All vehicles will be armed with a machine gun however we still have to decide upon the weapon

Anything but them, in my opinion. AKs, M16s, or G3s is the way to go for these soldiers. They have a lot of leftovers from the Soviets, and it's only natural that the Americans would supply them with weapons, and finally, as far as the G3 goes, it's only logical that they would try to buy some weapons themselves.

For a machine gun, I think either a .30 cal or an M60 would go good

Failing that, a Bren would be original.

Yes, Finnland is only part of the EU not of the NATO.

I think some older german stuff, like G3s or MG3s would be nice. The MG3 is still one of the best machineguns and germany sold it to many countrys like Yugoslavia, Iran and Pakistan.

I think the MG3 would fit best because AFAIK is'nt this vehicle produced in Germany. So they could supply the weapon at a discount

I dont disagree with the MG3 but I dont think they are going with that as a MG for the troops so I'd be suprised to see it on the vehicle.

Where do you get the idea of using an M16 from anyways when its a discussion about what HMG to put on a vehicle.

A bren and a mg3 would be The machineguns for EDF IMO.

Also, i think fn fal would be better as main armament for these blokes.

FNC for regular troops, HK53 for spec ops, MAG for MGunners and G3/SG1 for snipers. Browning HP for sidearm.

Seeing as one of the three most available (and useful) cartridges in the world is the 7.62 round, I suggest giving the EDF the FN FAL Self-Loading Rifle (means they won't be wasting ammo so quick, as well as being a perfectly practical weapon) and the L4 Light Machine Gun (the 7.62 "Bren").  I'd also recommend a 7.62 HMG, but there seem to be people with better thoughts in that area than I.  Personally I'd go for a Vickers, but those truly are dinosaurs.
