Nogovan Light Infantry

Recommended Posts

iMain Rifle: FN-FAL: im using the L1aL pack by Kabal using JAM mags.

Weren't Kabals L1A1/FN FAL's quite a bit off scale??? Seem to remember them being huge ingame. Would be nice if they were modified since they were fairly good quality texture wise

As for LMG's: why not use the FN FAP, which is basicly a modified LMG version of the FN FAL. Makes sense for a "poor" country like Nogova to try and keep the amount of different weapon parts and ammo types to the minimum. You could even use the good old Bren (I know MLV pack includes both)

I support the idea of british weapons, but if we would take it more realistic, Nogova would more likely have Chinese old AK's and Gustav SMGs

Hi, i like myself the idea of UKF weapons, L86's for the regular units and Diemacos Elcan for the SF's, as side arms... the UKF SIG-P226 for the SF's may serve, and Browning HP for the officers; or for the snipers... and the BIS S&W for the officers too, the HP35 could be the personal weapon of the snipers that may also use the L96A1 in green tones. I guess that with the few money that the local govt. will don't have much money to buy 'em in number, but they will not have many sniper teams in the island, maybe 10 in the whole island. But well, who knows... let's C ya

afrika is plenty of L85's A1, so i don't know why the few nogova military units couldn't use it...

only zimbabwe field the L85A1 amongst the african nations.... or as far as i've read/heard/know

the A2's are only in service with the british forces.... most of the A1's were upgraded/due to be upgraded or handed down to TA units. Its not impossible for nogova to use the L85, but i'd only consider it if Nogova was a colonial country (like jamaica, who also use the L85A1)... with czech town names, i severely doubt it

the other weapons are all widely spread around the world, so why not.... although wouldnt you say the L96 is rather specialised for an army like Nogova? I'd say a cheaper weapon like a remington would suffice.

yes messiah but AI made a cheaper version of the AW under a new name forget what it was might of been the poilce one, anyway its still as hard hitting and good as an l96 without the green furniture

In the meantime i think we should let roadkill decide for himself. They are his units after all.

All i can say guys is that all of your comments on weapon choices are most welcome, but i will decide on weapons that are easily avaliable and best suited to a low budget infantry force.

You can always equip the infantry as you want with the allweapons remove command

It called the AE Series.  It uses lower spec materials (different grade of steel) and the AICS stock system.  Chambered in .308 and .243 Winchester as standard.  Various other calibres are available with upgrade kits.

The basic rifle without sights etc retails at Å2200, which compared to some of the other "sniper" rifles out there is alot of money.  Where as a Remington 700 based rifle usually goes for about Å800+extras.

I doubt a cash stretched armed forces would be buying gucci kit.  You are more likely to find a Steyr Remmington 700 in use or a Czech made Dragonov copy.

Small poor country with a Small Armed forces, i seriously doubt they would want to spend more money than they really need to.

If you cant be bothered to research it yourself why bother posting.

R0adki mentioned Sterlings with aimpoints, scopes, maybe those.?

HAHA! If you'd ever used (or seen a Stirling being used) the thought of any sort of optic would reduce you to tears.

Any optics attached to a Stirling Sub machine gun would be shaken apart by the end of the first mag! Besides the effective range of the stirlings would make any optic pointless.

i agree about the stirling MP5 is one thing but the stirling is basically a tarted up sten so it kicks like hell especially if you've got your eye on an optic

Scopes werent my idea, didn't i mention it?Dont put the eye against scope, might save you smashing your eye smile_o.gif

If we look on BIS Nogova they would have a thing, but these talks about how little and poor is shyte too. Nogova would have some stuff when it would look like MAPFACT Nogova2 or something.

So i am supporting my new idea about Chinese AK's and Gustav SMGs, because it's more problably made to BIS Nogova.?.

But as somebloke mentioned before, let the guy decide what to do.

(Going to bed now goodnight.gif )

dude, nogova is basically some po-dunk island thats part of the czech republic, why cant you just use sa's, et cetera, take a look at CSLA! why would they get chinese AKs when they can get russian ones and czech variants a lot easier... think

As above. Anything Warsaw Pactish would fit in nicely. AKs, Skorpions, TTs, RPDs, RPKs, blah blah blah, hell, throw in some pah-pah-shahs if you want to make them seem hella old.

I totally agree about warsaw pact arms....Nogova is a former eastern block territory...even real armies with defense budgets like Poland and Hungary that are now NATO members still use AK variants and Russian derived vehicles. I like FALs and western arms but not for a country like nogova that has no defense industr...hell even Finland and Sweden still have some Eastern block vehicles and weapons and they have good indigenous defense industries....I vote the CSLA SA-58 series and light machineguns. Just one mans opinion but worth considering ( I love the SA58...high rate of fire nice action....Czech guns rock...hell the BREN gun was Czech). You can always westernize the Special operators....Polish GROM units use the MP-5 and some other American and German guns. anyway great start and look forward to it!

Well the BREN is a British variant of the original weapon which was Czech, it is unfair to call the Bren a purely Czech design.

I don't think that Nogova would even have Special Forces, the time, money and equipment needed for training such forces would probably be beyond Nogova's reach, but for some reason these days people will overlook the forces that do 98% of the fighting and concentrate on the "cool" units which play a small part overall in most conflicts, so I think that they will be included anyway despite being inherently unrealistic.

They may well have "scout" troops that are slightly better trained and have better (light) equipment.

Thanks for the chuckle over "sights on a SMG".

I reckon a few friendly suggestions on which weapons would be nice to equip these units is ok. But this whole "Nogova is a poor country so don't make ... weapons 'cause they can't afford it." argument is getting a bit old.

In the end of the day it's the addonmaker who decides.

Recon units are part of any unit(like a company for example), so this would be normal to have so called "scouts" (Recon).
