If the trees used are the default ones, does that mean that if I have the WGL texture pack and Berghoff's nature pack it will use these?

They replace the default trees AFAIK

If you have the WGL Vegetation Pack, you'll never see the normal trees again (I love mine smile_o.gif ). However, you'll need to do some careful blending to use them with a sky back (just copy your original sky files).

I've got that + the latest skies, damn it's good.

Yup, Berghoff's Nature Pack + WGL texture pack + Modulsky sky replacement = T3h 53xX0rZ

Any island which uses default vegetation gets updated too which is what's so good about it thumbs-up.gif

Cheers M8

nice part of an isle, hopefully you will be able finishing the rest of the terrain.

Maybe you cut a part to get it finished earlier in that style you have begun - quiet cool. -> Fish Style ,hein tounge2.gif - ´cause i think it is as big as it needs to be but really great work.

So,encore vais travailler

Happy birthday Jakerod!

Great looking island by the way, I like what you've done so far with it. It is amazing how good it can look using the standard vegetation, everything is nicely laid out and has a great feel to it.

I'll make some of my own custom mod ("ECP2010") screenshots with updated skies, textures and vegetation, if you wish!

Nice lil island!

You guys think there is anything that needs improvement? Anything you want me to add, take away improve on?

Hmmm, well, fill up the island of course! tounge2.gif

Nah, lemme think...

I'm hoping you'll decide to add one (yes, no more than one - realism, remember!wink_o.gif VERY LARGE military base with the Mapfact Barracken addon (see Mapfact Nogova - Military to see what I mean, or OFPL Lechistan). However, if you decide to stay away from addons, I won't complain. The farmland theme is nice!

I'll post some pics of "optimised" Owl when I can. Good job mate.

Happy Birthday for yesterday and nice little demo smile_o.gif

As always your layouts are amazingly realistic, BIS should hire you biggrin_o.gif

I can offer very little for suggestions, but I can only offer comments (based on other islands I collect) on what i see as you expand.

1 - As this is a large island you may have to throw in some variations;

a) Big broken BIS forrests, ie with small gaps, paths and holes.

b) Open unused farmland

c) desert

d) few more hills and occasional cliff.

e) another river or 2

f) some military and factory zones

g) couple of ports

2) I don't mind BIS only addon islands, especially when you make them look the way you do.

Keep up the great work.

Thanks Gnat I will be using some of those suggestions. I do not however intend to put in a desert just because I feel that would be unrealistic. I already want to put in factories and I also have a space for a base prepped a little. (West side of the River southern half you will find a helipad over looking the water)

@Fighter

thanks for the mirror

@All

Thanks for the Happy Birthdays, it went quite well had a lot of fun with my friends.

Fully understand Jake.

Oh, also, winding rivers are much more interesting than straight ones, but yes, the texture merges can be a little untidy as you wind a river, so I understand if you avoid.

And thats a double, the inside of bends can be big expanses of sand and shubs biggrin_o.gif .... no no, thats not called desert cuz the waters nearby! hehehe.

I agree with Gnat's opinion of rivers there - especially when the bank is lined with bushes for SpecOps/Spetsnaz to hide in! biggrin_o.gif

this is one of the nicest and most immersive islands i have yet seen.

one suggestion - try a version with berghoffs nature pack. it would be great. but honestly its damn sweet as is.

nice work,

Great stuff, it's so rruuuural (and love the 'lowland' concept! ); the best enviroment for the warfare! Nicely, methodically, and above all realistically created. So far ... wink_o.gif

You guys think there is anything that needs improvement? Anything you want me to add, take away improve on?

If you'll just continue with the job, and it'll be perfect. Just try to avoid adding 'unrealistical' (or better saying 'non fiting' ) things: like Gnat's c), f), and conditionally d) and e), and implement those which fit into the island's 'theme': Gnat's a), b), g), and conditionally d) and e).

Ah come on - is ONE large military base going to hurt on an island that size?

I advise that you keep the standard BIS trees, mate. Anyone who wants to replace them simply has to download the WGL replacement pack to get BIS Resistance foliage - but anyone with a very slow computer will not like it one bit.
