The LRAC (which addo to weapon pack) is more used than AT4 ABL84mm, or Eryx.

We can hope the AMX30B2, GBC truck and VLRA (by Epervier, no OFrP) soon (1 years maybe lol)...

Very impressive, we wait long time yesterday on the forum, and we don't regret to wait so long time....

Kickass as usual!

However I am still a bit concerned about the FAMAS sound...

I may never have fired one in real life but I cannot imagine it sounds that weak? wow_o.gif

Other than that it´s all pure awesomeness!

Okay, indeed very nice addon. Good job on the textures!

Here's a small bug report:

1. Leclerc engine sound is a way to quiet

2. AMX 10 RC engine sound sounds a bit weird, it's just repeated every few seconds.

3. You should translate all the action commands etc to English, not everyone is a native French speaker.

4. Some moe equal names for the ammunition, I really don't know what's OPF1, OE or something like this is. Maybe just add some sort of "HE" or "AP".

That's all I've found so far.

OFL = Obus FLeche = APFSDS

OCC = Obus Charge Creuse (?) = HEAT

OE = Obus Explosif = HE

OP = Obus Perforant = APDS-T

OECC = Obus Explosif Charge Creuse (?) = HEAT-MP

F1, F2 are the differents versions

Overall this pack is just fantastic. However....

I am a little disappointed that the AMX-10RC was made into a tank class rather then kept as a car class. Yes it doesn't give as many options as a tank class, however it just looks really wierd seeingthe AMX-10RC moving around like a tank. So I probably won't be using that particular vehicle in missions simply because it looks very unrealistic moving around like that. However I really love the AMX-10 and the Leclerc is fantastic. Finally I can put French forces in my missions into mechanised task forces. The only other thing I'd like to see is these vehicles and troops in desert cammo for Middle East missions.

But other then that, excellent job OFrP. This was a great long awaited release.

10 rc is realistic : wheels not for direction, it's wheels, but work like tanks for turn...

Really??? The front wheels don't turn???  I've never seen a wheeled APC like that, but then again, this is how a bobcat construction vehicle works.  It's called skid steering.  Ah... ok...after a little bit of research I see indeed that you are correct.  My apologies... I guess this does move like a tank in real life.  Very interesting!

For desert op, there's some desert infantry in the pack. Most certainly they'll be updated with more realistic pattern and colours in a future version but still.

For the desert vehicles, all we have so far is the ability to use a thermal camo blanket on the Leclerc (read the readme, hidden selection 6 if i am not mistaken).

zeus_afg4c.jpg

this is a test version i have made for desert infantry reskin. Not representative of what they will actually be, but more a pattern and colour test (hand-made draft textures here). Nevertheless if we should change the textures one day the compatibility with current desert infantry in our pack would be kept.

AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!! NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YOU REMOVED MY FAVORITE UNIT!!!!!!!!!! The Legionnaire Commando (Desert) with the goggles!!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

WHY?rock.gif?rock.gif That sucks hardcore.

This is the old unit I'm talking about:

French_Legion_Commandos1.jpg

I am VERY disappointed that you guys removed these excellent Foreign Legion Commandos. The new guys you replaced them with just have a ski mask and boonie hat on them... not as scary looking as the old guys who looked scarier and more intimidating.

There is the IMEX commando unit that looks similar but not as good.

I hope you guys will re-introduce the old FFL Commando (desert) in the next update if thats possible.

Quote[/b] ]The vehicle has similar cross-country performance to that of a tracked vehicle. The transmission and suspension are integrated inside the hull to prevent damage. The skid steering allows for on-the-spot-turning. The pressure in the tyres can be adapted on the move to suit ground conditions. The vehicle can continue with total or partial destruction of one or two of the six tyres.

The 10RC has many common points with the 10P : same automotive components, aluminium armor,...

The AMX-10RC, unless making a mistake needing to be corrected, is the sole wheeled AFV with a tank level mobility. With its ajustable height suspension components, the crew can modify the AFV banking, in order to get in the best balanced firing position on slopes.

Its basic Aluminium armor protects it against all machineguns (probably from a certain distance against the heaviest MGs like the 14.5mm KPVT). The armor protection level have been increased since with small space armor, loosing simultaneously its amphibious capability.

Its detection capabilities were also improved when replacing the DVT-13 light intensifier camera with the DIVT-16 thermal camera.

However, its low recoil 105mm F2 gun has not the power of the F1 (AMX-30) or M68 L7 (remember the AGS' stability problem when firing its L7 gun). As the 10RC, and its computerized firing control, was developped for firing HEAT as main ammunition, its APFSDS round was less developped, as it use the same penetrator as ERC-90's 90mm APFSDS round, for just an initial velocity increase of 50m/s. Nevertheless, those rounds are powerfull enough to blow 1st generation tanks, like Leopard1, T-55, T-62 (not up-armored models).

