Jackal326 1182 Posted April 30, 2006 Or, how about you both shut the hell up, and take this shit out of my thread. I'm sick of people trying to jack this thread, sick of people posting useless bollocks that has f-all to do with the pack. It ends now, or I'll have this thread locked until release. BlackScorpion 0 Posted April 30, 2006 Sounds fair to me. So... I've gathered a small list of what we'll get in 2.0. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, or if it comes to Jackal, you might aswell keep on working. -updated M16's and M4's, with separate Aimpoint optics for M4's? -many versions of HK416 -2 or 3 guns from the old but venerable DMS pack, remade -M21 Camo suppressed -WA2000 in 2 (?) versions -FAMAS in few versions -SL8, a civilian sporting version of G36 (militarized for the pack?) -M24A2 -M40 -"fixed" pistols, to avoid the slide back-thing -new shotgun script atleast, dunno about new weapons themselves It's propably missed something, but... P.S. that G3 image posted on page 74 was posted earlier, too, but it was last October so... Godspeed.

echo1 0 Posted April 30, 2006 * jackal have you thought about who to mirror from? I dont he'd have problem finding one Plus theres also been mentioned at various points: L96 FAL Para Minimi with 10x Elcan (I think) possible variations on pre-existing designs
cornhelium 0 Posted April 30, 2006 Great to hear the DMS rifles are gonna be in this pack. I still edit those into the description.ext any mission I tinker with. Something very satisfying about a takedown with a well-aimed "varmint" round. Cheers, CH
Jackal326 1182 Posted April 30, 2006 For now, the WA2000 will only come non-supressed, I wasn't satisfied with how the suppressed version turned out, and as such have decided to leave it out of the pack. Anyway, here is the "official" list of new additions/features. * Overhauled models/textures: Almost every model within the pack has been tweaked, with the most noticable changes being made to the M4A1 textures (now they're gun-metal grey and not coal-mine black) and the M16A2/A4 models. Other models have received lesser tweaks. * Tweaked config values - damage values, recoil strengths, initspeeds and detection values tweaked to be more balanced. Also planned (and not yet implemented) is the inclusion of the dexterity values to better simulate the handling of each weapon (dependant upon each weapon's weight, size etc), * New, realisitc optic models: New optics, with great thanks to Benus for allowing me to use not only the optics he made for the FFUR mods, but also some exclusive textures he made just for the SJB Pack. * Many new weapons including - FAMAS F1/G2 rifles with various optics and (un)suppressed versions, - WA2000 (as explained above, only in non-suppressed version for now), - HK416 rifles in a plethora of variations, including suppressed versions, - FN-MAG - nothing spectacular, just a slight retexture of the M240 with a few model tweaks (rail removed, flash-hider extended etc), - New versions of M249/M240 with the Elcan Hi-Mag optic mounted on them, - M24A2 as well as a suppressed version, both including accurately modelled M.A.R.S. (Modular Accessory Rail System), - M21 suppressed (with camo apint-scheme), - M40, - Designated Marksman System (DMS) Rifles (M16A2, M16A4, and hopefully a CAR-15 version if I get time), - SL8 (the military version), also planned is the SL8-1 (civilian version), but that wont make it until v2.1 at least). Comes with a few optic variations, - JAM Compatible pistols, which don't continually have the slide locked-back, as happens now when you use JAM magazines with the pistols with the current versions' pistols, * New shotgun script courtesy of Kyle Sarnik, * Maybe a few extra additions if I get time. I've probably forgotten some things too, as v2.0 has been in the making for a long time, so sue me.
Blackbuck 9 Posted April 30, 2006 I'm Impressed Mate Thats A Lot To Play With When The Time Comes That Is Great To See That Benus Has Made Some Of His Top Class Optics For Us All Something very satisfying about a takedown with a well-aimed "varmint" round. i know what you mean been "slotting tangos" with jackals scoped Lr300 while playing as OPFOR quite satisfying isnt it to see someones head explode... cornhelium check your pm i would like a word Again thanks for making me keep on playing OFP jackal and thanks to benus for the new optics for me to stare at waiting for a kill... Navy Seals 0 Posted April 30, 2006 Great news Jackal, makes my Sunday evening alot better Did you also made a L115A1? Didnt really followed the news about the L96 so forgive if it's a question asked 20x before.
