Sigma-6 29 Posted August 21, 2007 Here is an open test of my 1970 Plymouth Barracudas. These are part of my upcoming civilian series of addons, and do not represent the final. The readme is included in the zipfile. In order to prevent this from becoming yet another thread full of duplicate posts about the same known issues, it would be great if people could. . . perhaps. . . read the material before posting bugs? This addon is an open test, so comments on the *harder to find* bugs are definitely useful, but a long line of posts about the stuff covered in the readme is not. Screen by Parvus ************************ *Installing this addon:* ************************ Place the four .pbo files inside your Arma Addons folder, if you have any previous versions, overwrite all previous files with the ones presented in this zip file. The Barracudas will be found under 'civilian/Sigma Wheeled'. ***************** * Known Bugs: * ***************** Lights are not fully functional. Gauges do not work. Driver and Passenger animations are much less than ideal. All of these issues are slated for future versions, but if anyone skilled in these areas wants to go ahead and update for these issues, do not hesitate to contact me. ****************** *List of changes:* ****************** New: **** v0.9 First release version Improved: ******** v0.9 First release version Fixed: ****** v0.9 First release version ********************* *For mission makers:* ********************* Classnames are: Barcuda Cuda 440Cuda Hemicuda ******************** *Special thanks to:* ******************** -Colonel Klink: for endless help making new features work. -Parvus: for excellent teaser shots. jasono 0 Posted August 21, 2007 These are excellent vehicles, and have an obvious amount of effort put into them. The interior and exterior are both done to prefection.
wipman 1 Posted August 21, 2007 Hi, this Cudas look damn great, and sound like a carburation V8 should. They also turn great and give the impresion that they are in fact rear wheel drive, i haven't found any bug yet that don't be the lights that don't work... but apart of that... this Cudas are just amazing. Great job, this Cudas gonna stay in my HD 'til the ArmA dies like the OFP did, and that was 6 years of life. Let's C ya
Commando84 0 Posted August 21, 2007 very nice cars but the cars are more bullet proof than armored cars when i try to ambush cars and shoot them in the windows the cars never get a scratch instead it stops and the troops jump out and shoot me while i reload
Al Simmons 0 Posted August 21, 2007 Very good work. The modells and textures are looking nice and the sound is awesome.

manzilla 1 Posted August 21, 2007 Beautiful! I cant wait to try it out. Is there a 1970 Hemicuda convertible in this pack. We've been trying to get our hands on one for a few years now but the auctions always get out of control(For good reason obviously). Although my forte is equities, alternatives, and derivative investments, flipping one of those would no doubt produce a tremendous short term return. (Sorry for getting off topic, It's almost time to head to the office so trading is on the mind.) Either way, I look forward to checking this out after the markets close. Thanks for spending time on this. Much appreciated.

Flat!!! 0 Posted August 21, 2007 Alright I have played around with these great v8s for a while and I really loved them. However I did find a couple of things: 1. When you go at high revs you can hear that the sound is looping. 2. When you are outside of it and it is standing on grass you can see the grass going threw the car. 3. When Inside it looks a bit weird near the side mirrors. 4. It is too heavy in the back and too light in the front. It should be leaning more forwards in the air... (V8's are heavy) I do know this is a alpha but I am just trying to help you out
Sigma-6 29 Posted August 21, 2007 Quote[/b] ]1. When you go at high revs you can hear that the sound is looping. That's because the sound is looped. You should have heard it before it was processed. Frankly, it's not that noticeable, and I have little time for more sound processing. Quote[/b] ]2. When you are outside of it and it is standing on grass you can see the grass going threw the car. If there is a way to stop this from happening, I don't know what it is. I'm fairly sure that's something in the engine. Quote[/b] ]3. When Inside it looks a bit weird near the side mirrors. That's a geometry problem which is fixed by the new (as yet unreleased) model. Quote[/b] ]4. It is too heavy in the back and too light in the front. It should be leaning more forwards in the air... (V8's are heavy) Quite. Unfortunately, I've pushed the mass forward in the Geo LOD again and again, and it seems to make little to no difference. I could push it even further ahead, but I just don't see it having much effect. It's already balanced in the p3d like a real life 'cuda is. I'll give it another nudge anyway, for the next release. Quote[/b] ]I do know this is a alpha but I am just trying to help you out You're a testament to longer bug lists in readmes. I didn't list these because I thought they were too obvious (as well as the armour issue). Could you picture an addonmaker spending this much time, and then not noticing something like, say, the grass poking through, or the geometry bug in the door? Remember, it's just me alone working on these. That's why I'm looking for team members. In any case, this is the reason why this is an open test, and now that these are listed, hopefully I won't hear about them from anyone else. . .

da12thMonkey 1943 Posted August 21, 2007 These are brilliant Sig. Yesterday I was jumping a couple of buses parked lengthways against the concrete ramp object at Paraiso's runway with them. Started setting up triggered explosions and spotlights and stuff to see how mad a stunt I could make it. Lots of fun.
Flat!!! 0 Posted August 21, 2007 Posted it just in case ... BTW I do know the sound is looped but it would be cool if this was less noticeable on high revs. I found that my arma.rpt is filled with errors from these cuddas altho I can't see any problems in game... I also found a bug so when you try to climb a hill that is very steep sometimes the car spins 90 degrees in an random direction (yes even up).

Sigma-6 29 Posted August 21, 2007 I can't think of anything that could make me take a Camaro seriously. The new Camaro just looks. . . well, silly. It's nothing new. . . it's not very stylish. . . it looks like just another sportscar to me. Sorry.

I've got my record at six if the conditions are right. Sigma: lots of fun! Great addon.

It's nothing new. . . it's not very stylish. . . it looks like just another sportscar to me. Sorry. Agreed, Camaros looked alright in the 60s but since the 70s they've been pretty hideous, and that concept one just looks daft. Aston Martin V8, now there is a car that's been awesome since the 70's. 77/78 Vantage especially. http://news-images.caradisiac.com/IMG....867.jpg How many buses have you managed to jump? I've got my record at six if the conditions are right. Sigma: lots of fun! Great addon. Is that jumping the full length of the buses? I've only managed 2 lengthways, on level ground, using a single ramp. 6 sounds about right if you're jumping across the width of them. I've noticed that having passengers in the car actually seems to effect things: More often than not I'd clip the front of the first bus (due to not gaining enough height off the ramp) when I had a passenger. I made the same jump every time if it only had a driver. Didn't know ArmA's 'physics' were sensitive to things like that.
MehMan 0 Posted August 21, 2007 Yeah, I'm jumping them width wise. Pretty fun actually. It's also pretty damn awsome to just cruise.
Shadow NX 1 Posted August 21, 2007 Just gave them a try and im impressed, excellent textures, great sounds sweet handling... absolutely brilliant.
