Why does birds fly with their landing gear down?

I know this has nothing to do with anything, i've have just been wondering how it could be that BIS decided to make birds fly with their legs stretched out, it looks kinda silly. Everyone knows, that when a bird takes off it tucks up its legs just like a plane does with its wheels.

Its the crows, i noticed the streched legs and thought they looked very funny :D .

There are only 2 birds in Arma II, the crow and the eagle, but the eagle is flat.

They replaced the seagull with the crow wich is a nice sight in the woods, but when you are near the coast or aboard the Khe Sahn you have crows flying around instead of seagulls.

And in Arma 1 the seagulls and eagles werent bullet proof..

Gotta agree the landing gear has annoyed me a bit, but atleast crows don't scream as much as seagulls.

For some reason you can't land your bird anymore in ARMA2. Before you just lowered your altitude and your bird came to a halt while standing on the surface (bringing its wings in)...

Now it doesn't do that, and just looks funny.
