JBâ„¢ 1 Posted January 11, 2006 Im still not sure about TP3, there seems to be quite alot of problems with it, falling through bridges, AI paths and other things. The main negative point I have about it is that the whole pack is encypted so all those nice buidings and textures cant be used in wrptool etc!
MAA 127 Posted January 11, 2006 @JB [sASMOD]: Most of bugs will be fixed in patch.
Heatseeker 0 Posted January 12, 2006 http://vbs.ofp-popo.com/screens/tp3/tp3_25.jpg Im guessing some compromises were taken in order to create such huge amount of world detail, some textures look pre resistance but from the pictures seen i still think this looks like the highest acomplishment achieved with the OPF engine, atleast if complex missions run smooth (not like Tonal did). Just imagine if it was possible to populate that huge city with believable, real time, civilian population and behaviours too. I think BIS will definetly try to do that one day . berghoff 11 Posted January 23, 2006 Very impressive shots, I must say its quite nice to see that ofp as become like that. Just compare that to the screens from 1997.

I didn't test it with a complex mission (are there any?) but you can fly "through" the city w/o lags (you only see many many LODs switching).
brataccas 0 Posted January 25, 2006 Its interesting that BIS included Saddam and his relatives in this pack . that was made by nephilm I think
martinovic 0 Posted June 30, 2006 Hey anyone know what's up with this website? http://www.virtualbattlefieldsystems.com/ Has tons of screens from VBS and stuff... who is this Coalescent Studios? "virtualbattlfieldsystems" ... what's up with all that?
raedor 8 Posted June 30, 2006 There's a FAQ on BI's page, not easy to find, but here you go: FAQ.
mr burns 132 Posted July 1, 2006 Found a bunch of pictures on a french squad site, VBS mission editors will definetly have alot to work with . Thanks for link. Pictures looks unbelieving http://vbs.ofp-popo.com/screens/tp3/tp3_30.jpg ... Just imagine if it was possible to populate that huge city with believable, real time, civilian population and behaviours too. I think BIS will definetly try to do that one day .It surely is, using mapfacts DAC it´d be one hell of a fun city But i´m getting major headaches just trying to think about a ressource friendly setup for a town of that size edit: I wonder if maybe the "old" VBS1 addons could be bought and used for ArmA once VBS2 is released? Hornet85 0 Posted July 16, 2006 Seen this VBS1 site? (maybe iam late as allways) http://www.virtualbattlefieldsystems.com MVTC? MVTC, DISMOUT and VIMS can be purchased by using the "Contact Us" button. VBS1 is no longer offered by Coalescent via internet sales. Ongoing support is provided to current customers. AfrographX 0 Posted July 16, 2006 Seems they got a new customer with the United States Secret Service. Check the Screenshot section! I'm wondering why they are recreating MOUT facilities if they could simulate real cities.
Heatseeker 0 Posted July 16, 2006 Dismout and MVTC look diferent from VBS, maybe powered by a diferent graphics engine.. . I dont think these apps are conected to BIS and VBS2, they look GTA'ish, VBS2 will be the next big thing but problably not for us, still look forward to see some of it . edit: Quote[/b] ] DISMOUT is built on the extremely robust TorqueTM game engine.. yep, http://www.virtualbattlefieldsystems.com/press23.html not BIS tech and not very interesting but some engine features sound familiar. hellfish6 7 Posted July 16, 2006 This is an OFP site, not a site about the current status of VBS.
