Jackal326 1179 Posted February 20, 2006 ...Any chance for a Socom with a laser pointer like metal gear solid style? Â Did you not look at the picture? Its GOT ONE Although, if you meant with an actual laser attached, then no, I wont be adding one. There are several reasons, but mainly because it'll clip through walls and look crap. Sniperwolf572 758 Posted February 20, 2006 I think that could've been asked by PM. Anyways, awesome update Jackal, since we're using them extensively, any other "brand" besides SJB, for me, is out of the question. Sexcellent SOCOM, can't wait to get my hands on it. Blackbuck 9 Posted February 28, 2006 are "3d" optics being used like the ones in FFUR?
Jackal326 1179 Posted February 28, 2006 If by 3D you mean an actual view from the rear of the rifle, no, as they're not supported by the game engine - they end up really "distorted". If however you mean a single texture of a shot from the rear of the weapon, then yes, Benus has been supplying me with the textures he has been making for FFUR, and I plan to incorporate them where possible. Landwarrior87 0 Posted March 1, 2006 nice jackal.... just like the other guy said any other brand than SJB is out the question for me 2.
CameronMcDonald 146 Posted March 1, 2006 SJB's rifles + LSR's AT weapons... a marriage made in heaven.
Big Dawg KS 6 Posted March 1, 2006 I think that could've been asked by PM. Anyways, awesome update Jackal, since we're using them extensively, any other "brand" besides SJB, for me, is out of the question. Sexcellent SOCOM, can't wait to get my hands on it.  Maybe you should ask for a pair of mittens with SJB insignia.  There are some things in life that you shouldn't ignore (that sounds pretty ironic coming from me), like this one little box in o2 that I never considered using, this stupid check box that could have saved me so much time from the mindless repetative task of rotating and moving weapons, LOD by LOD until I just couldn't take it anymore!   Oh but joyous news Jackal... yes Jackal, aside from the fact that I like saying the word jackal, Jackal, I think now I can cut the time for converting the weapons for 2ndrifleism (<- this is my word, I made it up, thats right, even the English language is no match for me) down to 1/4 that of my previously estimated time (so, ~1 min per weapon, in theory not actualality), sadly however, this won't make it any less head-smashingly boring.  Jackal! P.S. I just love this  emoticon, such a hilarious perception of inertia...
Jackal326 1179 Posted March 8, 2006 I'll keep that in mind Kyle when I begin making the pack 2nd-rifle-compatible - which wont be until each of the models is finalised. On another note, I've re-edited the M4A1 series of textures, and have managed to erradicate the "outline" issue I had. For those of you I didn't inform about this, somehow during the re-editing of the textures to make them gun-metal grey, the textures got slightly rescale (only a matter of 4 or 5 pixels), but this was enough to throw the texture mapping off and cause some areas to exhibit blatantly obvious mis-mappings which it took me a month to notice - I got so used to looking at the models, I missed the blatantly obvious error Anyway, thats all fixed now. I also since re-done the HK416 textures based on these new and updated textures. I've also been sent a kick-ass M203 model, originally made by Twinke, so all credit to him. I'll hopefully be posting some shots of the updated M203, as well as of the tweaked M4A1 textures, when-ever I get time to actually take some screenshots of them ingame/in Buldozer. Sniperwolf572 758 Posted March 8, 2006 Maybe you should ask for a pair of mittens with SJB insignia. I already have a pair. They also sell the "blood stained" and "brass knuckles" ones but I was feeling warm and cuddly and bought those.
Jackal326 1179 Posted March 9, 2006 Damn it! I thought you wanted KITTENS! Anyway, in a bid to keep this on topic and prevent any locking, I will be uploading the screenshots of the M203 and updated M4 textures tomorrow afternoon/evening if all goes to plan. Itseme 0 Posted March 10, 2006 Well ilike this pack more and espspecially the sounds. i played with them a lot in the editor, and i found some zeroing issues. Mostly with the M16 Eotech, the LR300 Eotech and the M240 Ironsights. With Eotech i think the shots lie a little bit over the target and the Ironsight with the M240 the shots lie under the zero point. Also the recoil of the M240 seems to be too less, even the M249 recoil is more. Makes it kind of Ãœberweapon. Well i don't know if this has been reported before, so... Keep up the good work anyway. -HUNTER- 1 Posted March 11, 2006 Jackal could you maybee post some shots of the M16 please!
Jackal326 1179 Posted March 11, 2006 OK, I just uploaded a .ZIP file containing a few hi-res (1280x1024 screenshots of the M16A2 (irongsights and aimpoint variations) in action, in the hands of the Operation Frenchpoint units (which I've fallen in love with again). The file is 2.33MB and can be downloaded HERE for all those who are interested. The model/textures are 99% done, with only a few very minor tweaks still remaining. j w 0 Posted March 11, 2006 Wow! Too bad the square fingers of BIS Model gets in the way of the beautiful M16. Great work (as usual )

Jackal326 1179 Posted March 11, 2006 I'll post some shots of the FAMAS F1/G2s when I get them ingame - will give me another excuse to use the OFrP units I've also included a version of each with an ACOG optic, and may well include other versions depending upon time constraints, I'm already 8 months behind scheduel. I have no idea if OFrP will be using these weapons in any future versions of their packs, thats for them to decide.
Jackal326 1179 Posted March 12, 2006 I FINALLY got around to coding the HK-416s today, and have checked them out ingame, they're looking mighty-fine. I'll post some ingame shots of them sometime tomorrow, running short on time at present, just figured I'd let you know. Also tomorrow, I hope to code the FAMAS versions, so hopefully expect some ingame shots of those too
Jackal326 1179 Posted March 13, 2006 OK, I got a couple of ingame shots. They're from VBS1, but they still give the general ingame feel of the HK416s. Haven't got around to coding the FAMAS Variations yet, but I'll hopefully have them done soon. Anyway, CLICK HERE or CLICK HERE for a couple of quick shots I took of the Marksman HK416 with ELCAN HI-MAG optic, Harris Bipod, and long barrel.
j w 0 Posted March 13, 2006 I suspect those pictures are taken in VBS... Great work (as usual )
