its in your Y2K3\ mod folder... just go to folder options and show hidden objects  smile_o.gif

the icon... this is where its at

well the icon was suppose to be maped to the install path, however that theory did not pan out to be correct. i didnt want to clutter up the users mod folder with other files that really didnt need to be there.. so i made the object hidden.

I got all the addons from Y2K3\Addons in my Res\Addons folder too.

Can I copy the Addons from Y2K3\Addons to Res\Addons and overwrite the older files, or did you use customized addons that will give errors when used in Res\Addons.

Btw. my Res\Addons folder contains more than 4 gigabyte of addons, and this is the main reason for my question. wink_o.gif

there was a few that i modified. the bas_mah60 for example, i modified the ECM script. umm what else.. uhh wipmans colt 45 i changed the sound (yet again) plus this is an older version then his "latest release" in which he changed the danged config names...

and theres several others. most of the other addons are super compressed to save download and install size. dispite popular belief the only performance hit form compressed addons is at the loading mission. where it may take 5 to 10 seconds longer to load that mission. once loaded there is no actual lag within it from compressed addons. so that would help you out too.

basicly i cant give you a list of addons i modified due to im not sure which ones i did and didnt change.. but i can tell you the modified addons are still 100% compatable with missions that previously used them. so you have nothing to worry about there.  smile_o.gif

edit: so just "yes to all" when it asks to overwrite

Hi Papy, I have installed the full installer but the NV goggles look like the originals from the game. When will there be a mod to replace the goggles to single lense like what the USA military are using now?

replace the NVgogles... made them more clear and every thing...

check the Y2K3 site.. the model themselves are changed...

but you need the "skypack and more" download to replace the wrist watch, NVG veiw, skys, and night sky smile_o.gif just download it. install it to your Y2K3 folder and when te installer is done press finish.. it will run a second installer.. and all u gotta do is go play when its done  biggrin_o.gif

edit: i couldnt include prepacked data and data3d files since their uniqe to your system... so basicly you cant use my data.pbo cuz its differnt from yours. dont ask why proly jsut antoehr paranoid anti theft protecort BIS did. anyway just download the skypack and more and ur good to go myfreind

just a small observation ive made....

the past few days ive been hooked on the SEB nam stuff... for personal use ive updated the SEB armor pack with an LVTP7, T34, type 76, all that stuff smile_o.gif and swaped out some of the guns for INQ ones.. very nice now...

but anyway... i noticed that SEB doesnt have custom eventhandlers.... which means Y2K3 stuff carries down to it. which means explosions, chopper dust, tracer rounds, blood, all that cool shit carries down to SEB and its really quite enjoyable...

just thought id tell you all smile_o.gif

The same thing happens for FFUR tounge_o.gif

so the sebnam pack used with FFUR will of course have FFUR explosions , effects , smoke , etc etc too smile_o.gif

Logical if the class eventhandlers in the config would be assigned for main classes like (class man:land , class tank:landvehicle , class apc:landvehicle...etc ). and the sebnam pack don't use any class eventhandlers wink_o.gif

I'd just like to say you've done a real good job making this conversion pack, it's really appreciated! thumbs-up.gif

(Plus my PC can run  it! rofl.gif )

EDIT: One little thing thing: I preferred the Background desert island anim and bigger background window on the last version to v1.7 - but it's no biggy  smile_o.gif

thanks for bringing it to my attention. im looking into it now, but i ofer no promises.

edit: ive looked into it.. and i want to wait until the bugs are fixed in it and it be randomized. right now it explodes every time.

however if the project turns out nicely then ill go ahead and and introduce it in the next quick-patch with the full set of leaning and roling animations whenever they are.

Afaik this only works with Bis tanks, not your replacement tanks.

Above that: in multiplayer it would be funny when you can hide behind a turret invisible to others...

Oh, also.. like the exploding bodies, I think it'l lag for a short moment every time it's done... and let's not forget that tanks are built to last, right? can't you make some bigger chunks fall off instead? crazy_o.gif

Something on my wishlist is a enhanced deathcam, FDF quality, if I may call it that tounge2.gif .

anyway its not writen in stone. i am exploring the lag issues as well.

but the script does work with the replacment tanks.. the dammaged vehicle is replaced with a dammaged BIS vehicle thou... but when its all fucked up like that (dead armor) it really doesnt matter.

after i give it some serious thought and serious testing.. if i decided agasint it officaly ill just post how to do it yourself smile_o.gif

can you relese an updated sebnam pack with updated soldier and weapon models. I tried but the cong is far too different from the bis config and it makes it difficult to determine what I need to change. Also how do you add things to a config without getting errors.

the soldier models arent changed just a few weapons.

right now im on my laptop later ill upload that for you and PM you a link. the effects and all that carry down with no config modding required

Hi Pappy... saw your speedboats... cool...

Also saw this...

Big Zodiac "Fast Attack Boat"

And remembered you saying a while back that there wasn't really a good Special Forces attack Zodiac... Sadly, this one seems to suffer heavily from stability problems, but you obviously know about boats in OFP... have you checked that one out yet???

Anyway... the real point of my post is that I've been playing a stack of missions for Thunderbirds FFUR beta-testing and I thought I'd try the same stack of missions in Y2K3, since a quite extensively customised Y2K3 is my "personal" flashpoint setup... but I had a problem with 3 missions in a row simply because I was supposed to rescue hostages/downed pilots/captured comrades but I couldn't lead them to safety/evac chopper/boat because in your latest version you no longer have the "join player" action!

I want it baaaaaaaaaack! crazy_o.gif

Can you give me a rough idea of where to look in the config... I'll compare that/those section(s) with an old Y2K3 config... (got LOTS of them... tounge2.gif ) and I bet I can do it myself... I just need a hint or two where to start...

first off.. those zoiacs arent mine! why does everyone keep giving me credit for those?? thier dobs. anything i make.. i release in a topic created by me......

second off the join player action was removed due to a lag issue (more init scripts = more lag)

and id like to reitterate that this will drop the frame rate a lil bit.... but thats how you do it.

Thanks for the quick reply and the info!

I'll make an additional config with the "join player" enabled for use when missions require it... no sense in having it enabled all the time when it's rarely used...

About the boats... I didn't mean that the Zodiacs were yours (and I see Col Klink has released a few new Zodiac Betas as well...) I just wondered if you'd checked them out as a possible Special Ops alternative Fast Attack Craft for Y2K3... no biggie...

oh. sorry.

no i ment there was no good replacment for the PBR or the East boat. the PBR serves several purposes mission wise.. including river patrol and it wouldnt look right patroling a river in a raft.

and i had considered clinks PTF boat.. but theres no cargo proxys.

as of right now the only suitable replacment would be the tiger attack boats, and its only got 3 cargo proxys where as the BIS one has 8

My game freezes for 3-5 seconds once every 1-2 minutes.

Has anyone else had that problem?

My friend gets the same. The problem occurs in singleplayer and multiplayer as well.

And when we play online together it freezes at the same time.
