Raptor 10 Posted September 16, 2005 How do you can read on ofp.info and flashpoint.ru , the Jurrasic Park Mod was released in a Beta version. Quote[/b] ]The Lost World MOD, which deals with Jurrasic Park, has finally released a beta to the public. The current pack comes with a few dinosaurs on each side, a island, and various objects. It's quite amazing what can be done with the OFP engine. The MOD has some great animations, and much, much more. On a side note, the MOD is still looking for memebers to help out, and the GUI is currently NOT working. This should be fixed soon. from ofp.info Images: Mirrors: @ofpc.de Jurrasic Park Beta (48 MB/Rar-File) Jurrasic Park Beta Example Mission (2 KB/Rar-File) @ofp.info Jurrasic Park Beta (48 MB/Rar-File) Jurrasic Park Beta Example Mission (2 KB/Rar-File) @flashpoint.ru Jurrasic Park Beta (48 MB/Rar-File) Enjoy! Pappy Boyington 0 Posted September 16, 2005 pretty neat. just fooled around a bit with it. you do need to rename the dinos in the editor so we know which is which. i do have one tiny personal complaint.. but its no big deal. the InGen helicopter.. that model is from the USCG Mod. (i can tell by the blue tinted windows and the added extras like the ball on teh front and the inflatable rafts (tube thingys) on the exterior).. now im not complaining.. its fine that you used it. just be sure to credit the USCG mod for that model in your readme. i didnt see any credits list in the current readme unless i missed it then i applogise. but all i ask is a lil credit. you are more then welcome to use it. interior textures and all. just credit. thats all we want. please folks dont blow this into a "omg they stoled it!" argument. i saw it in the screenshots awhile ago.. and emailed the mod leader and told him that i regonized the chopper in the screenshots and that they were welcome to use it. so althou they didnt ask... its not that big a deal. i just want credit givin to the USCG mod for that model
Guest RKSL-Rock Posted September 16, 2005 I've been playing with this abit this morning and had a whale of a time. Some constructive comments: Most of the buildings are "bland" - I know its a beta and alot are unfinished but they are just boxes and dont have any other the feel of that the movies building had. - Worn down etc - More detail would be good and wear & weathering on the texures would be good. Dinos on sloped surfaces - I place a stegosaurus on a hill side and its legs stretched to met the ground will its body remained level - i assume this is 'feature' of the scripting process. Impact Sounds - It seems when the Carnivorous beasties attack another dino you can hear the sound of "bullets" hitting the target. Other than that - excellant Beta - I'm really looking forward to the full release. So far youve had our office in fit of laughter and the most piercing shriek ive ever heard from the temp girl when she got attacked. Made my day :P Good Work. Gollum1 0 Posted September 16, 2005 Wow, I am really pleasantly surprised! When people make these kind of "special" mods with non-humanoids the animations often look cheesy and stupid, but the dinos in this mod actually look and move great. You really panic when you're being chased by a big Albertosaurus. The island looks very lush too, I like the bright green colour of the vegetation. I could feel lots of mission making potential when just fooling around in the editor. Great work on this beta, I will be sure to DL future versions.

"That's how it starts, with a lot of 'oohs and aaahs'. But later there's screaming and running".. To paraphrase Malcolm, JP 2. Good job, guys.

kevb0 0 Posted September 16, 2005 Sweet work, guys. Does this work online? If so could someone make a coop mission or two? I can't wait to shoot some dinosaurs with my friends.
DBR_ONIX 0 Posted September 16, 2005 Not sure if this is the same beta, but the one I downloaded (of your site) only worked when I renamed the dta and bin folders to something else, otherwise it crashed when OFP got as far as the intro Probobaly another addon messing with it, but as far as I can see, none are running I'll try it again later, though But, from what I seen of the mod, it looks really nice Good work - Ben
GoosemanXP 0 Posted September 16, 2005 Great work !, the dinosaurs looks pretty good to me, but please release some playable missions too
ebud 18 Posted September 16, 2005 This is the most fun I've had with OFP for quite a while. Nice job.
MilitiaSniper 0 Posted September 16, 2005 I may do a NEW, "Big Game Hunt" mission with this little mod! I downloaded it for my 6 yr. old son. We both been enjoying this! Sincerely, MilitiaSniper
hellfish6 7 Posted September 16, 2005 I really, really, really like the island. It's the most creative island I've seen in OFP since FDF's Maldevic and BAS's Tonal. Great job.
Sepe 1 Posted September 16, 2005 Hmm wonder what Viktor would say if I'd put.. say, 60 of the big predators on Nogova? I'm not sure if the resistance could handle 'em that easily... Great work! Driving away from a dino rocks! But... I can't kill six dinos with one S&W cylinder.. Boohoo, back to CWMOD then. Or maybe I could "customise" my old good six-shooter by say... Adding ten zeros to the damage part? Ha ha, one BIS infantry squad had a whole lot of trouble with a "squad" of dinos.. Poor boys, they just joined the army to see some world... kavoven 4 Posted September 16, 2005 Just one single word: Excellent I am so amazed.... great work guys, great work I was really flipping around, when the first dino looked at me and ran in my direction.... I don't remember when I was shocked in OFP the last time, but it has to be far far in the past ^^ *wants more *
ProfTournesol 956 Posted September 17, 2005 Models, textures and anims are just GREAT !! I specially appreciate "micro" dinos, that i didn't notice the first time i put them on the map... Keep up the good work !
Baphomet 0 Posted September 17, 2005 First I must say, that the spirit of Trespasser certainly lives on in your mod. The detail of certain areas has that same immersiveness as did the original game, which is great. There is almost too much vegetation in some areas as while in most parts it's just fine, in some it starts causing what I'd consider unenjoyable amounts of lag, however that's subject to your opinion of what amount annoys you. I don't have much tolerance for it. Despite that. I really enjoyed wandering through certain areas, it really took me back. The level of detail on the terrain itself and proximity of vegetation (despite some lag) was immersive. I notice in one of your example missions, you simulated a trespasser-type puzzle. Heh. That was cool to see. Including the inq weaponpack was kind odd, and your island at it's laggiest points served as a watermark to determine how much system drain those addons cause, (unnecessarily I personally think). Since using them meant the difference between a huge amount of stuttering, and brief hiccups in performance. Also, while your dinosaurs are showing promise, the sound department is lacking a little. I especially think the carnivores need a little improvement, sound wise that is. I remember the bone-chilling screams and roars of the T-rex and the albertosaurus in Trespasser always got me, and they still do to this day. I'd be happy to supply sounds from a certain "game" that would fit right in with your mod, to improve the dino sounds, if you can't find any better sounds otherwise. Just drop me a line if you're interested.
iguanapl 0 Posted September 17, 2005 You like trespasser spirit?.Look here I've made some locations from this game on this island
xnodunitx 0 Posted September 18, 2005 Whoa this is excellent,I love it,it reminds me alot of playing the first snes JP game (the one where your always first person...inside buildings anyway) oh I was wondering,in the future will you have missions that include music and will you make structures and such?- wooops sorry, didnt look in the "empty" slot,my apologies, hey wasn't there an Ingen chinook? I can't seem to find it...
Baphomet 0 Posted September 18, 2005 That's just what I was going to suggest Iguanapl. I can't believe someone actually beat me to it. I thought I was the only one who liked that game.
