vilas 477 Posted January 9, 2008 MY APS (BETA !!!! SOME SMALL DETAILS TO CHANGE, MAGAZINE TO ADD as i am back from office i made screen RHS APS: real sight : comparision:
Shadow NX 1 Posted January 9, 2008 indeed better but the textures are the thing mostly people spot first and it hink there you need to improve your APS a little. And its maybe a little too slim. Probably a neat idea to give soem of our Spetsnaz that will carry APS the wooden buttstock as extra on the belt. But thats just a idea.
vilas 477 Posted January 9, 2008 if we had enough of skills to make animated stocks , opening, adding silencer hah, what whould it be but we have such skills as we have now, You know I am not informatician adding wood-stock APS ? very big weapon than , but as secondary it would look silly, very big
NSX 8 Posted January 9, 2008 Well, it's not as big as MK.23 with tactical block and silencer, but noone will give SOCOM as primary weap. Â So I vote for secondary. Looks good, just need better textures for me. And another portion of pics here:
Supernova 0 Posted January 9, 2008 one question why do most of the cold-war scenarios revolve around 1985 ? why not 1989 , 1983 or others ?
MontyVCB 0 Posted January 9, 2008 Looking good vilas, does project 85 have a website yet?
NSX 8 Posted January 9, 2008 Well, end of PR avalanche here, I swear :
MAA3057 0 Posted January 9, 2008 one question why do most of the cold-war scenarios revolve around 1985 ? why not 1989 , 1983 or others ? There wouldn't be a bogus difference either way, me thinks. 1985 looks and sounds cool.
topas 1 Posted January 9, 2008 Well, end of PR avalanche here, I swear : now don't you dare to stop posting your shots especially since you have some excellent stuff on flashpoint.ru that's still could be shown here
NSX 8 Posted January 9, 2008 2Topas Well, you said this like my shots are good (not my opinion) just because of new anims. However, let it be. I'll continue.
Shadow NX 1 Posted January 9, 2008 Very nice shots there NSXr ( why the r so suddently? ). About the timeframe, well i was also for something bit later that would have allowed me to use stuff like M1988 camo but suddently the name project 85 was there and all was decided. vilas 477 Posted January 9, 2008 new crewman model added with APS and holster for it, but i don't know if on RD-54 webbings was possible to hold holster in such way, so anytime it can be changed on Specnaz sniper
NSX 8 Posted January 9, 2008 Nice work with APS. Btw, check you PMs, Pete.
GAU-8 vs Life 0 Posted January 9, 2008 Hey! Nice holster! You should ask the Bushwar team about their new pilot model. He has a Star 9mm tucked in a holster under his left armpit and when he draws it is removed from the holster! Still standard anims but very nice anyway to have non-deco sidearms holstered! wld427 1705 Posted January 10, 2008 ok your units are cool but the PT-76 in the background.......
topas 1 Posted January 10, 2008 ok your units are cool but the PT-76 in the background....... It's a placeholder. Textures are virtually the same as they were in OFP; after we gained permission from the original authors (LWP mod) Vilas just converted the models and what I did was just a little work on them (adding some dust, mud here and there).. I am aware of the quality issues with the LWP vehicles and a full texture replacement is in plans before the final release ..however real life issues are more important atm.. Oh, that sounds neat! Didnt know that this was possible now, guess i have to ask them. Opens a lot of possibilitys like RPO tubes on the soldiers back that disapear and such i think. Supernova 0 Posted January 10, 2008 I think it would be a big difference the years chosen for a cold war mod. For example since a 1985 year is chosen that means no BTR-80 , TU-160 , BMP-3 , BMD-3 etc... Not to mention no T-80U (it was only accepted in the russian army in 1985 and true production got underway a year later etc...)

Not to mention no T-80U (it was only accepted in the russian army in 1985 and true production got underway a year later etc...) you know, does that really matter? as long as the stuff included was indeed used in the 1980s, i don't give a damn if it had been adopted in 1985 yet or not. Shadow NX 1 Posted January 10, 2008 The project might expand to later scenarios in the future but for now we gotta get the base done.
NoRailgunner 0 Posted January 10, 2008 Maybe its only a name called "Project '85"? T-80 has been in production since the late 70's. BTR-80 8x8, BMP-3 enter the service in late 80's. Only TU-160 enter the service in 2000 (14 are now in "active" duty). Maybe TU-95 and TU-142 fits better in "85-timeline". Anyway keep up your project and I'm not angry if you make some units & stuff +/-10 years. (think of real military development, production etc.).
Shadow NX 1 Posted January 10, 2008 PLus if there really was a war some things would have seens production earlier and stuff like some camos would surely already been used bit earlier, however for now i concentrate on 85-86 roughly.
topas 1 Posted January 10, 2008 (...) and I'm not angry if you make some units & stuff +/-10 years (...) well I don't think the accepted margin of error would be that big in our case to say the least; +/- 10 years is a lot of time... think of it in a perspective of a WW2 mod for example.. So let's say that 1985 is the starting point of the fictional conflict; how long will it last and what equipment (86, 88.. etc) will be introduced it's all just up to our imagination and creativity but I'd personally say we don't want to push the fiction further than it has been already done with making this conflict happen
wld427 1705 Posted January 10, 2008 I think myself and many other would be happy to take whatever you decide to give us......
