The HALO start is very nice thumbs-up.gif

We also had some minor bugs when playing on a dedicated server.

One time sounds went all weird. Couldn't here the guy next to you shooting or the radio messages. Also tanks flipped sometimes and some anoying spawning. Like when after blowing the radio tower (main objective). Then going over the bridge 3 tanks just spawned there in front of us like 50 m away... out of nowhere. confused_o.gif

Anyway the mission concept is great and it wasn't buggy on every try.

Very Fun Mission... Halo Drop is effective and a neat diversion. Crazy ass T-72's chased us all over the place last night. We needed more AT!.. but were able to FLEE with losing everything.

Would likea couple more objectives to the NE... Maybe at the Base ..have some armor and some Soldiers... Random patrols etc..

But even with what was there...12 of us did it for approx 3 hours!

Well, here it is : my longest ArmA streak since i got this game (i've been playing for more or less a week nonstop)... and i've been playing ONLY this mission.

It's amazing how each time, this mission comes up with a new surprise.

Scattered officers, lost codes, air support, hidden shilkas, adrenaline packed escape sequences in stolen civilian cars, spetznaz ambush... the list of all the treasures this mission is willing to reward the patient and demanding player with is endless.

Everything is random, and you can play it endlessly, and never feel like you know what is going to happen next.

Plus, a mission that starts out at night and ends in daytime brings a unique immersive feeling.

I've also had the opportunity of playing BlackSword with some very experienced and talented players - thank you Chris & Smiley from the [Rifles] squad notworthy.gif

This has been one of my best game EVER - even since the OFP days.

Why isn't anyone running Blacksword on the servers?

I checked last night and everyone was jamming on

Evolution 3.0?

We were running back sword and man overboard for most of the time last night.

Black sword was probably on longest.

Usually get quite a few on

[OAP] Superserver

We do run evo but infrequently and try to keep to some of the better community missions out there.

We prefer people to come on and work as a team rather than the lone wolf mentality which can really make things difficult for everyone (tho after they have to wait for revive they usually leave)

Black sword does seam to be a regular feature tho and will definateley look out for more of Igors work.

If anyone has a list of other missions with this revive script please let me know.

I really like this map, great diversity and I especially like the reviving scripts and often changes the missions into a rescue mission for a while. But I also hate when people decides to bypass the revive script, by reconnecting. I know it's probably a negative sideeffect of enabling JIP, but it's annoying to wait for 55 minutes for a revive, only to discover other player reconnect instantly.

sorry, waiting more than 5 minutes is tooo long to revive. I am one who disconnects and reconnects. I have to get in and play quickly... I have a new son and don't have time to wait. I gotta get my fix.

This is one of the best co op missions to date. And with a sneak peek to igors next mission, you guys are going to fall in love with it.

It would be great if more servers hosted this map, instead of evo, evo is no where as complex and immersive as this.

Quite simply one of the best missions i have ever played.

It pains me that Bis never hired you whilst making armed assault and even more so that queens gambit will not come with one of your great releases.

Bis its time to ditch your old school community advisors and hang with a new crowd , your not getting any new ideas from the current batch of "ADVISORS" Hire this chap to make the missions .

An Idea with this mission may be to run a JIP window.

I other words up to the radio tower allow JIP, then afetr that lock the server.

This would still allow time to get a decent game going, plus if anyone fails to land safeley theres always the boats in the northern harbour to get revive to them or pick them up.

From then on - escape from island etc, locking it would probably be beneficial as long as admins let players know that is happening so they dont try the Rejoin/repawn trick.

Of course letting them know from the off that rejoin is a no no would help also.

I have some questions about the view-distance radio command feature.

1. What is the default view distance?

2. By what increment is it changed?

3. a. Can someone like me change the default view distance?

b. If so, how?

NDP is igors server, which is used for testing, so don’t be surprised if you see a newer version running.

I’m pretty sure igor has an update lurking around very soon wink_o.gif

Aside of some missing sounds, we found a "problem" that happened every time we played the mission. For some reason the Ka50 patrolling the area always crashes sooner or later. Is that done on purpose by the mission or is it a new ArmA "feature" ?

First off, I'd like to thank you all for taking the time to leave feedback in this thread. Your replies are my reward, so thank you again!

On a sidenote, version 3.0 is now out (see first post):

It supports Single Player, implements the latest version of norrin's revive scripts and fixes issues related to the settings triggers. Another Laser Designator, in a logical place, has also been added (thanks Smiley_Nick), along with a marker at the location of the enemy base (thank you wolfsblut). I tweaked a few other things, but they're hardly worth mentioning...

if only for the surprises wink_o.gif!

I hope that you'll enjoy it and that I haven't forgotten anything...

I've just received a PM from norrin telling me of a major bug in the version of the revive scripts used in v3.0:

The sound error comes from GLII: you won't get the error message if you play with the addon attached to the scripts (which you can find:here).

The chopper does sometimes crash after a while. That's a real shame. Hopefully before it does, it'll have fired a couple of rockets in your  band.gif  biggrin_o.gif

Do I understand correctly that version 3(.1) is back to 8 players total? There were 8 slots in version 1 and I believe 12 slots in version 2.

Anyway, these Ruskies are going to die anyway ...

Sorry plaintiff1, I'd overlooked your question.

The default VD is set at 1200m., and it is adjustable in 100-meter increments. It's up to the squad leader to adjust the settings, as it is done via radio triggers.
