456820 0 Posted February 11, 2006 it did actually take a while to spot them all but i found them couldnt see them when they were prone though. If the ACU looks anything like in that picture i wouldnt mind using it. But at the moment it looks just like winter camo. If it would be possible for you to make it just like in those pictures i would like to use them in ofp, but ofp fields are also a different colour to VBS1's so that could also effect how they look. Also how do you mean by a patch so people who want the BDU can have it? is it like an addon you replace?
Thunderbird 0 Posted February 11, 2006 Quote[/b] ]Also how do you mean by a patch so people who want the BDU can have it? is it like an addon you replace? -> Quote[/b] ]As already said, the ACU won't replace the BDU, it will just be an addition for people who requested'em. Btw, Nice shots Mr.Reality, although all ACU have the same pattern, there are are several variants (Urban, Woodland and Desert) as you could you see here. Here's the new update of the ACU camo (Enhanced the pockets, boots, decreased the brightness of the pattern color...etc). Now ACU soldiers blends in better with OFP fields. Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Best Regards Thunderbird84
456820 0 Posted February 11, 2006 looking much better in this version, but in my opinion still not green enough bring out the green slightly and maybe slightly decrease the brightness and it would look much better. But thats only my opinion.
eestikas88 0 Posted February 11, 2006 i agree original ofp islands are woodland,so i wouldn't mind using "woodland" ACU for them
quiet_man 8 Posted February 11, 2006 seeing the screenshoots Wilco once made new animation package were he slightly raised the weapon in first person view 1. looks more realistic and in line with external model 2. with some training you can realy aim at short range without cross 3. you can enjoy the weapon models I'm still using it. quiet_man
CameronMcDonald 146 Posted February 12, 2006 ACU is looking excellent. Great job! One point to make, though - the arm with the US Flag on it should also have the big patch like the unit one does. Also, shouldn't the Interceptor armour have an ACU cover? (Or a BDU one?) @ Mr. Reality - desert boots are standard issue with ACU uniforms, and are to be used in all environs. Bobcatt666 0 Posted February 12, 2006 Desert tan combat boots are movng into standard issue, the Army is trying to phase out black boots. and black colored equipment, the new pain cammo is three color now black is removed as one of the base colors, and now Brown green and tan. Somebody says black isnt a natral color anymore so get rid of everything black..) the paint is mostly on new vehicles being brought in old vehicles as usual will not be repainted onad the patern maintained unless there is a reason to repaint the whole vehicle. Even seeing Tan colored vehicle tires being tested. In hopes they will not sun rot as quickly as black standard tires dispatate heat better and last longer. . Thunderbird 0 Posted February 12, 2006 'spent the whole night in order to accomplish the 3rd Beta of the ACU soldiers. *Decreased the brightness of the whole textures and reworked the pattern color. *Reworked the canteen and the ammunitions bag textures. *Fixed several minor details. In my judgement, it would be better to not to make'em more green as normal, as you can notice here. Regards Thunderbird84

Thunderbird 0 Posted February 12, 2006 Hi; Quote[/b] ]hey Thunderbird... Who's M-249 is that in those pics? BOH M249. Quote[/b] ]thunderbird, I've noticed that the arm pockets don't have flaps....I only see Velcro.... Some enhancements are still required in order to make the ACU soldiers the most authentic possible, they'll be done within the next incoming days. Quote[/b] ]how well the the latest version blend in with the ofp enviroment? If we'd use an island using the same ground textures than those shown on Mr.Reality Shots, FFUR ACU soldiers will blends in perfectly, but even VBS1 ACU won't blends in that well with WGL High reso islands because their ground textures are too green. Quote[/b] ]Top/bottom meaning exacltly where? These 2 parts of the battle dress. -1st Part -2nd Part Thanks. Regards Thunderbird84
EricJ 763 Posted February 12, 2006 Okay the question is again, what specific parts do you need? There are tons of ref shots at http://www.army.mil If you got the top and bottom already, what am I going to add to it? The thing is the color of the ACU changes vs. the environment it is around, so whatever shot I take is going to be different.
Thunderbird 0 Posted February 12, 2006 Quote[/b] ]Okay the question is again, what specific parts do you need? 2 shots of the 2 parts composing the battle dress (1 shot of the vest and 1 shot of the pant), ideally from a frontal view please. Quote[/b] ]There are tons of ref shots at army.mil 'Have already seen a lot of these shots and collected over 60 pics from militaryphotos.net in order to make the ACU textures, but most of them show the ACU in urban or desert environments. I think it would be better to get some neutral photos done in a fairly illuminated area (like yours) in order to make the textures the better possible. EricJ 763 Posted February 12, 2006 Ahh okay, the thing is, you're gonna get the same lighting as those two shots you showed me, which is why I'm being an ass about it. I have no problem helping you out, it's just that I'd be wasting my time since those are what you'd get anyways. It's just OFP making it brighter due to the engine. However I would suggest maybe throwing a darker layer over the overall PSD and viewing it in-game. The ACU is the trickiest (though get with Nephilim, she seems to have gotten it right though) uniform since it changes so much depending on the environment, and finding a happy medium so far is... well tricky

marine26thmeu 0 Posted February 12, 2006 I'm pretty sure that tb84 already discussed that the ECP craters would be done away with or the probability of them occuring will be reduced significantly.
Thunderbird 0 Posted February 12, 2006 Those craters have already been taken out from FFUR 2005/2006 and FFUR Euro and will be removed from 85 packs as well. Regards Thunderbird84
