sanctuary 19 Posted December 7, 2005 Dynamic Mission Alliance modteam is glad to announce the release of the Williec's DMA European Resistance. This work from Williec is featuring no less than 24 characters with different camos and other fine details. Enough choices for everyone looking for a guerilla/opfor/mercenary/resistance addon to make a mission in temperate climates or jungle islands. Links for download (thanks to anyone offering a mirror) Filefront Rapidshare OFPC.de mirror OFP.info mirror Important This Addon NEEDS JAM3 http://www.ofpec.com/addons/JAM.php There is an included mission featuring these units that should keep you busy for a while, no other addons needed. People who completed both CWC and Resistance should find it interesting. Read the file Readme.txt for details. But that's not all, Williec kindly added the following. It should be interesting for addon makers wanting to create new units. Quote[/b] ]All models included with this release are in mlod format. I chose not to binarize them so that they can be edited, modified, updated etc without people having to ask for the mlod versions. You also do not need to ask permission to edit and release a new addon made from these. I am also including the UV maps for easier texture creation. There are only 3 things I ask if you create a new addon using these units or parts of these units. 1. You just add a credit line in the readme crediting Williec and DMA 2. If you start a thread in the BIS forum you state right away where the base unit came from. 3. You seriously consider releasing the final release in mlod format as well. Williec Isn't that nice, heh Have fun. special thanks to Ebud for his help. and thanks to Our Weapons for their superb hand models. Thanks to MrN for spotting it, the ClassNames.txt has some wrong listing Here is the good listing <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE"> Here are the good classnames Normal JAM versions of the soldiers -Resistance Side : euro_res_LDR (Leader) euro_res_LDRNT (Leader Night) euro_res_MED (Medic) euro_res_RFL1 (Rifleman1) euro_res_RFL2 (Rifleman2) euro_res_RFL3 (Rifleman3) euro_res_RFL4 (Rifleman4) euro_res_AUT1 (Auto Rifleman1) euro_res_AUT2 (Auto Rifleman2) euro_res_MG1 (Machinegunner1) euro_res_MG2 (Machinegunner2) euro_res_GL1 (Grenadier1) euro_res_GL2 (Grenadier2) euro_res_GL3 (Grenadier3) euro_res_RPG1 (RPG Grenadier1) euro_res_RPG2 (RPG Grenadier2) euro_res_HGL (Heavy Grenadier) euro_res_AT (AT Rifleman) euro_res_MRK1 (Marksman) euro_res_MRK2 (Marksman2) euro_res_SNP1 (Sniper1) euro_res_SNP2 (Sniper2) euro_res_DEM1 (Demolition1) euro_res_DEM2 (Demolition2) JAM HD version of the soldiers - Resistance Side : euro_res_LDRHD (Leader) euro_res_LDRNTHD (Leader Night) euro_res_MEDHD (Medic) euro_res_RFL1HD (Rifleman1) euro_res_RFL2HD (Rifleman2) euro_res_RFL3HD (Rifleman3) euro_res_RFL4HD (Rifleman4) euro_res_AUT1HD (Auto Rifleman1) euro_res_AUT2HD (Auto Rifleman2) euro_res_MG1HD (Machinegunner1) euro_res_MG2HD (Machinegunner2) euro_res_GL1HD (Grenadier1) euro_res_GL2HD (Grenadier2) euro_res_GL3HD (Grenadier3) euro_res_RPG1HD (RPG Grenadier1) euro_res_RPG2HD (RPG Grenadier2) euro_res_ATHD (AT Rifleman) euro_res_MRK1HD (Marksman) euro_res_MRK2HD (Marksman2) euro_res_DEM1HD (Demolition1) euro_res_DEM2HD (Demolition2) Normal version of the soldiers - East side : euro_est_LDR (Officer Day) euro_est_LDRNT (Officer Night) euro_est_MED (Medic) euro_est_RFL1 (Rifleman1) euro_est_RFL2 (Rifleman2) euro_est_AUT (Auto Rifleman) euro_est_MG (Machinegunner) euro_est_GL (Grenadier) euro_est_RPG (RPG Grenadier) euro_est_AT (AT Grenadier) euro_est_SNP (Sniper) euro_est_SPE (Specialist) JAM HD version of the soldiers - East side : euro_est_LDRHD (Officer Day) euro_est_LDRNTHD (Officer Night) euro_est_MEDHD (Medic) euro_est_RFL1HD (Rifleman1) euro_est_RFL2HD (Rifleman2) euro_est_AUTHD (Auto Rifleman) euro_est_MGHD (Machinegunner) euro_est_GLHD (Grenadier) euro_est_RPGHD (RPG Grenadier) euro_est_ATHD (AT Grenadier) euro_est_SNPHD (Sniper) euro_est_SPEHD (Specialist)

ag_smith 0 Posted December 7, 2005 Never seen this one coming. Seems like finally something to replace the old Generic Opfor addon. Thx a lot, DMA!
Mr ThunderMakeR 0 Posted December 7, 2005 Whats the difference between this addon and the last DMA Resistance addon? Is it meant to replace the last one?

