MehMan 0 Posted July 11, 2008 *** If BIS gives us the chance and Silola does not retire  Retirement reschmierment, once you start you can't stop modding . You always try to change the aspect of the game to please you as much as it can, once you know you can do it.
i0n0s 0 Posted July 11, 2008 We hope that new addons or older ones would use our system icons naming etc. If you make them public as soon as they are confirmed, this would be possible
mcpxxl 2 Posted July 11, 2008 @i0n0s Nice to hear .. I think it isn´t so hard to understand. Simply thinking a little bit more "global" then only on your own addon. Last days on my business trip to "Cisco live 2008" , the new slogan was "The Power of Collaboration" hope we can bring it also a little bit more into this direction. mcpxxl 2 Posted July 11, 2008 And i hope that every island gets his missions ! Islands without them are like sex without a woman ... Arma 1: 562 Addons 312 Island 199 Missions loooool
nubbin77 0 Posted July 12, 2008 I too hope to see a lot more collaboration with this effort. Lots of people contributing their prefabs and projects. For example, if some one creates a map, a group of volunteers could populate a different square of the grid. Each person sending in the section when they are done. Map making would become much more quick and also with a lot more attention to detail (no one can focus on a large island forever). People could make generic city blocks and submit those, then people can piece them all together to make an urban environment. Even cooler with the sqf fucntionality - you can set it up in numerous ways, using the same island terrain to get completely different settings for different mission set ups. I would love to see missions be able to use these prefabs.
mcpxxl 2 Posted July 12, 2008 Thats right nubbin... But keep in mind that all things have their initial hight from the first "Bob the Builder" Project ;-) Anyway surely changing projects and meeting on servers to build up things is funny. As sample Last time i build up a long wall and the next one was running around tells ne that it is to near next to a house, so i just placed the whole wall a little bit away from the house and he could pass trough. That couldn´t be done in Bulldozer so you have to do: trail and error i think Sometime we waste more time by showing things and changing them, then building new ones lool. M.Andersson(SWE) 4 Posted July 16, 2008 Just watched the vid.... This opens up the creativity for us noobs aswell.. You just need the walls, doors and stuff to build with... I might even be able to create some myself. Simply amazing

wipman 1 Posted July 20, 2008 Hi, if we had any small island that had a kind of small city or village made with this detail: And this... And this... Hell, then we could begin to think in real and serious PvP gaming, urban sabotage missions, with perimeter patrols, snipers, spotters and tanks or APC's patrols. Or Search & Rescue missions... or Elimination missions. What i see in those screenshots look like real urban areas and not the fake chaotic "urban" enviroment that BIS sold us out in the fake and dead islands like Sahrani or South Sahrani. Oh wait... South Sahrani, Saharani and Reunited Sahrani are the shame island!! damn... how i didn't see it coming... >>:-( . Let's C ya
MehMan 0 Posted July 20, 2008 Jesus, you've got to be one of the most butthurt people on these forums. It's been explained several times over why Sahrani is the way it is. I still don't get why you have the confederate flag in your iwo jima flag rising picture.
Striker -GER- 0 Posted July 20, 2008 Come on, release it already!I can't wait *2 | This - is - simply - awesome| No more words! Really looking forward to the release Wipman already said it : With this amazing tool we can build the real thing!
mcpxxl 2 Posted July 20, 2008 Yes you can, but no wonders ! Keep that in mind please because we do not make a new engine ;-) Again i can only say, we hope that we can push a litle bit the addon making with a lot of statics like cars an normal stuff we see ervery day in our life. Things like Boxes;shovel, tubes and much more modular things :-) MCPXXL
Commando84 0 Posted July 21, 2008 i think with your new tool misison making will be more fun with 3d placement.
EricM 0 Posted July 21, 2008 except that it's not for mission editing... Just island creation so far.
Striker -GER- 0 Posted July 21, 2008 except that it's not for mission editing...Just island creation so far. Well, you will be able to create a sqf script which allows you to adjust the static environment in a mission. But I have another question: Will you be able to edit objects which were already placed in Visitor 3 (Position, Directon...) or are objects which were not placed with the 3DE untouchable ?
mcpxxl 2 Posted July 21, 2008 No you can´t edit an island (wrp). When things are imported you only can use the trigger to see what kind of object it is. @EricM Who knows :-)
silola 1086 Posted July 21, 2008 Hi, It is now *also* possible, to generate a xxxxx.sqm file. It should only be renamed in "mission.sqm so that they can be loaded. Such mission.sqm can then form the basis of your mission. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif' alt='wink_o.gif'> Greeting Silola (It's not a trick, it's 3DE )
