if it aint broke. . . dont fix it thats why we still use the A/MH6 little birds. same helo's we used back in the 60's (the hughs 500) the CH47, agian same thing we used int eh 60's. u dont think the brits didnt take to this same concept of "it aint broke dont fix it"?

The westland gazelle is one the best ground attack choppers us brits have, besides it came into use just before the falklands, at least i think it did. This looks pretty cool. All we need now is a lynx, and some smoke effects and we can have the Army Air Corp Blue Eagles display team, hehe.

Sorry but i can't stand people making nasty comments about gazelles, they're one of my favourite choppers.

that helo so looks liek one of those helos from the tv show MASH in the korean war.. only a little more pretty.

yeah i knwo the little birds and chinooks are from the 60's but have been upgraded some bu that is the 60's when helos took off so to speak. hell the USMC still use UH-1 Hueys and AH-1 Cobras.. but they don't look like a ehlo from WWII..

and yes the WAH-64A(AH-64A US varaint) is ALOT better then most any production Attack helo out there.

I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the Gazelle is primarily used for recce. It's not really built to be zipping around up the sharp end with machine-gun pods strapped to it.

In northern ireland they have big cameras and they watch you....and a trainer aircraft for the army air corp adn doing this:

I think Gazelles are used for mostly battlefield support roles by the British army and Royal Marines, they act as recon and spotter platforms for artillary, tanks and anti-tank helicopters (or at least they did with the Lynx, Apache Longbow is more than capable of doing that itself). Other secondary roles include medevac, training, and transport. I think they're only ever armed with 7.62 machineguns by the British but are capable of carrying all manner of weaponry by other operators.

If so, I'm sure they where used as anti armour and personell choppers, I have the impression that I seen them in a documentry in TV. maybe somebody knows about it?

Well it was used in the falklands so i guess it was in bosnia too. It doesn't matter if the frenchpoint team made one, this one is painted in home colours.

The Malvinas Mod team actually made some REALLY kick ass Gazelles, but not many people use them because the Brit side is on the East in their mod (makes it a pain in the ass to use them with other Brit addons as you gotta mess with them in the map editor or mission.sqm file).

But I still use them and think that those along with the OFrP mod team's Gazelles are the best around.

But if this Gazelle has good sounds on it, and some decent weapons (sorry but unarmed scout helos are boring in OFP), then I can't wait to use this addon.

They were in use already in the mid 70's. My dad used to work on them.

The Croats use the Gazelle too.

Only problem with the MLV Helo's are that they don't get targeted by ground units. (Troops, Static and vehicle mounted MG's)

I'm looking forward to checking out the new one that Arch is working on. Which versions will you be making?

Now if only someone would make a decent Brit Puma.....
