One 0 Posted October 18, 2004 alrite! i just sucessfully upgraded my machine to a amd64 3200+. i reformated and everything and at first i was a lil dissapointed, but yesterday i fired up ofp and i guess the upgrade kicked in. i roughly doubled my fps i can acutally play the mission "Battlefields" with an average of 25fps. not only that i can play smootly with up'd view distances roughly up to 2000 now im thinkin about getting a beefier gfx card. any hardcore ofp'ers or gamers in general have suggestions? (im not on a budget, i wanna run wit the big dogs )
shinRaiden 0 Posted October 18, 2004 Anything AGP that needs (and comes with) an auxilary molex power connector , unless you happened to get a good pci-x motherboard. The GeForce 6600 line is looking very good on the price-per-performance, and the PCI-x versions will support SLI, and the Geforces support dual-heading in OFP. One 0 Posted October 18, 2004 bah, pci-e is too new down the road. i didnt spend too much money on the cpu/motherboard combo, so its all old school stuff, so plain old AGP for me

There are a couple of older threads discussing them Virtual Reality Goggles & Ofp with 3d glasses, from what people say they work well if your gfx card/monitor is able to put out a decent refresh rate

SpaceAlex 0 Posted January 6, 2005 AMD Athlon 64 FX-53 1GB OCZ 3700 Platinum Leadtek Nvidia 6800 Ultra. To be honest OFP doesn't run much better than on my previous system. The FPS still drops down to 20 sometimes. I should also state that i get the same FPS when running at 1600x1200 (4xSAA, 16xAF) as i get when running at 1024x768 (No AA, AF). I think it's pretty easy to explain that: OFP engine is pretty old and it's not coded for this new hardware. The same holds true for the graphic card drivers. They are not coded for this game. I have to say though, the game runs a lot smoother online. We all know why is that, don't we? Because that CPU really rocks.
