Shashman 0 Posted July 17, 2006 i did :P derrick may also i seen juan atkins was on also aswell as blake baxter tho i cant remember hearing anything recent by blake baxter and he could be dodgy anyway..although i suppose everyone has their "shite" moments.. err stacy pullen kenny larkin theo parrish carl craig underground resistance jeff mills (wheres my rabbit ? is a purpose maker track) mad mike redplanet stuff kevin saunderson..e-dancer octave-one anthony shakir drexciya suburban knight err theres a few i can think of off the top of me head Jeff Mills, Underground Resistance,Kevin Saunderson, gooooooooood! Can't say I've heard any of the others' stuff, except Carl Craig (bit too experimental and 'soft' for me) Ultimate respect to Jeff Mills for being the only DJ I've seen to play DK8 - Murder Was The Bass! wheres my rabbit ? 10 Posted July 17, 2006 yer i know what you mean about carl craig's stuff his albums are a bit hit n miss if your in the mood for some good honest techno tracks although landcruising is a good album its usually the case tho with most "dance" artist/dj's when they make albums they tend to try and show you "what else they can do" and it usually turns out a bit shite when your wanting some cutting dance tracks which you know them for.. "mad" mike banks, robert hood and jeff mills started UR back in the day but then jeff mills left.. redplanet is a quite secretive sister label to UR relasing stuff by "the martian" at a rate of about 1 a year since 1991 nobody knows/knew who the martian is although in 2000 ish they released a compilation "best of" CD and put a name to them although that could have just been more misinformation..people just thought it was mad mike making it all.. kenny larkin goes under different names "dark comedy" being the most well known one..noted as one of the most influential techno artists ever stacy pullen i reccomend checking out an album called "the collected works of kosmic messenger" "magic" juan atkins aka "cybertron" and "model 500" should need no introduction as it was him ,derrick may and kevin saunderson that invented "techno" in the first place. err google the rest i'm sick of typing or check here for all things detroit http://www.submerge.com/ quite cheap ...till you add the shipping cost
Shashman 0 Posted July 17, 2006 I've recently taken my love of techno to the next level and started mixing (on a m8s equipment though) and I've started my vinyl collection. So far I've got Agoria - The Sky Is Clear Agoria - Kofea Collabs 3000 (Chris Liebing vs. Speedy J) - Tunox Nathan Fake - The Sky Was Pink (includes Live version, Icelandic mix and James Holden mix) Alex Smoke - Don't See The Point As you can see, the majority of my collection is mnml techno, and some harder techno with Collabs 3000, which are the two genres I prefer. Shashman 0 Posted July 17, 2006 Hahaha yeah tell me bout it. I'm like a fat kid in a sweet shop whenever I enter a vinyl shop... And I don't even have my own decks So what's your other loved genre you speak of? My mate (who got me into DJing) is a total UK hard dance and trance/prog trance/hard trance addict and has a heap load of Tidy vinyls and Electronic Elements (Marcus Schulz' label), and after experiencing UK hard dance this weekend at DV (Lisa Lashes, Anne Savage, K90, Dark By Design) I gotta say I'm liking it more n more. P.S. If you're looking to offload more vinyls, they'd be more than welcome here
wheres my rabbit ? 10 Posted July 17, 2006 well i dont really stick to one genre..i like all sorts of music.. theres good stuff in all genres aswell as utter crap. i like everything from jazz , classical , soul , funk ,disco, rock, folk ,deep house, techno ,electro ,weird electronica, music that sounds like someone throwing a drumkit down some stairs ..just what ever floats my boat really.. there is really only 2 types of music "good" and "bad"

GoOB 0 Posted August 26, 2006 I've been listening to this band:http://www.myspace.com/slagsmalsklubben Can anyone who speaks or knows swedish direct me to a site with their album(s) for sale? Their record company, Djur and Mir recordings (http://smk.ko2000.nu/dam/index.php?MainShop) have their CD's up for grabs for 5 to 11 euros a pop, and I think they deliver to the US, which I'm not sure that CDON does.. Whilst you're there check out 50hz and planktron aswell!
