der bastler 0 Posted April 3, 2005 Sure you can join, 9mm. * Map updated [ok] I wonder if someone noticed the green arrow links to uk and benelux maps? Pure CSS, no Javascript. And btw, the arrow symbol is the "Grüner Pfeil" which can be found on German traffic lights (signaling that you can --carefully-- turn to the right even if the traffic lights' are showing red). Albert Schweitzer 10 Posted April 18, 2005 locator is down, any problems bastler?
der bastler 0 Posted April 19, 2005 locator is down, any problems bastler? Don't know, but I get a 403 for a week now. Since I'm only sub-domain user I asked chief Trekkie, but got no response. FTP-Access is not possible, too. Cracked? Contract down? The good news is that I'm only uploading changes of my local version. Therefore a backup exists. Seems I've to look for my own page now... Any suggestions for a .de or .org domain provider in Germany? Don't want to set up an own webserver with dyndns (e-power got expensive in Germany).
Munk 0 Posted April 19, 2005 Couldnt you ask an OFP fansite to host it?
der bastler 0 Posted April 20, 2005 Couldnt you ask an OFP fansite to host it? Perhaps, but I want to get an own domain, too. Yet I don't have a clue which provider to choose.
Albert Schweitzer 10 Posted April 20, 2005 Couldnt you ask an OFP fansite to host it? Perhaps, but I want to get an own domain, too. Yet I don't have a clue which provider to choose. If you go to specific fan site then you must be ready for a flood of emails of people wanting their pin on the map!
My problem: there are thousands of providers. And everybody recommends another company. A dedicated line is to expensive here in Germany. Otherwise I'd change my EPIA Mini-ITX MP3 Player project into a little web server. Patience is a virtue, guys. In summer I'll get a job as a scientific assistant (BAT IIa), going for Ph.D. Then I'll have a much bigger budget for web hosting and much smaller amount of time (aber irgendwas is ja immer!). Albert Schweitzer 10 Posted April 20, 2005 Quote[/b] ]aber irgendwas is ja immer! tell me about it! But what is that "BAT IIa"?
der bastler 0 Posted April 20, 2005 But what is that "BAT IIa"? Bundesangestelltentarif (German civil service pay scale), (lower) level IIa. Pay scale for scientific assistants at German universities.

der bastler 0 Posted April 22, 2005 lol!1! arrrghhh! get it back up... work server work or i kill you:D:D:Dbeeeeeeeeeeeeeep lol der blaster... take youre time. I could create a dyndns entry and start my own webserver on my desktop machine (apache2 & ddclient)... http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_setup_a_home-server But that would be rather desperate measures... Let's see what ofp-editing.de can provide.
der bastler 0 Posted April 22, 2005 Ah, good news! I discovered that I can still access some webspace at my university! *slapshead* Why the heck did I forget about my studi account?
