lovely work gnat! hows the seafighter coming? and as for the LCAC i would like to see some updates too! a few pages back(pg.4) dont say much!

The LCAC is back with Scrub and USMCRP, I'm no longer working on any hovercraft.

LCU, no.

Would not bother unless I started work in a Amphibious Assault Ship. And no I have no such plans.

Can't wait for your ships Gnat! Btw will the LCAC's have any turrets or openable, closable ramps or anything like that?

I always wondered how a LCAC would feel like to ride ever since i saw it in one of the cutscenes for c&c 95 biggrin_o.gif

My main focus on ships for ArmA and ArmA regarding interests in using only involves three main areas that hopefully the community and addonmakers won't stray from this...

#1  Showing a real and credible naval presence in a mission or missions.  There's nothing that can replace seeing an enemy blockade consisting of several ships offshore spitting fire, or the sight of a naval amphibious operation with large warship escort.

#2.  Acting as a credable threat to enemy forces and being able to adaquately protect itself in ArmA combat.  Most capable warships are no pushovers, in ArmA they should be able to crush reckless and uncoordinated attempts to sink the ship.

#3.  Allow units to be placable on the bridge of ships when stationary ("not" driver, gunner,commander, or cargo) via scripting.  If not possible, some simple object made to provide a stable floor that could be moved wherever the cutscene on the ship was needed.

Why #3, the bridge is where most of any significant dialogue would occur regarding naval matters in a cutscene offshore.

No one as of yet to my knowledge has made any LST,LSD,LHD,or LPD for ArmA yet.  You'd think with Saharni being an island, more talent would have worked on this matter.

Its unfortunate that the Arliegh Burke DDG, Tico VLS CG, Sovernmeny DDG, and Sprunace DD have not been made into successful naval addons yet.  

Slava and the Kirov are by far much more work intensive and poly intense warships, both probably are not feasible to make into ArmA  models or addons.

Chops most "Helix" variants are anti-submarine helicopter, SAR and transport helicopters.

BTW, why it's QnD, it looks kinda good to me, although camo scheme should be different wink_o.gif

- Model is not high poly

- Cargo area is a rough cut-n-shut of the Mi17 cargo space

- Cockpit seats and instruments is another cut-n-shut of the Mi17

- No decent cockpit wall textures (may fix before release)

- External texture is a simple 3rd party "art" picture slaped on the sides

- Rotors are from the Ka-50

- no animation other than rotors

- Not armed

the kamov looks I also have to agree that a Sla version would be cool but its your addon m8! You choice whats in it. smile_o.gif

It looks good from this ange but hey as you said Im not sure how good it looks at a close r view tounge2.gif

Btw will it have support for RKSl cargo script? smile_o.gif

would be sweet to use this for multipurpose operations.

Any chance of doing a Ka-29TB? It is a derivative with hardpoints for bombs/gunpods/rockets and a forward firing 7.62mm gatling gun + door mounted forward firing 30mm cannon.

Seriously though, I was thinking it might make the frigates a counterpart to the RACS naval units.

Now that I think about it though, I doubt a couple of white and blue flags would shatter the realism of a non-existent nations navy.

From that pic the textures look fine, to my layman's eye at least.

Very good model Gnat, I like that helo a lot.

Many versions could be developed from thah chassis, comprehending also the Kamov Ka-31 Helix, the Airborne early warning helicopter, with radar system underneet the fuselage. A nice chopper and a nice target for antiradar missiles, since we have few of those wink_o.gif

Also, a modified KA-29 could be added to enhance the Ka-50 targeting system, used together.. whistle.gif

Anyway, these are just suggestions, I'm already happy with the model you did, it will refresh a lot my missions editor smile_o.gif
