Sled88 0 Posted February 9, 2007 Finally 95% of the new units of virus are ready! Take a look at these Indepedence Force Units! In the game they are a part of the mercenary forces. They are the hardest enemies of the game...
Al Simmons 0 Posted February 9, 2007 Those pics are no good reference (some too small, too bright, too dark, try to make them "actionmenshowoff"-like, simply show us closeups with normal light.
Sled88 0 Posted February 9, 2007 I set them to the environment they belong... sure between the trees it is darker than on the road or something... they are not modified in any way... using camera.sqs...
Sled88 0 Posted February 9, 2007 Some new effects! New Fire and Dirt... Working on some new tracers... ____ And here it is, the new 3rd person view! Ah and you can see the final US-Marine model!
rellikki 7 Posted February 9, 2007 The dirt effect looks cool, however, I think those flames are too much red. Also, nice job on changing the 3rd person view position, it looks cool.
moricky 211 Posted February 10, 2007 3rd persion view might look cool, but it's affect gameplay. I tried it in OFP (just wanted to know if Splinter Cell shooting view could be transformed into OFP) and it was very difficult to use, especially on corners of buildings. Even in Splinter Cell it wasn't so useful (hovewer it looked cool), but this view wasn't there all the game, just when player drew weapon - but switching 3rd person views in ArmA is not possible). BTW: I hope this project will be something more than Conspiracies. Cool look and tons of addons are not everything, good gameplay can replace all of this. Sled88 0 Posted February 10, 2007 This tons of addons would be history cuz we are using our own addons... But infact that this is a total conversion mod is might become very big in the dl-size... Gameplay is very important this time! But if you ask me this new 3rd person view is really useful to me. Because now i can look infront of my character in 3rd person. and for edges and corners there is still the ironsight or 1st person view! Another lil pic from the bunker-level

Serclaes 0 Posted February 11, 2007 I think what Gaia meant, is that your mission design has some shortcomings.

R0adki11 3949 Posted February 12, 2007 wow that look really nice, keep up the excellent work, hows the missions coming along ? also any idea how big it will be download when complete ?
Sled88 0 Posted February 12, 2007 I thin it is a bit over 1GB...
Jackal326 1181 Posted February 12, 2007 I thin it is a bit over 1GB... Â Holy hell. I'd advise compressing it to a .CAB file using PowerArchiver or a similar tool. It'll take an age to pack, but the resulting file-size will be worth it.
Sled88 0 Posted February 12, 2007 Do you have a link jackal? Of course I want to keep it as low as possible!
moricky 211 Posted February 12, 2007 It would be better not to use some less important addons (it will be "cool" enough even without them, won't it?). Even CSLA or FDF were only half in size without quality loss. Think about it.
Jackal326 1181 Posted February 12, 2007 PowerArchiver can be downloaded from HERE. I really recommend it to anyone, as it combines a lot of other file-formats that you'd need othe rprograms for apart from WinZIP etc into one program.
Sled88 0 Posted February 12, 2007 Well because it is a total conversion mod useless addons are history... it replaces nearly all original pbos... except the buildings.pbo, misc.pbo, animals.pbo, LANGUAGE.pbo, rocks.pbo, signs.pbo and animation.pbo... EDIT: THX jackal!