Mamba Six 11 Posted April 30, 2006 Oooh, and I didn't realize the HK416s were in there! Ah, can't wait! I must say, though, I'm going to kind of miss the coal-black rifles. They were sort of the distingushing mark between SJB and others. Change is good though, right?
echo1 0 Posted April 30, 2006 Change is good though, right? Quite definatly, the old black textures looked really lifeless and unrealistic, but yet still better than alot of the M4s that have been made
Jackal326 1182 Posted April 30, 2006 @Navy SEALS: One was planned, but it has been dropped, for similar reasons to the G3s (model inaccuracies it would take too long to fix). As such, its been bumped back to the v2.1+ version of the pack. I figured you guys would prefer realism to "dark rifles you can't really call "accurately done". That and I got torn a new one by everyone saying "Nice pack, but the M4s/M16s are way too dark!" Damned if I do, damned if I don't it seems.

Mamba Six 11 Posted May 1, 2006 Quote[/b] ]Damned if I do, damned if I don't it seems. Hey mate, it happens Im actually looking forward to the gun metal grey. Realistic is better than not in my book. I was just commenting that whenever I saw those coal-black weapons, it triggered a "Hey, those are Jackals!" Keep 'em coming mate
Blackbuck 9 Posted May 1, 2006 jackal has a big reputation so it really doesnt matter good luck jackal
Shashman 0 Posted May 1, 2006 Jackal (or anyone else for that matter) could you post a picture of a G3 with a picture of your G3 so that they can be compared, because I can't see anything wrong with the one you've made but have decided to withdraw from the pack? It's a shame, because there's still a HUGE amount of armies which still use the G3 as their main AR and it's a good OPFOR weapons
echo1 0 Posted May 1, 2006 Looking at the model, its very close, but just some of the proportion and sizing looks a bit odd (especially the magazine), and the pistol grip is a bit strange
Shashman 0 Posted May 1, 2006 Looking at the model, its very close, but just some of the proportion and sizing looks a bit odd (especially the magazine), and the pistol grip is a bit strange The grip is "a bit strange"? The grip is in the soldier's hand... it doesn't matter Sounds like minor flaws to me, not reason enough to exclude it from the pack As I said, the G3 is widely used and very good OPFOR kit
AKM 0 Posted May 2, 2006 I'd say it's more of the former - proportions and scaling, with especial attention to the magazine - than the latter (Pistol grip) that's preventing release.
Jackal326 1182 Posted May 2, 2006 I'd say it's more of the former - proportions and scaling, with especial attention to the magazine - than the latter (Pistol grip) that's preventing release. ...and you'd be correct in that assumption. Fact of the matter is, the small inaccuracies are too numerous to mention, but the fact is, they will be noticed, and as such, I'm not willing to include a half-arsed version. If its gonna be done, its gonna be done right. Half of the problem stems from me editing the PSG1 model to get the G3 model.
Blackbuck 9 Posted May 2, 2006 PSG1 only uses the same mechanism lol
Cpt. FrostBite 0 Posted May 2, 2006 Indeed the model is not even close to a G3 (no offence) and would require a lot of work to make it look like one. Editing the PSG1 model is a good start, but the handguard, pistolgrip, buttstock, sights and barrel all need to be changed. The picture posted a few pages back, shows a model that still needs a LOT of work. I think the decission to drop the model for V2.0 of the pack is very understandable and I would not ask Jackel to reconsider (knowing first hand how much work eventually goes into so called 'small adjustments' In the mean time I suggest using NORFOR's G3's which are currently the best out there. j w 0 Posted May 2, 2006 Are your weapons barrels in scale? Just curious... Keep the good work up, can't wait for new version! Regards JW
