BMD 1 Pack

I'm running XP SP3 nVidia 182.06 driver, 8800GTX not overclocked. Asus P5K3, XFI gamer and lots of ram etc etc.

Like i stated earlier when the ai are driving around etc it doesnt crash but when i create an empty one and climb on in make a sandwich open a beer it crashes, & locks my game. I can sometimes ALT/TAB and shut down the game. Or its a forced reboot.

It's not ArmA as i played for over an hour with over 8 mod folders loaded without a problem. But your beautiful addon doesn't like my setup.

hm, now i have problems...

i want to create a bmd with custom crew and troops in it.

I added an empty bmd-1p, 2 opfor tank crew soldiers, made gunner to be a group leader. then i wrote command into gunner: this moveingunner bmd1 and for driver: this moveindriver bmd1. they are inside.

1) when i try to order my 5 men squad to get in BMD in-game, they just stand and do nothing. then i tryed to make a waypoint to get in in editor, still nothing.

2) then i wrote command in each of those 5 men: this moveinturret [bmd1[1,2,3,4,5]]... they are inside.

in editor I order bmd driver to move to possition, nothin happens. then I connect bmd crew with my 5 troops leader(form a group). Now i place waypoint for leader of whole bmd troops and crew, to move to possition, still nothing.

any ideas?

Did not try anything related to troops and waypoints yet, but I had no crash untill now. I put 2 BMD into a simple mission, just to take a look around, jumped in and out, switched position, activated all the animations, ran it across sand and water. It goes perfectly smile_o.gif I also fired all the weapons and everything is ok.

And let me say I have a crap PC and because I love Chaos I just stuff every new addon into my Addon folder, as a Thanksgiving Turkey, and everything always works, lol smile_o.gif

I'll try some basic editing this evening an I'll report.

My system: P4 2.4Giga 1 G Ram, Ati Sapphire X1550 256, Windows XP Pro. Do not tell me it sucks, I already know  nener.gif

As for the crashes, I had them too. Not regularly. Game CTDs when I try either to open gunner's hatch or move him back. I tested both BMDs on ArmA 1.15.

First of all thanks to all for the kind word and Im glad that at least for some ppl its works smile_o.gif For those that it doesnt I'm very sorry and that we're looking into it but so far we ahve not been able to reproduce this crash. That is a big problem as we cant fix something we cant test. We are however 99% sure that its video framebuffer overload. There is a problem somewhere in the model that likely got overlooked because some systems do not exhibit this ctd.

However we are trying hard but its just the 2 of us. smile_o.gif Please be patient biggrin_o.gif Everything can be fixed smile_o.gif

Just Tried it quickly and its brilliant. Kudos. The model is amazing. Only problem was when i quit the mission the game crashed... if it happens again I'll post the error message. Very nice so far.. all we need is a paradrop script and then its finished!

yeah, transport plane, paradrop scripts and we have soviet invasion confirmed  pistols.gif  lol

still no crashes, i run it with ace 1.04 mod...

Game freezes when I go into 3rd person to take a look from the front side of BMD-1P. Doesn't happen to BMD-1. I think there is something about that BMD-1P. It froze both times I tried. Arma never froze for me before.

I went in the editor on Rahmadi driving the BMD1 and it was fine didn't crash at all for at least a good 5 mins. But as soon as i loaded the BMD1 P it locked up. No addons other than yours was loaded. I hope it helps. You can see the error above.

No problems here so far.  thumbs-up.gif   Great work on the BMD's!  On the BMD-1P, what is the NATO name of the AT missile system (Spigot)?  Your missile system would be a great addition to east troops if it were added.  This would give a much needed AT system for the east.  I know somebody already mentioned this but wanted to add my support too.

I believe the 9P135M-1 ATGM on the BMD-1P's can fire Spigot's and Spandrel's. I can't remember exactly though and I'm too lazy to check at the moment.

And I see he mentioned the AT-5 in the thread so that's the Spandrel. I'll have to look in game again to make sure though.

That's probably because he isn't using XEH. there's a few eventhandlers in the config that are probably conflicting. It would be a 2 minute fix to make it compatible.

EDIT:

Hmmm.... I just made it XEH compatible and I'm not seeing it actually burn still. There is an explosion when I destroy it and it definitely smokes after to but no flames.

ACE will aquire the MLODs to use in their future release smile_o.gif as soon as all CTDs have been rooted out.

Great addon and nice features!

(And no crashes by now.)

But: I have big problems placing an BMD in the editor with custom crew inside. For example: I want two crew soldiers as driver and gunner. The rest of the group should contain a medic, a mgunner, etc. How can I manage that?

And the BMD-1P ATGM thing is a nice idea, but it makes it more difficult to command and to use.

Yeah, but I don't get it working. I made a sqs with exactly your text, but it didn't work. But I have to admit that I've never been a friend to scripts. I just copy.

There is an error message that it doesn't like '|#| sleep 10;'
