The way I see it, if you have seen any or all of the nam movies out, you can expect the same offencive stuff, thats all we hope to have in common with movies tho, we dont want to seem cliched (dictionary definition of cliched for all you youngin's = "Having become stale or commonplace through overuse").

About the insulting SE asians, I have some South Vietnamese friends but I have to say we will most likely add in every gritty detail possible to ensure the realism and overall effect we desire. So you can imagine.

Its not being racist, its history. I dont mean to sound like its ok to say out in the public today, but playing video games its whatever the hell you want it to be, thats why we mod... no holds barred.

Oops, one more thought, how is a guy saying gook any worse than a guy killing an innocent civilian? Why should we leave these things out, they happened. I can already imagine the replies to that so I will remind you we're not making a happy thrill ride thru vietnam type mod, its going to be mean and mature, so dont play it if you cant handle it.

Colonel Moore, retired Colonel Moore, who commanded the 7th Cal. in the Vietnam war through the Ia Drang Valley, i asked him about that about a month ago. He said part of it was true but part of it wasn't. Alot of his troops understood that they were fighting for their country and the other for theirs.

All for realism. That said, should probably post some kind of a warning - the game includes the possibility to slaughter a village, but the language is surprisingly mild. You'd figure Russians coming under fire at 0300 would be swearing like I do on a bender. *For those here who havn't heard that. Just imagine a kilometer-long line of asterisks.*

The game is rated Mature for a reason I figure.

Don’t worry we have taste, it wont be like Die hard 2 or whatever, everyone needlessly saying the "F" word between every other two words.

But you will hear the "F"  word multiple times throughout the campaign, you can count on that.

Some of u may say how can u use the F word in good taste? well by using it to complement the situation where theres a very high probability someone woudl be swearing in Reality, reality is what we're trying to reflect here. Vietnam war was something that Really happened, it wasnt just cheezy 80's movies and tuff guys with attitudes, it was 18 year old kids scared shitless in a foreign world... carrying guns with no objective but to kill the enemy, which could be anyone.

My opionion is that ist okay if they swear, not that its nessary but okay it might not be the coolest thing to strom some "bip" hill deep inside the jungle. On the other hand it mignt be kinda fun whit a censored version(only if you could understand the story offcause) like "Im "bip" hit sarge I cant go on" "you "bip" "bip" get up and mount that "bip" fifty" well i guess it sound funnyer in my head then on a screen.

Did u know the word "gook" actually means person in Korean? (or in their slang at least)

= derogatory term for an Asian;

derived from Korean slang for "person" and passed down by Korean war veterans.

There were lots of grizzly Sgt's in Vietnam who served throughout Korea as well, they had used the slang word "gook" to discribe the enemy in Korea and passed it down to the Vietnam war as well where it became basically pop culture due to the increased freedom of media.

Well considering I plan for our mod to use language when ever it is in the future when we get to campaigns ( which will be after alll addons are done ). Gooks will be one of the words.
