Akira 0 Posted April 15, 2004 PSX Goes To War Sony sounds pissed and rightfully so. But given that most soldier/kids grew up with those controls or one's like them, it does sound like an interesting idea.
DracoPaladore 0 Posted April 15, 2004 Can just imagine it: "Crap! I broke one of the joysticks! How the hell can I turn my turret now?" "Press Triangle and Circle in order to activate TOW missle system.."
theavonlady 2 Posted April 15, 2004 Quote[/b] ]During the Vietnam War, Mattel successfully sued the US Air Force for airdropping “Vietcong†Ken Dolls over North Vietnam in hopes of taunting the communists. m21man 0 Posted April 15, 2004 Well, if Sony wins, then the Army can always rely on Microsoft to provide them with controllers. The only problem would be if Microsoft simply shipped a load of the older monster controllers: "NOOO! I can't reach the Fire button!"

Maybe not.

NavyEEL 0 Posted April 15, 2004 Memory cards will probably be in service soon as well, so that soldiers may preserve their own customized controller profile.

NavyEEL 0 Posted April 15, 2004 Mmh. Pisses me off. Why not keyboard and mouse for fighter jets? Â I hear they even provide realistic "force feedback" in the tanks...
llauma 0 Posted April 15, 2004 Maybe every soldier will carry their own controller so you can't drive a vehicle without it? As USA mainly operates in undeveloped countries the enemy can't use any vehicles they might conquer as there are no playstation controllers in the country and the people don't know how to use it. Bordoy 0 Posted April 17, 2004 Why would it be easy with better accuracy? When you buy a new game for PS2, it takes time to get use to the controls so wouldn't the soldiers need time to get use to the new ones. What about when they on leave they play a game with O being move but in the tank O is shoot. And whats with the accuracy, MOH: Rising sun is quite hard ti aim at anything. Baron Hurlothrumbo IIX 0 Posted April 17, 2004 Console games and shooting do not mix, especially shooting with accuracy, and that is all down to the controllers.
Baphomet 0 Posted April 26, 2004 Fuck that shit. Mouse + keyboard all the way! At least a mouse. I mean really. You can't get any more precise than that. Realistically, that setup would probably take up way too much space compared to a ps2 controller and get easily broken. Even so. I find the playstation 2 controller for doing precision aiming in games like timesplitters 2 really really hard on my thumb, because you have to hold it at an awkward angle for a really long time. Whereas with a mouse it's infinitely more precise and allows for a quicker response time. Quote[/b] ]but cs nerdys prefer keyboard and mouse Maybe back before CS was going to be on the shitbox. Even so. Regardless of whether or not you're a CS reject. It stands to reason. Keyboard + mouse just makes much more sense.
