ArmA 2 Buglist - Content related bugs only

Here's a list of all minor bugs found so far in ArmA 2. I don't use the unofficial community bugtracker because there's just too many bugs in this list to be submitted individually. That's why I decided to create a dedicated thread here in the "Troubleshooting" section of the forums.

I know these are details, but hey, this game is all about them! Most of these bugs are rather very easy to fix (I know, cause I dealt with many similar ones in Red's Fix mod) - usually a matter of a few minutes, so let's hope this list will shrink with every new patch.

And one more thing - if you really don't have anything to suggest or add to this list, please save it and don't post. I'd really like to keep this thread as clean as possible.

WEAPONS

M1911:

  • there's a small shadow issue on the model [IMAGE]

M4A1 (all variants w/o grenade launcher and with RIS):

  • there's a small hole in the front sight (View - Pilot) [IMAGE]

M4A1 (variant w/o RIS):

  • front sight is missing this small part [IMAGE]

M16A2 (variant with M203):

  • unlike the M16A2 (w/o GL) [IMAGE], ironsight is still in low quality [IMAGE]
  • there are some missing polys on the model [IMAGE]

M16A4 (all variants):

  • all M16A4s should "use" the M4's muzzle flash [IMAGE]

Mk48 MOD 0:

  • reloading animation bug (View - Pilot) [IMAGE]

G36C:

  • there are many unmerged vertices/polys on the model, it really needs to be reworked [IMAGE],[IMAGE]

Bizon:

  • the muzzle flash and the smoke coming from the barrel are just way too big / apparent [IMAGE]

AK107:

  • there's this small part that comes out of the gun when shooting or when the magazine is empty [IMAGE]

PKP Pecheneg:

  • feedtray cover animation is slightly "messed up" [IMAGE]

RPG-7:

  • PG-7V and PG-7VL look the same when loaded [IMAGE], but are different when on the ground [IMAGE]

VEHICLES

Towing Tractor:

  • headlights look as if they had no source (only the light cones are visible) [IMAGE]

HMMWV (all variants, including M1097 Avenger and Ambulance):

  • analog speedometer doesn't go above ~ 65 km/h
  • rear left doors are significantly darker that the other ones [IMAGE]

HMMWV (M2):

  • interior is not visible when playing as gunner [IMAGE]

HMMWV (Ambulance):

  • all lights (headlights, tailights, brakelights) are always seem as if they were constantly switched on [IMAGE]
  • dashboard backlight doesn't work properly [IMAGE]

HMMWV (M240, armored) and M1097 Avenger:

  • dashboard backlight is significantly brighter than in other HMMWV versions

MTVR (all variants):

  • analog speedometer and tachometer show ridiculous values
  • driver doesn't touch the steering wheel while driving [IMAGE]
  • fenders have weird holes on both sides of the truck [IMAGE]

LAV-25:

  • vehicle's smoke grenades "work" only for about 5 seconds

AAVP7A1:

  • analog gauges are always lit, even when the engine is not running
  • there is some problem with shadows on the driver when his hatch is open [IMAGE]

M270 MLRS:

  • analog gauges don't display correctly during the day [IMAGE]
  • analog speedometer doesn't work at all

M1A1:

  • the driver's hatch shouldn't be open when the turret is moving [IMAGE]

MQ-9:

  • there's no transition between the "static" and "blurred" versions of the propeller, they're both always visible [IMAGE]

UH-1Y:

  • observer's (co-pilot) horizontal angle of view is not limited, which results in this [IMAGE]

MH-60S:

  • analog gauges and MFDs are lit, even when the engine is turned off
  • there are some missing polygons visible in View - Cargo [IMAGE],[IMAGE],[IMAGE] and View - Pilot [IMAGE]
  • the lights come out of nowhere [IMAGE]
  • side gunners cannot see the exterior body of the helicopter when aiming down the ironsights, they also can't see the elevator [IMAGE],[IMAGE]

AH-1Z:

  • MFDs are hardly readable (if at all) during the day

F-35B:

  • weapon bay doors do not open at all
  • there's a small interior shadow issue with the MFD [IMAGE]

MV-22:

  • there's some problem with this small window (View - Pilot) [IMAGE]
  • the "destroyed version" of the model often tends to turn upside down and partially sink into the ground [IMAGE]

C-130J:

  • artificial horizon (both analog and MFD) doesn't show the pitch
  • there are some untextured polygons on the propellers (View - Cargo) [IMAGE]
  • side doors won't open [IMAGE]
  • wheels "clip" throught the landing gear bay doors when retracted [IMAGE]
  • there's a small hole between the tail fin section and the fuselage [IMAGE]
  • there are some shadow artifacts (probably due to unoptimized shadow LOD) on the tail section [IMAGE]

RHIB:

  • water is still not visible when looking through the "windshield" [IMAGE]
  • the Mk19's muzzle flash is way too big [IMAGE]

UAZ (all variants):

  • dashboard backlight doesn't work at all

Utility Truck "KAMAZ" (all variants):

  • analog speedometer shows incorrect values (~ 10 km/h and more (depends on how fast it's going) above the actual speed)

