I was reading those articles from 2005 and they were mentioning game 2 and how they would get it out no matter what, even if they changed the name. (Like to ArmA)

Also, On IGN.com, that Game2 article is listed under "Armed Assault: Combat Operations"

Whats going on?! And then on top of that, Codemasters recently released news that they were developing OFP2, despite what the article says

From what ive read it wont be the average RPG with stats and crap though. Just imagine an updated ArmA with a completely populated island with an ongoing dynamic war where were you can talk with people and have dynamically generated objectives.

I personally love the concept.

EDIT: Though all information is from 2005, we currently have no idea if they changed this idea or not.

You forgot about new NextGen engine with all latest technology, physics engine and a lot bigger islands (more like continent). RPG elements, NPC interaction, multiplayer battles of mass scale etc.

I wish you people would stop pulling facts strait out of your ass about this game... nothing you said there other then the fact that the game will have "RPG elements" is anything near a confirmed fact... And in fact the engine for Game2 is very likely going to be new.

Game2 will LIKELY be totally diffrent then Armed Assault, with a new engine (or at least a much more advanced version of the current one). Ifs going to have several features that ArmA is missing, such as everything being able to be dynamicly destroyed. Try searching for, and reading the old news articles about Game2... and then remember that they were all writen years ago, meaning Game2 is likely well more advanced then is stated in them.

wow you are allowed to speculate but i cannot ?

Thats a lot of likely for one so read up and full of facts .

The truth is i do search and my speculation is based on what limited info there is about game2 , you see armed assault went through a massive revamp when it was just months into its realisation and many game2 elements where applied to it ,it is therefore my "Out right Guess " that Bis will use the same arma engine and not develop a totally new one for game 2.

N.B like every other post this is pure speculation i hope some get it even though it is eveident that at least one dose not.

p.s to afford does not always mean money.it can also mean to release a brand new engine such as arma would inevitably bring the wrth of "i am paying to beta test " all over again and in my opinion however nesseccary it was for bis to do with arma ,they cant afford to do it again with game2 or there reputation will suffer .
