hasn't Vilas got some G3 weapons in his pack, maybe make two configs on to use his weapons perhaps ?

Actually, the swedish army uses AK-5's. smile_o.gif (the AK-4 was a swedish version of the G3).

ah great, Gux been working on a AK5C (perfect for rangers). So maybe we can combine this soon and get on arma swedish download.

Please join www.anrop.net for more swedes working on the addons. Great work, will be keeper for me.

GranQ: Thanks man. I would definitly like to combine our work, getting the AK5 would be marvellous. as well as the PSG90. When that happens I would also like some help with config stuff, sure.

The colors are a b**ch. In some lightings they look spot on but in another they like disastrous. I will use your picture there to try to pinpoint them more accurately.

More things I will improve: I have no idea how the medic bag looks like irl. Any ideas? I just made something up.

These retextured unit are quite useless, these units are the same than those find in ARMA, using same weapon, and model what a spend of time...

The problem come from BIS who don't had added a multitexture sytem to there P3D (using Jungle, Wood, Desert, Urban, Snow, Night, Sea camo. [how they can do that easy, when you finalised your model with standard texture, you should be able to export the 3D texture, in a 2D image, after you need to call it WOOD, then you need to edit each texutre using the flat 2D texture renderd, and name it JUNGLE, DESERT, SNOW, NIGHT, SEA)...

These addons just take place on H.D. They bring nothing new. Just some others little guy using some PAN, PAN to kill somebody else.

I hope that they release then Oxygen et Visitor for ARMA soon to convert ancient OFP addons...

Also what would be great is that the OFP addons to be compatible with ARMA, BIS said that it would be (the reason I buy the game), but they lie ! The error they made is that they don't add the 3 new side (Euro [E.U], Royal [u.K, C.W], Liberation [Middle & Far East]) with the 4 of OFP (CREW : Civil, Resistance [Afrika], East [V.P / C.E.I], West [u.S.N.A]), this cause a lot of bug, also they don't added the texture of OFP (or new texture using ancient name) to use OFP addons.

Sure for those who add a lot of addons & MOD on OFP, ARMA is little bit boring.

The campaign is to short and not fun at all. I don't know why something that i can not explain !

you really missing the point.

If I want to play as a swedish rangers on a tour in afghanistan.. and i have played many missions like that for Operation flashpoint. Then i rather have a swedish looking model then a an american. One step at a time, yesterday a first release, tomorrow a full package i dont know.

Everyone: Thanx for all the nice replies. I just sat down one night and really got down how to make retextures and then decided to make the swedish ones, since I'm swedish and did service ten years ago. I'm by no means a romantic war buff, more of a normal texture designer married with kids from Gothenburg. So now you sort of know who I am.

Gux: Cool.

I'm new here and don't know everyone. You're the guy who people here and at Anrop say are working at the AK5. How are things going?

BTW: Do you think it's cool to do as I did, to add some dirt to the textures? In missions I think it adds some to realism but when two guys come walking with the same dirt it looks kinda silly. Do anyone know how to script that one off (ie to random the same soldier to two different textures?)

I am slowly but surely getting there; it's a learning process.

Dirt is great for realism but it's also easy to get carried away with. I think the trick is to get a subtle contrast going that doesn't show up until you look at it closely. It really needs blend in and be less distinct to work.

why didnt you include a machinegunner?

the M240 is almost the same as the KSP58 so that would have worked...

and the M249 is almost identical to the swedish KSP90...

that would also have worked smile_o.gif
