gavinthecat 0 Posted November 20, 2005 Well Bigus sure, the map for the house divided mod is a mod map specific for its campaign, and its tied to different pbos in the mod folder, so basically these are objects for the mod itself. but if other mods or individual artists wanted to use them, they'd be welcome to talk to us etc We're not so concerned about portability cos the mod itself will be a one big download file executable, and naturally if you use the game graphics you do save file size, but at the obvious expense of new artwork, graphics and models and well originality, which is very important for our mod. Naturally though, a lot of the cwmod maps you guys have over there, are battlefields, which pretty much are 'fields, tracks' and the odd farm or river etc, so perhaps bis stuff is more appropriate Anyway im waffling on lol

harley 3 1185 0 Posted November 24, 2005 Seriously, if Palmerston (who has a whole political school of thought named after him) had been Prime Minister instead of Russell we would have helped y'all fight for independence. Instead, Palmerston was kicked around and made inaccessible when the Yankees seized that British ship with the Confederate Commissioners... Not that I ascribe to slavery, but a British-advised end to servitude might have succeeded instead of the screw-up during "Reconstruction", which hurt a damn site more than it helped. I'll make a campaign where the Confederates and British march from Richmond and Montreal and conveniently force the U.S. army into a pocket around a place called Yorktown. . harley 3 1185 0 Posted November 26, 2005 Of course, should there be support for such a campaign amongst the masses, I'm sure something can be worked out to the benefit of all. There's nothing wrong with a little bit of Historical revisionism, a la Harry Turtledove!
JdB 151 Posted November 29, 2005 Ok, i've been doing work on a fort. I've made some changes to the typical design to make it more interesting gameplay wise. Of course it has good lods, so the insane amount of detail in these 1st LOD models will not hurt your performance one bit (verticecount drops from 9.600 to 700 between the 1st and 2nd resolution lod). The ''textures'' are temporary until Gavin is finished with his school stuff. Some changes have been made in the interiour. Also, if you are wondering why there are ramps instead of ladders in the fort: that is because getting up a ladder in OFP takes long enough to make no one want to go up in such an exposed position (above mentioned gameplay issues). Also there are a few more positions to shoot from to make you never feel safe whether inside or outside the fort Edit: also some changes have been made to the interiour of the fort since that render. JdB 151 Posted November 29, 2005 Another pic: We are also looking for talented addonmakers (2D, 3D & scripting) to join our ranks (I know, every mod is ). So if you are interested (and able) to help us, send a PM to me or Gavin(thecat)
harley 3 1185 0 Posted November 30, 2005 I didn't know you were camp, Gavin . Â Oh, I'm sorry. Â Just couldn't resist that one. Aha. Ah. Nice fort colour Lt. Â Looks ready for the frontier already (just get rid of that name! ). And may you be swamped with requests to make addons for the mod!
