Mapfact nogova released

now this $hit is hot!!! Best Island Available!! MapFact's version of Nogova, i just made a really non-action but differnt mission, u drive a taxi from Petrovic to the airport on the way you see mine trucks coming out of the mine place, heli's flying from airport and all kinda stuff going on at the airport, even unarmed Us Troops (HYK Captives) jogging and patrolling the hangars. Two Bus's that come into the airport unloading civilians, Even men getting into their vehicles and leaving the airport!!! hehe this is great!!!

i think im going to start on my next mission, (Air Show Security) the United States AirForce is throwing their 1st annual Nogova Republic Air show with Commanche's and F16's and Pavehawk flyover's, theyll be on a simple constant waypoint to keep flying over, some big crowds of people along the taxi-way and itll get attacked by some terrorists driving civilian cars. You and your 5 other Team Members have to defend this attacks.

Some of the barracks on the northern island don't conform to the ground (They're partially hovering). Other than that, this is perfect smile_o.gif .

Pretty good work. Was only hoping for more changes like making a real big capital of Lipany  sad_o.gif

But this one looks cool anyway  smile_o.gif

rock.gif the normal lipany pulls your frame rate down to like 15 now. . . you make it any bigger and us normal people with normal computers will be putting out the flames as our CPUs melt.

very nice island. wasnt interested til i saw the airport then i was like MINE biggrin_o.gif

yeh no offense to mapFact but if the airport gave like 9 points to the scale of 1-10 of this addon.. and for that reason this island is a perfect 10!

another thing the links on ofp.info for the sheds is not working... i can play the map but the missing p3d for the sheds keeps popping up.. anyone got a mirror?

Island is fantastic! Not the best island addon i wouldn't say because every island has its qualities wink_o.gif

This one uses the map fact objects in a very professional way,

i actualy played a quick mission with a friend on the island today smile_o.gif this one will definitely be used in my yesterday started to make Sp campaign about planes , chopers and some sf and naval and transportation parts of the game. tounge_o.gif

anyone that has tried to get that important support truck over to your friends that need them while being fired on by enemy ambushes , know what im talking about biggrin_o.gif

Very nice, although the changes are a bit too subtle for my liking. I personally would like to see( in addition to what is already there):

- a bigger harbour at Modrava, with added industrial feel

- Now that we have mines, we should also have some factories, perhaps replace the ruins in the centre of Petrovice with a nice factory smile_o.gif

- an updated road system, perhaps with a motorway (highway, autobahn) between Petrovice and Lipany, and connections with the currently unconnected villages

- an updated infantry camp near the island in the middle

- Perhaps a big shopping centre and a parking lot (there was an addon like this, I'm sure)

Having said that, my suggestions would place Nogova into todays timescale, whereas you are trying to place it in the late 80s/early 90s I assume?

T.S.C. Plage wanted to use - at least in v1.0 - only mapfact addons. in further releases he wants to include other addons as well...

I like ex-Ronin's comments. I'd like to see ag_smith's stuff brought over as well. I love the mapfact stuff and I think the island looks a lot better with it, but this project has a whole lot of potential to do more to make Nogova look like a functional, real-world island. smile_o.gif

i agree some agent smiths objects wouldnt hurt.. but dont over-due it either.. gotta keep the original feel here are somethings i would like to see thats very do-able and wont take you guys alot of time.

- working runway lights at night (Tonal)

- realistic Helipads in airport (default in the landscape)

And these might take some time

- European signs (like the Tonal Banners, but with the advertisements applying to Nogova, like have differnt airlines on the signs on the approach to the airport.)

- Restaurants near the airport and a few more nice Big Building (simulating a hotel or such).

-MapFact Airport Vehicles objects (Hehe, an airport cargo truck, refuel truck, and personell.. with Ear Muffs!!!

It was and is only planed to use Mapfact.net addons/objects from our/my side so far. Maybe that'll change in the future but at the monent I don't want to make promises!

That'll take lot of performance on not so powerfull systems. I think this could be scripted easily by any mission-creator if needed. Maybe somebody can already create a script and we include it in a demo-mission in the next version.

I'm not sure what you mean with "realistic"...maybe some marked places or even places were the AI automatically lands?

I didn't used one of this because each mission-maker should be able to place "Hs" where he wants them to be (use the "Hs" from the game or one of Martins (aks MTYs) "heliparks").

And these might take some time

Yeah, maybe some commercial-signs would be a great addition.

Do you know how long I'm waiting for a super-market with car-park in front for example? It's simply nothing "good" available...also remember the "only Mapfact.net" thing.

I'd really like to see some more Mapfact-vehicles but I think you can go with the CWK airfield-stuff and the Zil-Trucks at the moment. But I'd also like to see a "follow-me" car for example!

I love all the changes, especially the main airport. I think you could perhaps add some of your green and yellow shed, now they are all grey. Also one small base somewhere remote with a couple of barracks would be cool.

I don't think Smith's industrial stuff is much use on Nogova, perhaps the more northern of the two main harbours (forgot name, but it's north east) could have some of Smiths harbour stuff. The power plants would look out of place, it's not like Trinity where it's all tucked away in a corner, you can't do that on Nogova.

Great job guys, are you ever going to do the same for Everon, Malden and Kolgathingy?

i was thinking, the base up the river (before dolina)

couldn´t you replace the barracks there with Mapfact ones? preferably green ones...

and maybe make the base a bit bigger

i would also like a smaller base out in the desert

hell, i´d like someone make a island with a Army base the size of a city in OFP (about the size of Lipany)

but not on Nogova...
