450R 1 Posted March 30, 2007 Almost makes me wish it was a FPS/RTS mix. Can't wait to see how the integrated support (artillery and CAS) works.
zwobot 19 Posted April 26, 2007 Theres a new video up at the CM:SF site
simulacra 0 Posted April 26, 2007 In my later gaming years (that is, these days) I'm feeling more drawn to these kinds of games where you dont have to do combat yourself, dunno why. But I think that CM:SF is gonna be one of the best tac-sims in a long time.
sanctuary 19 Posted April 26, 2007 If this game can be modded, has a mission editor/creator, has capacity of having new combat theaters in the game instead of only the Syria one, possibilities of getting new units/vehicles/nations, i highly doubt i will resist buying this and/or touch anything else for years. ebud 18 Posted April 27, 2007 From what I heard all you can do with this is retexture units already in there. No importing new units, weapons, vehicles, etc. The maps look pretty generic, so I'm thinking they could be used for any ME country and with reskins, the Syrians could become any number of OPFOR. They plan on releasing several expansions for this from what I remember, so there is little hope of getting creative with this game engine. Mission editor I'm assuming will still be there though. zwobot 19 Posted April 27, 2007 Yes the cm series is quite unmoddable in comparison to Ofp and ArmA when the tools will have arrived I think I have read something about improved modding capabilities for the new game in the battlefront forum, but I might be wrong. I'm hoping for an awesome expansion giving us some cold war action in germany in the 60s/70s.
sanctuary 19 Posted April 27, 2007 Even if i understand this from their commercial viewpoint, it is sad for me that modding will be limited in some way. Well, at least my neverending quest to find the definitive wargame will continue
ebud 18 Posted April 27, 2007 I thought the next expansion was back to WW2. Just great
simulacra 0 Posted April 27, 2007 No, the next stand alone game based on the CM:SF engine will be ww2. The next expansion would be uk or german forces, or something like that...
Stryder 0 Posted April 28, 2007 Release date according to Paradox (their publisher I believe) is June 11. Not very far away! http://www.paradoxplaza.com/index.p....mid=
zwobot 19 Posted April 29, 2007 I hope it is really finished until then. Don't want to see the same thing as with ArmA in europe

zwobot 19 Posted July 18, 2007 Will the pc requirements be the same as for Theatre of War (one of the few new games that works on my old machine )? I think when you play in WeGo the game will be less demanding than when you play in realtime mode. No news of a demo or beta?.. Nothing official as far as I know, but don't expect a demo before the game itsself has been released on July 27th. I don't need a demo either to know that this game will rock, I've already preordered
Wardude1987 0 Posted July 18, 2007 Wow, this game looks great. Even if it sucked it would still be good as its not another overdone 1000 times already WW2 game. I really dont get why developers keep making WW2 over and over. There should be a several year moratorium on all WW2 games.