sanctuary 19 Posted December 7, 2005 Whats the difference between this addon and the last DMA Resistance addon? Is it meant to replace the last one? This addon has some units in common, but those common units are reworked, and there is a lot more in it. PBO names, models names and classes names are different, so it does not overwrite the previous pack, and there are no problem running both in the same time. AKM 0 Posted December 7, 2005 You've done some nice work with what appear to be Russian-inspired camouflage patterns, in particular an ANA sample of Kamysh and what would appear to be Flora, and a nice 'freestyle' Lesnaya pattern too. Man, if you're ever in Canada, give me a shout and I'll buy you a beer. The timing is perfect, really. First the Mi-8s, now this. How can I not making a Chechnya-inspired skirmish. LoTekK 0 Posted December 7, 2005 Spiffy! And at only 7+ megs. You can just love winrar compression I didn't even notice the original size after unpacking until you mentioned it - DMA-EuroGuer.rar: 7.2MB Unpacked: 40MB Nice compression ratio. Oh, took a look at the units. Really nice stuff. The variety of different looks is superb, and I haven't even had the chance to look at the EastRes units yet. C4P741N 0 Posted December 7, 2005 DMA is fast becoming my favourite Mod Team. These units look kickass, unfortunately work will get in the way of my testing of them, downloading now. Thanks Williec and DMA you guys rock.

AiRBLaDE 0 Posted December 8, 2005 dont get me wrong, its a very nice addon. Â But the only thing that I dont like about it is it's 37 MB ! Â The other DMA resistance pack was only 5 MB (after I recompressed it). I know its because of the variety of soldiers, but couldnt have the size been scaled down a bit more? CanadianTerror 0 Posted December 8, 2005 This has to be my favorite resistance troop addon. A lot of variety! Excellent work!

I would suggest to anyone who is worried about the file size to depbo the addon, binarize them, then repbo. It should cut the size by half.

There are 24 different models in MLOD format to allow texture or model makers to work these units as a basis for theirs, like Williec stated. Consider that MLOD format model has a bigger size than an ODOL one. Consider that due to the big variety of camo , there are several textures files. Removing some models was out of question, and converting them to ODOL would have killed the editing the basis purpose. EDIT : notice that if you are unsure of how to binarize the models, you can always unpbo and re-pbo with MakePBO. The size of the compressed pbo will be 15,1 mo instead of the current uncompressed 36,7 mo. DMA-EuroGuer.rar: 7.2MBUnpacked: 40MB Nice compression ratio. man how do u actually compress this stuffive got WINRAR and i manage to compress 7000 kb into 6700 kb only Not only because of performance reasons, the fact i made an uncompressed pbo is responsible of this small download. From several of my tests, Winrar is doing a way better compression job to an uncompressed pbo than on a compressed pbo. This way even people on 56k can enjoy this addon without having to download for days. EDIT : instaposted by Ebud
sputnik monroe 102 Posted December 8, 2005 Excellent, I'm really at a loss for words. Best generic opfor pack bar none. I'd say more but I need to go to sleep at the moment. I just couldn't wait until morning to say something so I thought I'd drop in and say excellent work.
sanctuary 19 Posted December 8, 2005 People, when you will be bored by the included mission and after toying around in the editor, if you want to create missions using this addon, i can host them on Filefront if you have no host, and link them in the 1st post. C4P741N 0 Posted December 8, 2005 I don't have all DMA addons but I was wondering why, in the DMA Army Modpack and this addon, that the DMA tag was not added to the pbos?
sanctuary 19 Posted December 8, 2005 For the "mini replacement" DMA modpacks (army or naval), considering the content replacing BIS models is not directly a work from DMA (only the config/optimisation is), it would have been misplaced to put a DMA tag. For DMA addons, like this one or the other self made DMA ones (resistance replacement, oil workers, M202A1, AI snipers) , i have to say that, despite Honchoblack registered it on OFPEC, i have totally forgot about until your post And as what can be read there has not been updated since months, it seems i am not the only DMA member that have forgotten this tag thing
ag_smith 0 Posted December 8, 2005 And as what can be read there has not been updated since months, it seems i am not the only DMA member that have forgotten this tag thing Doh! I'm not even a member of DMA and it seems that I'm the only one using the tag (for the addon I made for Libya... actually honcho changed the DMA_libya.pbo name itself, too).
