Elite SEAL 0 Posted May 14, 2008 From what little information I could dig up, the NZSAS also use the Diemaco/Colt Canada C8A1/C8SFW. Though of course lacking a specific model for that I can see why you'd probably go for the M16A4, question is, do they in fact use the ACOG optic? I would've thought it would be the Elcan, though quite likely also Aimpoints and possibly the Eotech series. Hard to find pictures that confirm any of those though. All of the pics on the NZSAS on the official NZ Army website "seem" to be outdated, and the M4's shown are the older ones with fixed carry handle/no optic mounted. Any plans to do any NZSAS CTTAG units, or CRW (badged CT guys, I'm not positive if they use the acronym CRW)? armed with MP5A5s equipped with the Surefire 628 Tactical Light Forearm? Would be nice for Urban CT/HR missions. Also any plans for Desert DPM NZSAS, for afghanistan themed ops (provided they're not already included.) Thanks for the pack all the same, good work. miles teg 1 Posted May 14, 2008 All I wanna know is..... is that C130 in the pack?? If not, why the blood hell not??? I'm all for Kiwi military power, but we need a nice pack with some choice (as my Kiwi frineds say for "cool") military vehicles and aircraft. That along with like some nice Indonesian OPFOR would kick ass! Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>
ArmaVidz 0 Posted May 14, 2008 Im sure the soldiers are really great, but they are completely eclipsed and/or overshadowed by the C-130 in the background. Everyone is clammering for a C-130.
miles teg 1 Posted May 14, 2008 Everyone wants AIRBORNE PARATROOPER MISSIONS!!!!! For every mod....and all the mods want to borrow the first half-way decent C-130 model to hit ArmA to make for their particular country of interest. a6-intruder 0 Posted May 14, 2008 Yeah that pic isn't the best of the DPMs I must say. But a damn good one of the C-130 Hercules. I don't think it was a mistake either Yeah but there should be a release of a RNZAF -130H Hercules very soon just finalizing a few variants and scripts. Seal this was mainly a fix up release. Some units has M4 but Steyr ammo. Trinder1 is going to add a Engineer and Pilot. There is already a desert cam solider in the pack.
jono_retard 0 Posted May 14, 2008 as a nz arma player (SCu) i have got to say having NZ stuff to play with is great. Makes arma have a more 'personal' touch. Great stuff, extremly looking forward to that hercles, it would go well with the seasprite as well. All we need now is some apc's and you have the entire NZ army squeezed into <100mb mod

Col. Faulkner 0 Posted May 14, 2008 Do the New Zealanders wear British C95 clothing nowadays (or at least clothing with the same DPM pattern and colour scheme)? The DPM on these figures looks strange. It seems smaller than C95, the pattern is "messy" and the colours look a bit too saturated. I don't know where you got your DPM textures from, but if you want them, I could make you some high resolution scans of a swatch of actual British C95 DPM material (the stone/green/brown/black variant only). I can send you the whole pattern repeat - DPM repeats in a pattern approx. Â 24 inches square. If required, I could even annotate one of them with the actual dimensions of some of the colour patches. Let me know if you want this. For your reference; I also noticed that their jackets (poking out underneath the armoured vests) seem to fasten on the girl's side (ie. right over left), and there's an untextured polygon on the left leg:

It seems smaller than C95, the pattern is "messy" and the colours look a bit too saturated. Source Wikipedia Quote[/b] ]The New Zealand disruptive pattern material, also known as the New Zealand DPM, is the official camouflage uniform used by the New Zealand Armed Forces. It features a mix of greens and yellows, and is similar in many aspects to the British Disruptive Pattern Material and in the 70's to the American Army. Historically, New Zealand's armed forces used British DPM's. The New Zealand Defence Forces designed the New Zealand DPM in 1980 with more yellows in order to better suit the tussocky conditions that prevail in New Zealand. So I think it differs slightly from the C95 DPM. New Zealand fauna is considerable different to England's. But hey we could use all the help.We are trying to improve and finish the mod. We use it all the time in our missions which has motivated has to make some changes and improvements.

plasman 0 Posted May 15, 2008 To trinder1 In fact I’m currently suffering from a bad case of "bored by ArmA" and stopped working on retexes. Just taking a look at the forum fm time to time. Sorry for that. You are free to modify/improve this addon (just give me credit for the work already done). Maybe you can contact Col. Faulkner who kindly offered his help to improve the addon to get suggestions/feedbacks. His proposal to provide high resolution scans is very interesting. To Col. Faulkner Thanks your feedback. Maybe you can make scans of the British C95 DPM material available on Filefront, I think they would definitely benefit to ArmA’s modders community.

stun 5 Posted May 18, 2008 I believe the nz and australian armies both use the PASGT unless things have changed recently.
