um that was the worst trailer I have ever seen for a game. It definitely does nothing to help market this game. In fact it seems that Atari put hardly any effort into making this trailer. If they couldn't create something better they should have used something from the community or another trailer already being used. This is pure crap.

That trailer obviously contains some pretty old parts, the part with the M136 I've seen back in sept. last year. And ArmA out of the box definitely doesn't has these old parachutes seen in that trailer.

In a way, after watching the quite frankly pathetic display of what ArmA can really do in that video, missing out most of the new effects, large unit formations and Island size, it has to make you wonder, does Atari really give a toss about selling this game stateside

I think many of us here that make cutscenes and missions could of put together a better trailer than that.

Always remember In Flashpoint there was a mission, can't exactly remember what it was, maybe the Russians were over running Morton or something, and the guy on the radio come out with "hot damn" we better get out of here

I've seen better trailers, but I've also seen worse. Its like a trailer for a Steven Seagal movie, its full of action, but makes you think the full version is utter shite (and in the case of my example, you're guaranteed to be right in that assumption).

The STALKER trailer just before the ArmA: CO trailer, really didn't do ArmA any good. The ArmA trailier was good 4 months ago at the german release, but with 1.07 the old 1.0 trailer doesn't cut it. How about some rocking 10K flight scenes?

Seeing as OFP had a lack of it (apart from the "hot damn" and other comical replacements for swearing ) , I didn't think there would be any in ArmA.

I think if I sat in front of a camera and held up the game-box and said this game is AwehuhhuhhuhSome that would be a better trailor than the one on the link, lol.

j/k I know some ArmA movie makers could have done something better. The parachuting part could have been made better and the airfield should have been in there all done up with barrels, cones, etc, with jets taking off. That catches the eye.

Good thing they didn't show a tank hitting a bus and the bus ricochet up the road turning into rust. :-)

It's not that it's "not good", it's more that they took footage from oooooold trailers, rehashed it (and not in the greatest of ways), and missed the massive potential present to make a really slick new trailer utilizing all the new features that have been implemented since back then.

There was nothing new in that. The content from those original trailers was good, in context, at the time they were released. It's not acceptable now, though.

It does make me wonder...

You know, that's not enough. They're not even trying. Somewhere along the line, somebody dropped the ball. There are people around who could have created a better trailer on request - I mean, someone had to make those original trailers, right? They could have asked them, or done a competition with the community, or someone from BIS could have been tasked with it, or Atari could have tried to make one themselves... ANYTHING.

That shows ZERO effort and ZERO desire to promote the strengths of the game. It's insulting to the community that the publisher would care so little that they'd actually try to get away with piecing together a crap trailer like that.

It's like fighting an uphill battle now. The community creates good PR in the form of videos, screens, etc, and they get a bit of exposure. Then, the biggest potential source of exposure there is - Atari - completely blows it out of their ass. What a load of crap. I would be steamed if I were BIS. Hell, I'm steamed as it is.

The trailer was pretty pathetic. Someone needs to inform the marketing department at Atari that they suck.

All they did was cut out bits from two trailers that Dslyecxi mentioned. That is just lame! The trailers from BIS were much better, it would have been more effective if Atari simply used the montage trailer as it is. It was an excellent trailer.

I would expect a large publisher to do much better.

Yep, its lame, a lot of that is from an old pre-release ArmA trailer of the 'US Forces' video. Atari probably just google'd US forces + ArmA and pasted that video in with a couple of 'action shots'. Crap to be quite honest.
