philcommando 0 Posted December 14, 2004 lol@Tankieboy...no worries, i dont mean long live MY huey..probably only a handful will download it, afterall,there's the sebnampack, martin's, moore's, Klink's, all better than mine. I am never a mainstream addonmaker but for those who know the huey, either thru the movies or real life will never forget dangling their feet off the floorboards, feeling the air rushing into your face as the crazy assed pilots fly NOE skimming tree tops and vomit retching turns in dawn and twilight...the distinctive sounds as u pray for relief at an extraction site....the real Huey will live long on our memories... Why you didn't update the UH1H thats floating around thats clear for tampering with. Funny was runing around in Nogova in one of ther weird PC trucks, noticing they are kinda fun dispite funnylooking. Nice tearing over the map powersliding through the turns like in Ridge racer. Made a nice MP mission racing those trucks around one time raming opoentend off the road into trees and civi traffic. Distinctive thump-thump-thump -- I'm now capable of distinguishing hueys from littlebirds without looking up-- which is a good thing, 'cos they look butt-ugly painted all white with UN on the sides. philcommando 0 Posted December 14, 2004 thanks for the compliments..but err...i prefer functionality over asthetics. During the Vietnam war, these choppers were used aggressively and the pilots were a bunch of cowboys  courageous and often recklessly laying it thick on the NVA to protect their brother grunts. ..unfortunately the current crop of choppers in ofp world were pretty mild..thats why i thought to do something about it after waiting for 2 yrs for someone else to make the huey lived up to its legacy and no one did. With these new huey choppers, at least now anyone playing the NVA side will never dare to go out in the open and thumb his middle finger at a huey gunship again!  Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Burns..its not your fault..the bug is mine, cos the aircalvary emblem is an alpha texture rather than a fixed texture so that anyone can remodify it to their favourite unit and being an alpha channel, it has limits when set in between a solid object and another alpha. I started a thread on Hueys a while back... http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....hl=huey Take a look at the pics I posted in there - what we NEED is a Huey in those very dark green colors that they paint them in nowadays. Painting them up with that more contemporary look would absolutely rule. A National Guard unit near my old house flew them up until about 3 years ago, and I've never seen one in camo colors - they were always that dark green color. And I see that you made these models yourself...might I make a request that you also edit STT's Spec Ops Huey model? I think his model is the best Huey ingame right now...maybe you could release another addon that includes all the birds you have right now, but based off his model? After you have thrown up, you wait in trepidation that as soon as this bumpy ride is over that you have to jump off onto uneven ground, get sticks and dirt blown into your face. At the same time you listen for the voice of your section leader, over the roar still in your ears from the huey engine as you get out of the rotorwash to safety, at the same time praying to God that you should have stayed home, and that He will see you safely thru the whole mess.. SEAL84 :- sorry, i dont tamper with other addonmaker's work, its really their blood toil and sweat and a lousy addomaker that i am will probably louse it up further! ...But i wont mind if anyone wanna tamper with mine if they think its good enuff. Retexturing should be easy - just unpbo and u need to modify only 2 textures.( Hueyside.paa and Hueytop.paa)..no need to include me in the credits, cos what i created was based on info freely shared and help along by others..just credit those who really helped. philcommando 0 Posted December 15, 2004 Between 1968 - 1974, the browning M2 .50 calibre mg was commonly used on Hueys, but so was the M60, although most blackhawks, the current utility vehicle for US forces uses the M60 more. However, if you want to use the M60, it should be easy enough, just upbo it and grab a M60 model and replace the M2 in 02, and name the parts otochlavne and otocvez.
