Use an Island Editor like WrpTool or Breathe and start replacing the existing Vegetation. smile_o.gif

On page one of this thread Berghoff said:

Quote[/b] ]I've also converted 3 and made 1 totally new Island with this pack. Everon, Malden, Kolgujev and Nogova are included and a Island called Nordic ( smile_o.gif which requires Ares Finnish Building pack )

I just can't find a download link for these converted islands right now.

Here's some progress on new trees for ArmA, just testing various stuff. :P I've been studying OFP:e a bit to learn by watching hehe.

The textures look blurry but in 3dsmax you can tell what sort of tree it is by looking at the leafes.

Berghoff, you must change info on your page because currently its almost impossible to find converted islans there smile_o.gif

For ppl looking for islands:

It is exactly as quoted - search for island called Nordic. It contains also converted Everon,Malden, Kolgujev and Nogova.

Yea, the Islands are included in the nordic Island.

Anyway just to let you know I'm now working on an update that will fix the view-fire-geo lods. I will check all trees one by one and reworked the view lod structure as it doesn't work well when I binarized them. Also some new stuff is included such as water lilies/reeds, small rocks etc some small things still missing.

I'm also was planning an replacement pack suggested in first few pages but so far I had no luck implenting new models in the data3d.pbo as I kinda ruins everything after I patched it to replace old trees with new ones. If anyone knows what file to replace and with which program (Winpbo patch feature doesn't work correctly destroys entire game :P) I'm glad to hear it.

Berghoff,

I don't have a lot of time, so I'll get to the point and follow up later if you have questions.

PBOX will allow you to decompress and then repbo the the data and data3d pbo's without any problems. I've done it a thousand times. In fact, I have done exactly what people have asked you to do and incorporated your fantastic trees right into the data pbo (changing the names and overwriting the trees/ bushes that I wanted to replace.)

PBOX is fast and I have never gotten an error from it. I don't know why it isn't THE ONLY program everyone uses for editing pbo's.

Well because the oak tree isn't too common on the orgional Islands I made it a bit more detailed than the other trees. And I've reworked a couple of models so they have lesser polys. One models changed from 700 to ~300 polys whistle.gif , which was on the update list for months. smile_o.gif

Are you making a new pack or are you just overwriting the models in one of your existing packs (which would be better IMHO)?

I'm just getting the bugs out and made some adjustments to the existing models, no new pack is being made.

By the way Berghoff.Decreasing trees' faces from 700 to 300.

Won't it affect the look of the trees?
