xezon 0 Posted July 6, 2004 Hi all, i did a test about ingame textur changes with a soldier. Watch this Movie: http://sw-bf.de/txt_ingame_change.avi (2 MB) The resistance soldier will change his clothes in the same mission. So you can simulate to play two or more different characters in one mission! (I retextured the soldier via script step by step (~0.5 s intervall) )
redface 1 Posted July 6, 2004 another major breakthrough I'm happy somebody finally gave it a try this topic must be among the most frequently asked questions on this forum

monty67t 0 Posted July 6, 2004 So would it be possible to look like a civilian and walk into an enemy occupied town to gather intel? Then walk back to camp and change into your combat gear for the assault? This is probably quite a bit different since you would be changing characters. Is it possible? xezon 0 Posted July 6, 2004 Of course. It's so easy. Â Additional it is possible to switch between different bags on your back.
Spartan 163 0 Posted July 6, 2004 Any chance for a window media version of movie?
Uncle_Sam 0 Posted July 6, 2004 People were breaking records here in OPF
vektorboson 8 Posted July 6, 2004 I thought about another possibility: You could use OFP's custom faces to texture a soldier in its whole; the drawback would be that the model is predefined and you couldn't really use hiddenselections, and of course you couldn't really use the predefined faces of OFP. bmgarcangel 0 Posted July 6, 2004 Isn't that already done?
MSpencer 0 Posted July 6, 2004 Or roll up BDU sleeves, change helmet/boonie/cover, unbutton BDUs, take off BDU blouse, etc.

Nice idea vektor  But that must be a very large texture if you want BIS quality.  And notice: If you do that you can't use injury selections
xezon 0 Posted July 6, 2004 Isn't that already done? No I decided another way. I just retextured the original parts of the original BIS textures and change the texture pathes. Then put in selections of the different textureparts and define them in the config. Via script or trigger you change the textures with the setObjectTexture command. scfan42 0 Posted July 6, 2004 Maybe we could make a shapeshifter addon that can turn into different people or objects, IE turning yourself into a table to hide in the enemy camp
raedor 8 Posted July 6, 2004 that's already done i.e. (at least parts of a soldier) by laser.
edc 0 Posted July 6, 2004 Very cool. There are lots of places where this could be used. Its starting to seem like "engine limitations" aren't so limiting at all.
philcommando 0 Posted July 7, 2004 Congrats xezon!!!!! U've just made commando operations more realistic. Haha...MP plays gonna get tougher..but thats the way it should be if u truly wanna be the top dog of military skills  It aint the massive firepower one has that will win - Vietnam and Iraq has taught us that..its the power of the mind that wins it. C4P741N 0 Posted July 7, 2004 I thought Iraq taught us to drop 1500 bombs on the first day and 200,000 troops on the second. Good work xezon, I'd thought this was possible for a long time but beyond my skills. Cap.
