Crying in my bed why I cant have such a beautifull OFP as you guys!

1) no shadows

2) put visibility to 1400 (if you fly allot) or 900 (infantry)

3) disable the reflective water on Dxdll when you dont see it, sometimes it helps

4) check This topic wink_o.gif

5) goto your OFP prefrences and see how much memory you are giving to OFP, decrease that number a bit.

6) check how "big" the geometry performance is, the more the slider is to the right the better your OFP will perform. (yeah, i know it sounds weird)

now whipe those tears of ya tounge_o.gif

when I see that screenshots that people make I`m trying to kill myself.

You do realise that often when taking screenshots people crank up the settings so that it looks pretty but it's not playable? smile_o.gif

Decrease the memory!? rock.gif What is the logic behind this? I'm going to try it out, still though how does that help?

OFP + logic = CTD tounge_o.gif

No really, I think it is because the ammount of memory controls what gets rendered, how fast AI makes decisions, etc.

While i have 1024 MB of memory, I only allow my OFP to use 880 MB of it... It works wink_o.gif

Geometry performance slider is around 30 000 I think...

Never!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  mad_o.gif 10-15 fps is still playable tounge_o.gif

And Sniper Skull that looks alot like mine for some reason... wow_o.gif wait it is mine, except for the res, 1600x1200 all the way LOL

Anyway i find what he has posted with the higher res i use + DXDLL on default are good setting to run to get nice pics.

After seeing Sniper Skulls´s screenie about the ofp benchmark with a cpu-benchmark result from 10000 i ask myself if it´s normal to get a result from 6849 with a AMD FX-53 cpu?

I only have 1023 MB Ram but it shouldn´t affect it so much?!

I´am overall not pleased with my performance.

Grafic card is a AX-800 Pro. Has anyone an idea?

What you are seeing is the "actual" benchmark, common practice is to "overclock" the benchmark by editing it in the config.

However, I get an "actual" benchmark of ~7000 in my Resistance preferences (P4 3.06GHz HT, w/ 1024 of DDR333), so yes that score does seem a little low for an FX-53.

my old system that I've been playing ofp on for the last few years:

PIII 650 mhz

256 mb ram

32mb nvidia tnt2 card

2 x 20gb hd

dvd rom

cd burner

some generic sound card

ofp benchmark 1119

my new system aka my ofp2 system

P4 3.4ghz

1024mb ram

256mb radeon x300 card

120gb hd

dvd burner

sb audigy 2 zs 7.1 surround

ofp benchmark 7049

I have the graphics maxed out so that there aren't any visible mipmap changes or low res textures. I have the view distance at 1500 not because it lags otherwise but because ofp's tiled ground textures look really bad when you can see the whole island, especially on high res islands. dxdll doesn't even touch my framerate, but I turned off reflected objects simply because the effect looks sloppy when you change the view quickly. I also use the flashfx mod with no reduction in fps. The hardest thing to get used to is ofp NOT crashing and giving me errors smile_o.gif
