Or am I off here? indeed a tad bit more realism and teamplay incentives would be very nice. introducing roles, a revive option and ditching the magic vehicle radar would be among my top priorities. maybe in berzerk 9.3... The_Captain 0 Posted February 11, 2008 A few things that throw off Berzerk's AT vs. Vehicle balance: 1) All/most infantry have an AT launcher. IRL only a small portion of soldiers have launchers. This means that any infantryman you encounter is immediately dangerous. 2) Most humans drive vehicles from the driver position, alone, without weapons ready. To engage a launcher equipped soldier, they must halt, switch to gunner, rotate the turret to aim, and fire. It's also very difficult to spot soldiers with launchers in this manner. This swings the balance in the favor of the infantry. 3) Infantry usually swarm the areas vehicles are likely to travel in, and vehicles usualy travel blindly into these areas. Hence, coffins. Vehicles in berzerk are deadly when someone sits just beyond a ridgeline in a tank and uses the main gun and machine gun as long range support. In short, lone vehicles with no crew ready on the weapons scanning for targets, blindly traveling into areas full of rocket equipped infantry... are going to freaking die. I know it's hard to get a fully manned vehicle in Berzerk, but many times I've been annhiliated as infantry by a fully manned tank or APC sitting 500+m away from the action, behind cover. If you treat your vehicle not as a PanzerDeathWagon, and instead as a vulnerable weapons delivery platform with a long range, it helps survivability immeasurably. Some might call that "camping" and "lame", and I call it a viable and survivable tactic. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Mabes 0 Posted February 11, 2008 Maybe there could be someway that we could set a limit on how many RPGs/AT4s are available, and possibly do the same with sniper rifles. Or some way to factor in how many are available per the number of people on that team (ie... Four players on BLUFOR means only one or two AT4s and one SPR). zaphod 0 Posted February 11, 2008 sniper rifles are limited to 1/8 AAs are limited to 1/8 ATs are limited to 1/2 (maybe 1/3 is better) you cannot combine launchers with MGs/sniper rifles or grenade launchers using vehicles alone ... it's your own risk using the easiest route ... it's your own risk limit weapons/vehicles to roles/ranks makes no sense: your command structure was killed ... you left alone to defend a captured target enemies swarming in ... ... and because you are sani you are not capable of taking a launcher or firing vulcans on incoming?? ... Dwarden 1125 Posted February 25, 2008 it's quite easy (after i figured and tested it out ) to script replace (no clientside addon) all AA missiles with Mando Missiles plus place flares and chaff on air vehicles and enjoy the show and fun in aircombat in MP (plus Javelin and some other AT missiles could be done too) in fact MM enrich any PvP and COOP game mode Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