Moreover, the 10Rc has no gun stabilization system, penalizing it for fire-on-the-move.

It is not a Main Battle Tank. Using it as such, in OFP and in reality will kill you faster. The AMX-10RC is a recon AFV, or a Heavy Weapon Vehicle .

Fairly modern when starting duty, the 10RC can be considered outmoded when compared to more recent wheeled HW AFVs like the italian Centauro.

Anecdotically, during the Conventionnal Weapon Control negociations in Vienna, the Soviet Union demand that the 10RC should be considered as a MBT  tounge_o.gif

Ah ok!  (Whew).  That is good news because I LOVED that particular model.  But as long as you will use it in future updates I will be very happy.  smile_o.gif

Right now I am having alot of fun with the new units.

The only other critique I can give is that the AMX-10RC is a little bit too armored.  It survived a hit from a T-55.  These shouldn't be very heavily armored.  They would be lucky to survive one hit by an RPG in real life.  The same goes for the regular AMX-10 unless you made an uparmored AMX-10 with applique armor similar to that used by British Warrior IFV's and American Bradley IFV's in Iraq

Also I agree with what someone else posted about the engine sound.  The sound is good, but it has a looping or sample problem where it goes up and down in pitch which I agree is annoying.  I also agree that the LeClerc could use a little bit louder engine sound.   One other thing I would recommend for a future airpack update is the inclusion of laser guided bombs because I noticed that their is a soldier with a laser designator...but that none of the aircraft have laser guided weapons.   Another recommendation is a cargo aircraft of some type for the French Airborne forces to parachute from.

But other then those observations, I am really loving these addons.   I am making a mission right now on Freya that I am having alot of fun with. The AMX-10RC's did very well against BIS T-55's that I have fighting on the East side supporting the WYW OPFOR addon units. These are acting as Rebel forces on Freya who have taken over the government. Its up to the French government to restore the French-friendly government into power on Freya. But the rebels are determined and have put explosives on the bridges and have set up ambushes to destroy the French forces. Later missions will include Helicopter assaults to get behind rebel positions and attack their headquarters in daring raids to capture or kill their leaders.

Due to heavy RPG presence as well as many captured T-55 and BMP-1's, light French armor can't be used extensively until the LeClercs are brought in by sea. So LeClercs will enter into later missions in the final assaults and for break-thru missions.

The AMX-10RC is absolutly adapted to fight T-55 and BMP, as many 10RC are currently operating in Africa. If you meet a T-72 or stronger, then .... run for your life  biggrin_o.gif

I'll add one thing, which needed many hours from Flo_Wer and Bip-Bip :

For players who like to play as tank gunners but weeps as they is no mean to aim targets at long range, the current gunner sights of the Leclerc and the AMX-10RC are fully usable in OFP. Once you know the distance to the target, just apply the needed elevation shown on the sight.

You can now kill target at 2000 meters with a great one shot one hit probability.

So, against stationnary targets, it's rather... BULLEYES  wink_o.gif

SPQR-S01.jpg

Le tank commander detect a BMP at 1786 m.

SPQR-S02.jpg

The gunner can confirm range, and give the gun the needed elevation angle, while at maximum zoom.

SPQR-S03.jpg

In order to shoot an OFL APFSDS shell, the gunner brings the 18 back sight adjuster into alignement with the targeted BMP.

SPQR-S04.jpg

FIRE.... HIT !

for this demonstration, soviet troopers were neither wounded or bad-treated. The BMP-1 was empty. biggrin_o.gif

The shot only need one unique OFL 105 F3 shell.

For clarification on SPQR post :

on the screenshots, check the column of markers just right of the reticle (the serie or markers just above the "OFL" text). Each mark s 200m. "10" is 1000, "20" is 2000, etc...

Just align the marker of the corresponding distance.

"OFL" is abviously the ammunition used smile_o.gif

The circles must have some signification, like differential speed markers, but we need specialists .... SPQR, help! smile_o.gif

Oh yeah, no doubt the AMX-10RC can destroy T-55's easily, however in real life, a T-55 100mm HEAT or SABOT round would easily destroy a AMX-10RC. The LeClerc on the other hand could almost certainly withstand hits from a T-55's 100mm HEAT or SABOT rounds to its frontal armor. So to reduce casualties, in OFP, the LeClerc is much better against infantry with many RPG's supported by T-55/BMPs. However I like driving the AMX-10RC at high speed to do recon work and see what shoots at me. If I'm driving fast, the T-55's usually miss me. But if I stop to shoot I usually get hit. However in OFP, your AMX-10's take two hits from a T-55 to be destroyed which is not very realistic.

Tank cannon/RPG----> thin alunimum armored IFV = BOOM!

So hopefully that will be adjusted so that it is a bit lower.
