If it was an injury, then bring on van der vaart or Sneijder for him. Perhaps even another striker! But not a DM, which shows that they want to defend the league! Yeah of course Barton is better, he's the best midfielder in England   On that note its a disgrace that neither Barton or Wright-Phillips got called up for the England squad, especially when you consider the number of under-achievers in there. The goal of van nistelrooij can be argued, he was offside during the first pass to Robben, but not during the assist to him. The thing would be he was "out of the game" during the first pass, and in during the assist. kinda debatable . But anyway, we definately should've got a penalty in the first half and the ref was obviously on czech side (I'm biased I know ) Substituting Robben wasn't totally wrong, since he still is recovering from injury. But not Bosvelt but Overmars should have taken his place. We're most likely going for elimination now, but we showed what we're made of, and that's more than I expected at the start of EURO2004. Although i did not like how Netherlands played, they were fouling every 10 mins, if u dont beleive me watch the game again. As for Czech...........u are the champs, great play. Postduifje 0 Posted June 19, 2004 Both defenses weren't top quality, that's what made the game so damn good. Two highly skilled attacking teams with room to play in. The dutch were not by far at their best today, and neither were the Czech I think.
