theavonlady 2 Posted October 31, 2004 The ReadMe, for the benefit of all: Quote[/b] ];Addon by BadAss, September 2004, Custom Callsigns;www.mapfact.net ;www.mapfact.net/forum ;Contact: BadAss@mapfact.net ;----------------------------------------------------------------------- Version: 1.2 Date: 17.10.2004 Usually in OFP units and groups are named like "Alpha Black","Foxtrott Red" or "Hotel Green". For I think that's not very telling I created the custom callsigns. What does this Addon? Well, it multiplies your possibilities for group IDs. Firstly I added the rest of the NATO alphabet letters (e.g. India, Juliett, Romeo etc.). Additionally I added some more call signs, e.g. Unit and function names (SEAL, Ranger, Recon, Scout) There are animal code names as well, like lion, eagle, shark. The animal codenames are available in english, french and german language. Instead of adding more or other colours I inclueded all the NATO alphabet letters again enabling you to have combinations of letters like Victor Uniform, Juliett Whisky and so on. Additionally I added some numbers: zero up to nine, team names like Team A to D, Fireteam 1 to 4, you got the idea. The numbers are available in english, french and german language, too. Combining the standard callsigns and colours gives you a lot new possibilities in naming groups, examples being: "Ranger Chalk 1" "Delta Fireteam 3" "SpetzNatz Demolitionteam 1" "Eagle Black" "Super 62" How to use these Callsigns in the editor or a script? Simply with the setGroupID command, like you're used to: groupName SetGroupID ["CallSign","Color"] example: mygroup SetGroupID ["MAP_Marine","MAP_Fireteam_1"] CREDITS go to BAS, for the inspiration by their Custom Callsigns with the Tonal addon. This is an unofficial addon, you know the drill! theavonlady 2 Posted October 31, 2004 just for me the demos doesnt work when i prewiev them?get the old "Alpha Black 1" and so on... Sounds like you accidentally did not place the addon PBO file in the correct addon folder.
raedor 8 Posted October 31, 2004 just for me the demos doesnt work when i prewiev them?get the old "Alpha Black 1" and so on... Sounds like you accidentally did not place the addon PBO file in the correct addon folder. exactly. you have to put the pbo in ofp\addons or ofp\res\addons. or, if you are running it with mod folders check if the mod folder is "started".
the_shadow 0 Posted November 1, 2004 i put the PBO in my "mapfact" folder, wich is started as i could use the other Mapfact addons i´ll check again though, i might have put some other mapfact addon in multiple folders.. [edit] ahh, yes.. you where right... i had forgotten to start the folder.. works nice now
the_shadow 0 Posted November 10, 2004 well, got a problem (dont know if i made it right though) i want to use this in a mission, but the names stay the same as usual... i have 4 squads wich uses these names.. first 3 are support squads (arty) that i want to have the callsigns EE, EF and EG.. in the editor i have named them arty1, art2 and arty3 (eg arty1 = group this in the init field) then in my init.sqs i have put the following lines leader arty1 setGroupID ["MAP_Echo_1","MAP_Echo_1"] leader arty2 setGroupID ["MAP_Echo_1","MAP_Foxtrot_1"] leader arty3 setGroupID ["MAP_Echo_1","MAP_Golf_1"] the last squad is a FO squad (player squad, will call in the arty fire) named OA in the editor (OA = group this) and i put leader OA setGroupID ["MAP_Oskar_1","MAP_Alpha_1"] in the init.sqs. (note, all these units got their group names in the editor way before your addon where releaced) but, i still get names like "Alpha green 1", "Bravo Blue 1" and so on in game... what have i made wrong? (the "leader OA setGroupID ["MAP_Oskar_1","MAP_Alpha_1"]" is put at the top of the init.sqs since i have som other stuff in there too)
343rdBadger 0 Posted November 11, 2004 I haven't been able to figure out this addon either???...can someone put this in layman terms for us?Maybe a step by step tutortrial, its confusing as hell trying to figure just what goes where. And the mission demo doesn't seem to work either, all I hear is a radio crackle. raedor 8 Posted November 11, 2004 @343rdBadger: check the tutorial missions included and the readme. @the_shadow: try this:<table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">leader arty1 setGroupID ["MAP_HW","MAP_Echo_1"] leader arty2 setGroupID ["MAP_FireBase","MAP_Foxtrot_1"] leader arty3 setGroupID ["MAP_Fox","MAP_Golf_1"] leader OA setGroupID ["MAP_Oskar","MAP_Alpha_1"]does that work out?
the_shadow 0 Posted November 12, 2004 i could try, but it´s not the callsigns i want ;) the arty unit MUST have EE, EF and EG ;) hrm.. you cant combine "colour" with "colour" you must have "letter" "colour" i guess ME, MF, MG will have to do then... to bad you didnt have all Nato letters both on as letter and colour... hope you implement that for the next version ;) i think, A,B,C,D,E,F,G and H is missing under letter category.. but they are under colour... thats why its not possible to have EE, EF and EG as i wanted.. *not to self, read the readme better next time*
KTottE 0 Posted November 12, 2004 Don't do "leader arty1", just do: arty1 setGroupID["blah","blah"] As you can see here: http://www.ofpec.com/editors/comref.php?letter=S#setGroupId The setGroupID takes a GROUP as it's first parameter, not a groupleader.