Ural (all variants):

  • the cabin's rear window can't be broken

Ural (Ammunition):

  • dashboard backlight doesn't work at all

Ural (ZU-23):

  • gunner doesn't move with the gun (View - Pilot), which results in this [IMAGE]

Vodnik (all variants):

  • analog speedometer doesn't show the actual speed (the faster it's going the bigger difference between the actual speed and analog speedometer value is)
  • analog tachometer doesn't go above ~ 31 (x100) RPM

Vodnik (2xPK):

  • rear mounted MG: there's one bullet visible while reloading [IMAGE]

BM-21 Grad:

  • the gunner's sight is completely unusable [IMAGE]

BRDM-2 (all variants):

  • reflectors can't be seen from inside [IMAGE]

BTR-90 (all variants):

  • analog speedometer doesn't work correctly (e.g. it shows 40 km/h when the actual speed is 90 km/h)

BMP-2:

  • these two lights look strange [IMAGE]
  • the Konkurs 9M113 launcher is still visible after the tank's been destroyed [IMAGE]

BMP-2 (HQ):

  • another problem with the lights, just look for yourself [IMAGE]

BMP-2 (Ambulance):

  • appears to have the third light misplaced [IMAGE]

BMP-3:

  • one of the lights doesn't seem to work properly [IMAGE]

T-72 (all variants):

  • the main gun doesn't seem to rotate along with the turret when viewing from some distance [IMAGE]

Mi-8 (all variants) and Mi-17 (all variants):

  • artificial horizon doesn't show the pitch [IMAGE]
  • cockpit compass doesn't show the actual direction
  • passenger capacity should be limited to 15, not 16, because this is what happens with the last passenger [IMAGE]

Ka-52 (all variants):

  • dashboard backlight doesn't work at all [IMAGE]
  • (static) main rotor textures are missing (View - Pilot, View - Gunner) [IMAGE],[IMAGE]

Mi-24 (all variants):

  • both artificial horizons don't show the pitch
  • the cockpit clock doesn't show the actual time [IMAGE]
  • when the side doors are open, windows are invisible from inside [IMAGE]
  • one of the distant LOD models is almost completely untextured [IMAGE]

Su-25 (all variants):

  • landing gears are visible even when they're up (some distant LOD) [IMAGE]

Su-34:

  • some shadow partially overlaps the MFDs making them too dark to read sometimes [IMAGE]
  • the cockpit HUD is unreadable during the day
  • there's something wrong with upper part of the cockpit HUD [IMAGE]
  • jet engine sounds can't be heard from inside the cockpit

Car "SKODA" (all variants):

  • dashboard backlight doesn't work at all

Hatchback "GOLF":

  • analog gauges are always lit

Old hatchback:

  • dashboard backlight doesn't seem to work properly

Pick-up "SUNDAT" (all variants, excluding civilian "covered" version):

  • textures on the steering wheel are not mapped correctly [IMAGE]

Pickup (MG):

  • the cabin's rear window appears to be missing (View - Gunner) [IMAGE]

Off-road "COYOTA" (all civilian variants):

  • player can't get into the vehicle from the passenger side

Tractor:

  • tailights and brakelights don't work at all

VAZ (Militia):

  • siren doesn't work properly when the lights are switched on

PV3S:

  • analog gauges are always lit
  • speedometer has two needles [IMAGE]
  • some parts of the truck appear untextured when looking throught the cabin's rear window [IMAGE]

T-34

  • headlights look weird and misplaced [IMAGE]

MEN

All USMC soldiers:

  • the Modular Tactical Vest's apperance changes when shot [IMAGE]

Grenadier (USMC, Force Recon):

  • the soldier appears to have the third leg (or a tail) at a certain LOD [IMAGE]

Officer (USMC):

  • head is visible in View - Pilot [IMAGE]

Commander (USMC):

  • head is visible in View - Pilot [IMAGE]

Sniper (with ghillie suit; USMC and Russia):

  • can see through his body in View - Pilot [IMAGE]

OBJECTS

Frigate:

  • there's a small shadow issue on the main gun [IMAGE]

UH-1Y Wreck:

  • mounted M134 does not have a muzzle flash

Anti-air radar:

  • antenna animation (rotation) is still being played after the radar's been destroyed

Generator trailer:

  • player can't access the top of it because of a ladder bug

MAP

Chernarus:

035091:

  • log pile floats in the air [IMAGE]

053103:

  • another log pile in the air [IMAGE]

046057:

  • bench stuck in the wall [IMAGE]

061045:

101099:

  • this roadsign shows the wrong direction to Msta [IMAGE]

120062:

  • this advertising pillar apparently lacks the collision LOD [IMAGE]

126107:

  • rock wall floating in the air [IMAGE]

134110:

  • there's a tree on the road [IMAGE]

MISCELLANEOUS

Uncategorized:

  • glasses are untextured in the "Edit player" section [IMAGE]
  • there are some disorted plane trails in the sky at zenith[IMAGE]
  • shadows are not displayed correctly in weapons optics when in direct sunlight [IMAGE]
  • some of the arm and hand signal animations look really weird sometimes [IMAGE],[IMAGE]
  • mountains in the horizon are not always displayed correctly [IMAGE]

The list is still incomplete so expect more entries soon!

