made by Sergey Bunevich for 2004 and upgraded and ported to FSX as payware

My thinking exactly. They have TWELVE beautiful planes, would be such a shame if they wouldnt be released.

As long as the actual authors don't mind and give permission then there is no problem.

However we all know, as history has taught us that not everyone in this community is honest enough to seek permission or respect IP and copyright. ;)

I hate to be a skeptic but it does make you wonder why there are so many unfinished aircraft shown all at once. Most of the other guys who make addons tend to have focused on just one addon at a time (i.e RKSL's Eurofighter) Through out the creation of the addon (WIP stages) alot of detailed pictures/videos showing individual fine details that have been created/changed.

That said, the creator is not complied to inform the community of his/her progress but it does help to bring clarity to whole "Who made that model?" situation...

1 more point. To those who "Don't care" how the addon makes it to the game, ask yourself this: If you were to spend weeks gathering images, drawing sketches/blueprints, successfully making them digital and then going onto make the entire thing from scratch in 3D (potentially costing £££ in tuition fees) How would you feel if your work was then snapped up for free and put into a game by someone else who refuses to acknowledge your existance?

I don't know if Sarmat rip their models from other games/copyright holders and i'm not going to make assumptions.

If they do, they're taking credit where its not due and whoever deserves that credit will be less than happy if they find out...

On the other hand, let's not declare them guilty until proven innocent, just because they're russian modellers;if they ripped them, I'm sure we'll find out soon enough; these things tend to come out quick.
