Bordoy 0 Posted October 29, 2004 Yes, I think the blue european stars band became compulsory this summer IIRC I think it is seeing we, as Europe, are not a country as yet so the Euro flag to represent GB is abit well not to my liking. And plus it being illegal to show our own flag is well darn stupid.

EiZei 0 Posted October 29, 2004 What the hell is wrong with brits? Its a goddamn license plate tag for god's sake. Every new car here has one of those and nobody complains, good uniform way of identifying the origin of the vehicle.

iNeo 0 Posted October 29, 2004 good uniform way of identifying the origin of the vehicle. So you can tell it's European... If you go on a road trip you usally stay within Europe, how useful with a European flag.

Bordoy 0 Posted October 30, 2004 You still can Identify where the car comes from, without any flag on it.... Oh so if it's right hand drive then its British or if its lefy hand drive its European.
Frisbee 0 Posted October 30, 2004 The letters are still on it. Who cares about a bloody little flag on a lisence plate anyway? Silly nationalists, don't see me asking for a belgian or even flemish flag on my plates. Quote[/b] ]To accept such would be to accept the rule of Brussels. Bow down to Brussels commoners! xawery 0 Posted October 30, 2004 For pete's sake, people... if you truly think your national identity is threatened by the absence of the Union Jack on your plates, then that identity must be pretty flimsy indeed... And you know it isn't. It's fighting tooth and nail over such trivialities that distracts people from the things that really matter, the true flaws of the constitution. As flawed as it may be, I see the constitution as a necessary next step in the development of the union. Come to think of it, the troubles that have plagued the drafting process are nothing short of logical. How could anyone expect representatives of 25 culturally and socio-economically diverse countries to reach any kind of agreement without conflict? Incidentally, it is not entirely true that Poland and Spain were the only countries to block the process. After the socialists won the Spanish elections, both Spain and Poland were prepared for compromises. Jacque Chirac however, was not, and France retained its hard line. Read about it here. Get your head out of your ass! Never seen the Euro-field on the new registration plates?? Other countries with identification markings: Belgium (B) Finnland (FIN) France (F) Great Britain (GB) Ireland (IRL) Italy (I) Luxembourg (L) Malta (M) The Nietherlands (NL) Austria (A) Portugal (P) Sweden (S) Spain (E) You better get some information first, before you open your mouth next time! The EU doesn't make any rules that say what has to be on the rest of the registration plate. You brits can slap everything you want on it! BTW, we had nationality stickers on cars before! I'm sorry I had to be rude, but sometimes I'm easilly pissed off by ignorance.

Well, you can't deny that brits are significantly more anti-EU than anybody else. Especially when it comes to mundane and irrevelant stuff like this.

Indeed, basically down to the amount of retards we have that read the Sun and Daily Mail. Yes you heard me Sun and Mail readers. F*cking Retards! These are the people who dance to the agenda of the papers editor as they believe everything written in its pages as gospel. I knew a few people with the 'anti EU' crap mindset, until I actually used logic and facts to undo the damage that the media do. Bordoy, no-one is going to chain you to a Frenchman, despite what people say! Thre only problem I have with the Euro situation is the corruption, (but thats universal), and the twisted farming policies that really need sorting out. You know them educational books about Europe's history given to dutch children made by the EU? The section about Britain had not one word about WW2, surely one word but no. Significant history of Europe yet erased like Wales on the statistical book of Europe.

See Bordoy, you read this crap in the Mail, and take it for the truth. The report all the bad things (Or make it up), and offer it as the general reality. The Mail like to scare its readers. Everyone knows this. They know it as well, as it sells more papers. According to the Mail, Britain would today now be a barren plain, inhabited by rapists, paedophiles and asylum seekers. Hasn't happened yet, and they have been shaking their fists and shouting for decades! Try picking up a broadsheet, and reads that. these tabloids will rot your brain serioulsy. Do you like the idea of being brainwashed by a paper? Don't scoff, because it does happen. I read a paper for facts, not opinion. Why should I have someone make my mind up for me? Give me the facts and I'll interpret them as I see fit. As for the retard thing. Sun readers are retards, but Mail readers are worse. They should be smart enough to know better!