Settings: everything on very high, fillrate = 100%, antialiasing disabled

There's also a bug with the c130 where the retracted gear pokes through the gear bay door. Also there's a bit of weird shading on some parts with the shadow lod poking through some bits.

Add: red civ jeep's all "embark zones" are at the driver's side.

I've just added some new bugs. Here they are:

C-130J:

  • side doors won't open [IMAGE]
  • wheels "clip" throught the landing gear bay doors when retracted [IMAGE]
  • there's a small hole between the tail fin section and the fuselage [IMAGE]

Mi-8 (all variants) and Mi-17 (all variants):

  • passenger capacity should be limited to 15, not 16, because this is what happens with the last passenger [IMAGE]

Off-road "COYOTA" (all civilian variants):

  • player can't get into the vehicle from the passenger side

PV3S:

  • some parts of the truck appear untextured when looking throught the cabin's rear window [IMAGE]

As you can see, I also merged the Mi-8 and Mi-17 into one category, since they have exactly the same bugs.

- AI, which is far away is displayed jerking

- Vodnik 2xPk the backside pk contains one bullet despite of the fact that it is empty

UAZ bug, sometimes you can't see driver from 3d person after switching gunner/driver position with AI, and when looking from the gunners position you see a soldier standing between front seats holding invisible gun.

ur first point, about there being a missing bit on front site, its not, its just the angle, the front iron site is a verticle peace, with a peace coming off sloping down an back towards the weapon...

BUGS:

MTVR - has bad manoeuvring (slow turning wheels, wrong traction), KAMAZ is more better

SOME SOLDIERS with laser marker or satchels has problem witch change weapon mod (semi, full, burst, granades, granade launcher) - they can't change it

- man without gun can't peer to sides (but if I press key for peer, so guy acting as I do it this - slow walk)

- man which have gun in peaceful mod and he kneel, so if player want overlie, so he standing and after that overlie, .... but why???

MAP problem - I have only horizontal coordinates, but vertical hadn't numbers (I tried zooming, but without results)

Bugs:

Gun Launched ATGMs - BMP3/t90 do not function they are more like a bullet than a missile.

BTR90 ATGM: Flies straight up into the sky around about 2km.

Weapon: PG7V and PG7VL share the same model if loaded to RPG. But dropped to the ground the different models appear.

G36 "Kollimatorvisier" (red dot sight) is missing since V.1.01.

CUSTOM SQUAD LOGO is hidden under the soldier's arm !! please fix it to make it visible !!!

Yeah, and this is a very constructive post. Please, I already explained why I didn't use the bugtracker.

Confirmed bugs (will add more later):

WEAPONS

M16A2 (variant with M203):

Graphical issues - Unit models

Dont know if its fixed in final but the 1.01beta:

-Heads missing looking through scopes etc on some units maybe 100 meters away ca. think it was some Insurgents and Napa units.

-USMC units doing handsignals from far got bloated hands (the squad leader with baseball cap).

-Spetsnaz holding Mk48 MG and crouchwalk stretches the arm a lot and underarm gets bloated while upperarm is tiny.

Sorry i dont have images, but it was things i remember from testing ARMA2 1.01beta. If fixed - ignore.

Not sure if anyone's noticed but it seems when you look through the gunsight in the BMP it sticks that sort of tint-ish, filter on your screen as if you're looking through the scope but when you come back out of scope, the tint stays on your screen unless you restart the game...

Not tried other vehicles yet but I've had it a few times now with the BMP.

Coloured circles:

Have you noticed the coloured circled in the sides of your screen, and when you turn about there is something there? It was in Arma1 also. I'd always see a white blurry circle in the sky before I saw a plane or chopper. Anyway it seems:

Empty vehicles, civiliants and wildlife: White blur circule

Enemy units: Red blur circle

Friendly units: Green blur circle

Its quite an immersion killer when there are coloured blurrs all over the sides of your screen, showing you where the enemy is (especally useful in multiplayer PVP, but not at all fair).

When i'm in the map view, i can see the coordinates on the left and right but not on the topand botom......

Hard to report position with this bug.

Do someone experienced the same issue and fixed it?

I did. I just wanted to state what's specifically wrong with the clock. All you did was to say that it doesn't match the time of your watch.

And by the way, the ironsight of the Makarov is off.

This is a problem with your monitor resolution and the size arma.cfg is rendering to your system.

Goto my documents, find your Arma2 profile folder, open the document arma.cfg (or create one).

Find your resolution

e.g.

Resolution_W=1024; -Screen resolution (Width)

Resolution_H=768; -Screen resolution (Height)

and enter the following so they are the same, thusly filling your screen.

Render_W=1024;

Render_H=768;

Trigger Activation 'Radio Alpha' does not show up in my radio list.

Using same trigger, 'Radio Bravo -Juliet' show up as first option in radio list.
