Αplion 1122 Posted May 14, 2008 Hey guys, The HWM is back with another update as to what we are up to. The new and improved weapons pack is almost finished. We reworked the models and textures of the H&K G3A3-A4 and A4 Marksman series to produce a better visual result and enhanced gameplay. The new weapon package will also include the FN-FAL Standard, Para and Marksman series, the Standard Infantry M60, Special Forces M60E and the M60D Heavy Machine Gun series, the M72 Light Anti-armor Weapon and the H&K HK21 Squad Automatic Weapon. All models and textures have been made from scratch. The M60D model is designed to be implemented in our United States Army UH-1H Huey Transport Helicopter series, which is also work in progress. At this point we are trying to overcome some minor polygon limitations so as to depict the weapon in the best possible way. Stay tuned for more info later on. Stewy 1 Posted May 14, 2008 Looking good mate - the guns look killer! Just curious, is the flash-supressor on the regular FAL a little long? I'm not sure of the Greek FALs though - So I am probably wrong!
Αplion 1122 Posted May 14, 2008 Looking good mate - the guns look killer!Just curious, is the flash-supressor on the regular FAL a little long? I'm not sure of the Greek FALs though - So I am probably wrong! There are many different flash-supressor variations on FALs mate and this specific is that is been used by Greek Army as you said. These gun models are based on real blueprints and dimensions. Anyway we will check it one more time and if needs correction we will do it. Thanks for your post and interest. HogRoot 0 Posted May 14, 2008 Looking good so far. If this release is anything like your last it will be another must have! Do you have any screenshots of the UH-1 "series" you talked about? And can you clarify series for us. How many/what type are you planning on releasing? Keep up the great work...can't wait to see more pics.
sparks50 0 Posted May 15, 2008 Great to see better looking models of the G3
sparky 0 Posted May 15, 2008 this is our D version. unofrtunately in our last tests, we found that it's impossible to implement as it is. So we had to cut, and rework some things in order to save a lot of polygons. For more pics (in-game) visit our Mod site at HWM Webpage
max power 21 Posted May 15, 2008 The models look very nice but also very clean. It would help to ground them in the game world if you put some evidence of them being handled before.. ie. rough them up a bit.

Col. Faulkner 0 Posted May 15, 2008 Just curious, is the flash-supressor on the regular FAL a little long?I'm not sure of the Greek FALs though - So I am probably wrong! The open slot on it is somewhat "exaggerated" which makes its dimensions look strange. I presume it's meant to represent the Belgian long flash hider but it obviously lacks its bayonet lug and attachment screw - which suggests that it's a modern US-market civilian part. However, I'd be interested in seeing authentic photos of FALs in Greek service with the Belgian long flash hider. All the Greek ones I've seen have been either Belgian M1/M2 types with no muzzle devices, or else standard 50.00 models with the Belgian short 22mm combo device. The Belgian long flash hiders were normally replaced in service because they had a tendency to "banana split" as gas eroded the metal. For reference, note that every single FAL that appears in this collection of photos of contemporary Hellenic troops has the 22mm combo device fitted. Your Para FAL is apparently an FN-built South African contract rifle. I presume that isn't authentic. I know several thousand Venezuelan FALs were imported and converted by Pyrkal but no South African weapons. The Para FALs in the photo collection I linked to above are certainly all standard 50.63 models. Is the telescope and mount on the "marksman" model authentic? The Hellenic forces marksman in the photo collection linked to above clearly has an OIP telescope on the centre-mount humpback top cover; not the one you have modelled. I have a couple of photos of that sort of telescope and FAL mount (of an example that is actually of Greek provenance). Let me know if you want them.

sparky 0 Posted May 20, 2008 Col. Faulkner is probably right, as it seems he's quite FN weapons expert. I'd like to say some things though. 1)we're a small group (3 in fact 1-2Modeller, 1 textures and 1 scripter) all of us know how to do almost everything but each one has a field of experty. It's quite normal when you're a small group and you want to create Original content for this game, but at the same time you want to see it out, to compromise yourself at some points. That doesn't mean necessary compromisses for the quaility, since we're giving our best at the quaility factor. But mostly for Reserch things such as this. Mistakes may be, and we'll try to solve them, when it's possible for us. 2)As for the FN versions i haven't much to say since Col. Faulkner seems to know quite well FN weapons. I'm afraid that (as he ha alrady see himself) it's quite hard to find fotos from the FN's that greek army uses, by saying photos i mean photos that you can base on them and model. FAL's has been withdrawn from service since 90's now we can only see them in national guard on the borders, in Police Special Forces and as reserves. Although i've check this site, and i think that the para version is quite the same. 3)When we begun, talking about what weapons to build, we decided to be a bit "out of the box" that means that indeed for sniper version we search the internet and found the best sniper version we like. The reason we did and we will continue doing this is because we want to create (at the end) a balanced weapon pack between good-looking weapons and weapons that Greek Army has (even not in the exact same version). 4)Even though after 5 months of working on this weapon pack a lot of ideas have been left out, even the FAL-O that greek army uses isn't there. Some examples in the next images. but we have some more to add for the future so keep giving us your suggestons/ideas. Sorry For my bad english Sparky out. -HAC-_mainframe 0 Posted May 27, 2008 Hi All, Just a quick progress report. Weapons are finally 99.9% despite some unexpected drawbacks due to patch 1.14 release. We have updated all recoils FoV's and bullet dispersion according to the new patch in order for our weapons to be as much compatible and match the new game standards Also we have managed to overcame the polygons limitations in UH-1 and we have incorporated a more higher detail M-60 on it. Actually if all continues to go well, only retexture it for US vertion remains....any ideas here here are some screenings !! http://i191.photobucket.com/albums....-96.jpg http://i191.photobucket.com/albums....-34.jpg http://i191.photobucket.com/albums....-92.jpg http://i191.photobucket.com/albums....-40.jpg http://i191.photobucket.com/albums....-50.jpg http://i191.photobucket.com/albums....-17.jpg http://i191.photobucket.com/albums....-73.jpg http://i191.photobucket.com/albums....-96.jpg http://i191.photobucket.com/albums....-10.jpg http://i191.photobucket.com/albums....-25.jpg http://i191.photobucket.com/albums....-50.jpg http://i191.photobucket.com/albums....-46.jpg So we are in final beta test stages mostly testing and fine tuning the new necessary changes (ungraded Armors-new recoils-new Fovs) due to 1.14 and if nothing major come up we hope to release pack 3 within the next days cheers!!
