echo1 0 Posted June 24, 2006 I'm happy to report I havent had a single CTD yet and ive been testing this for a week.Well, I'm happy anyways. That CTD prob was killing me. How did you manage that!? What did you do?. I believe he was talking about beta testing the new version
JobJenkins222 0 Posted June 24, 2006 Ah yeah, should try reading all the post next time
Shadow NX 1 Posted June 24, 2006 After playing a few days with the newer patched version i must say i didnt encounter one single ctd ^^ But my OFP now doesnt want to start anymore if i switch FFUR06 off... But thats another story and i guess its rather my fault
Blazen 0 Posted June 24, 2006 I'm not testing the patch... but when we were experimenting with the 2006 release. We showed everyone how to make a second installation of OFP just for FFUR mods so you wouldn't have to worry about changing over the worlds, Dta, and that addon needed in the Res/addons folder for the High resolution Islands. We never could get any of the FFUR mods to run on the dedicated server. However we didn't really bust our balls trying to figure out how to do that because of the CTD problems we faced playing in Multiplayer. Hopefully TB's word is true and the new patch will resolve any Dedicated server conflicts with this mod. Keep up the good work FFUR! Can't wait for that patch ! CanadianTerror 0 Posted June 24, 2006 I'm testing the new patch...yes. So all the crashes everyone including myself had before...should be resolved in the new version.
jds54 1 Posted June 24, 2006 I'm kinda confused. I don't know which pack to download. Here are my questions: 1) If i download the FFUR Desert pack, do all the orginal SP missions get converted to desert format? Is anything changed in them besides the units? 2) If i download the FFUR desert pack, will it contain modern units? 3) If i download the FFUR desert pack, do i have to download the FFUR 2006 pack? 4) What would you recommend to me, all i want is a desert conversion mod which also converts the orginal BIS SP missions to desert format.
echo1 0 Posted June 24, 2006 Desert Mod converts all the units to desert ones, and I think you can get desert versions of the BIS islands, but Im not too sure about them. It replaces all the units with 1985 units, not modern ones. It is independent from 2006 and/or the other FFURs.
jds54 1 Posted June 24, 2006 Is there a FFUR 2006 desert conversion pack? Also is the 2006 pack just woodland only?
echo1 0 Posted June 24, 2006 I think theyre updating the Desert/Winter packs, and that they have modern units. At the moment, 2006 is Woodland only
Blackbuck 9 Posted June 24, 2006 in the .rar archive for the latest one or any of them there is a link to the ffur website with all the releases

jds54 1 Posted June 24, 2006 Got ya, thanks for the info. Download the 2006 pack though, im really impressed actually. But i would like to point out a few disapointments: 1) Instead of the CSLA helis, you should of really used the BAS ones, they are much better IMO. 2) You should add more units, espically vehicles and air units. More units wouldn't hurt either. Unfortunately, this isn't staying on my hard drive much longer, as i like playing desert missions. BTW, are you releasing a desert 2006 pack soon? If so, how long? Thunderbird 0 Posted June 24, 2006 Hi folks, After a couple of hours of work, I'm glad to show you a beta of the new MBTs explosion Fx that will be included to the next incoming patch. As you would notice, the level of Dust & Smoke has been increased (during the impact) in order to make the Fx closer to real life explosions that you usually see in Military documentaries and movies. This script has been inspired from WGL tanks effects which are in my judgement, the most realistic ones carried out thus far. I hope you would appreciate it, (It still needs several enhancements, though.[that would hopefully be done shortly]). Movie - 15 seconds Quote[/b] ]I'm kinda confused. I don't know which pack to download Please don't download the previous packs, they are outdated and they need some serious updates. (FFUR 1985 [woodland, Desert & Winter], the same goes to the FFUR Asia as well. Anyway, they will be removed from our website as soon as it gets updated with some news. Quote[/b] ] Instead of the CSLA helis, you should of really used the BAS ones, they are much better IMO. CSLA Choppers fit very well because the models have less polys than BAS ones and they look good as well. Quote[/b] ]You should add more units, espically vehicles and air units. More units wouldn't hurt either. Several additions have already been carried out, but as already said, one of the most important points of the FFUR 2006 is that you can use 'Extra' (Addons, Islands or light mods like [sFP, BAS...etc]) with the FFUR 2006 without experiencing any major issues in game. Thanks everyone for the kind words. Regards Thunderbird84
mp_phonix 0 Posted June 24, 2006 Very awsome tank effetct TB but wont that reduce the FPS ? and Also a question about the "Light config" Are the recoils etc are going to be in there + model changes or its only the model changes ?
jds54 1 Posted June 24, 2006 Aright, that's cool. But will the FFUR team release a 2006 Desert Pack? If so, when?
Sarge6754 0 Posted June 25, 2006 VERY VERY SWEET, TB! Btw, the most realistic particle fx in a game ever are probably from "Lock On: Modern Air Combat". Download the demo from www.lo-mac.com and try an A10 training mission at very high graphical detail. Firing rockets and guns at the ground is just JAW DROPPING! Look there and to WGL5 for inspiration. Btw, I really hope you add very visible shockwaves like in WGL5, they're the best part. Thanks!
dkell3 0 Posted June 25, 2006 TB,the new explosion fix is really cool.Although I am a fan of having the turrents blowing off.Any chance that effect will remain. Also is there a way for the turrets popping off,to be random and the height be lower.
10motb 0 Posted June 25, 2006 im sorry if this was asked befor, u say that death animations are behind ctd, are u going to fix them or just not use them in the patch
Totala 0 Posted June 25, 2006 New explosion sounds great. Anychance to see the turret flying up in the sky, at least once every 5-10 shots on target ?
prodetar2 0 Posted June 25, 2006 "drool" at the sounds of that blast hope with the patch it will sound almost the same and not because the sound in the movie makes it sound better about the exploding turret those questions have been asked before like10 pages back i think maybe more maybe less tb already said the blown off turret will stay but with less amount of blown of a  few will others wont to say easily for my opinion anyways
echo1 0 Posted June 25, 2006 2) You should add more units, espically vehicles and air units. More units wouldn't hurt either. If you want more units, download addons, thats what theyre there for @10motb: Yeah, the death anims have been fixed up
