orson 0 Posted January 15, 2005 No they're just checkin to make sure no US Air Force planes are about to bomb them from 500,000 ft. this nearly happened in OIF1 to a SF patrol Quote[/b] ]No its because all us English are stuck up snobs who look down our noses at the rest of the world . ROFL Â You're breaking the forum rules; you're flaming yourself. I'm reporting you! Â Well if you cant laugh at yourself... Back on topic , it was done as a measure to counter some clipping i think , i am sure someone more closely linked to the infantry project can enlarge on that . ade_mcc 0 Posted January 18, 2005 Looking fantastic as always. Â Was a bit worried after the recent PUKF reshuffle, but www.project-ukf.com keeps delivering the goods. Â Good work lads!
Cpt. FrostBite 0 Posted January 18, 2005 Oh man that packs looks really heavy. He's going to have to get spinal surgery after that mission. The normal load for such a large backpack is 40kg in the Dutch Marine Corps. Quite heavy, but the right backpack (bergenhaus) it's not that hard. Note that this is not a 'combat-load'. As soon as the first shot is fired you dump this pack on the very spot you are standing and proceed without it (only to go back and pick it up after the fight). Messiah 2 Posted January 18, 2005 correct... the patrol packs and day sacks in the current dpm are more representative of what a soldier would carry in the field... those stupidly sized bergans carry pretty much everything they guy needs for an extended patrol/setting up somewhere... like frostbite said, they arent worn during combat
ZIKAN 0 Posted January 18, 2005 Nice work chaps, looking forward to the new additions and updates. By the way, any plans to release at some point some RM's in Artic Snow suits?
Messiah 2 Posted January 18, 2005 possibly... althought we have many projects currently under construction so it wouldnt be for a while if we were to ever do one.

SWIFT88 0 Posted January 18, 2005 one word i keep hearing is keep it simple..... to many scripts will complicate the addon plus im sure numerous actions in the action menu isnt apreciated
Messiah 2 Posted January 18, 2005 to be fair... that is something you could script into the mission itself... just a case of setting the correct hidden selection to 0.
Guest Posted January 18, 2005 http://www.project-ukf.com/Messiah/images/Photo/lmgtease2.jpgJust a quick snap (with a little photoshop work) of the troops and a new weapon Wow! Looks great! Can't wait for the desert pack!
Cpt. FrostBite 0 Posted January 18, 2005 To drop the backpack it needs to be something like in FDF; a seperate part of the model. Plus if you 'force' the AI to drop the backpack when the fighting start, this can be VERY irritating when they do so right in the face of the enemy; this will result in a few nasty holes in the AI stomach. Best is to leave these on and consider them recon troops and to use them in cut-scenes and stuff like that.
Keller_777 0 Posted January 20, 2005 Have to say I am quite nervous posting in here.. I am in some very good company   anyways "what is the UKF up to?" you may ask well I shall let these pics do the talking.. Don't you think that your "Warrior" is too big?
Messiah 2 Posted January 20, 2005 nope.... not according to our advisors although in the picture it is coming out alot larger than it actually is... put it down to zoom and an optical illusion of some sorts...

I am in some very good company   anyways "what is the UKF up to?" you may ask well I shall let these pics do the talking.. Don't you think that your "Warrior" is too big? Last time I worked/drove one was a few years ago but its not hard to recall the scale. Another plus is we have ex servicemen giving us firm advice RE scale detail and general workings. What you see is as accurate as we can make it.
SWIFT88 0 Posted January 20, 2005 plus Orson has used accurate Blueprints, from a warrior manual he bought.... And on top of that he has used accurate dimensions from MOD website, FAS.org and Janes website

Messiah 2 Posted January 21, 2005 I stepped on my jaw while watching the L1A1 pics. Â Could you not be so friggin highstandard?! You make the rest of us look bad. Â cheers for the kind words mate. The L1A1 is pretty much my first attempt at texturing stuff, and i'm glad you like em - still a bit of work to be done to it, but also to a few other weapons being included in the pack.
